My'akka Vafley is a unique community. It was set up as small
Ranches. Indeedour recordsinclude the original letter by the developer explainingthe intention: to establishan equestriancommuniqv,
So the sub-division was laid out with a network of Saddle Trails.
Thesedefine and distinguishthe Vallev frotn other places. They add
value to the properties.and will he an increasinglyimportant feature
a-scity developmentspreadsever nearerto us.
So rr'eshouldlook after this specialasset.just as we now take careof
the roads. But there are problems,of course. Not everyonetakes
proper care of the saddletrails that cmss their propert,v. Indeed.in
the pasl some har,'ebeen fencedover and accessohstnacted.If the
Board fails to take action,then the statueof limitations prevails. Af:
ter a very few' vears.the right of passagealong the easementis lost.
The Board would rvish to talk u'ith an.vneighbor who has a fence
over a SaddleTrail to discussthe possibilityof restoringthe asset.
At the last trvo meetings.the Board discussedlrow to deal with unmaintainedSaddleTrails. Clearly. theseshould not he lost to the
communitv. It is the reslrcnsihilityof Lot Owrrersto maintain their
own land. Mcxt do. and we are grateful for the care so many exercise. Rut a few do not. Should the Board demandactionto clearthe
land and keep it in good order? Most would answer:"ves!" Rut
w'hat of those Lots in foreclosureor those Owners in real financial
difficulqv? And there are quite a fen'. Should the Board call in the
