IMPRESSIONS - Arkansas League of Artists
IMPRESSIONS NEWSLETTER OF THE ARKANSAS LEAGUE OF ARTISTS September Demo Artist, Bob Snider This month, Bob Snider demonstrated his method of oil painting by recreating a scene he has painted several times before. Bob is a watercolorist and compared and contrasted characteristics of the two media as he painted. This led to a lively round of questions by several of our painters. Bob also shared that he will host a painting trip to France next spring and encouraged us to sign up soon. The painting trip is to Arles France, May 15th through the 22nd. His phone number is 501-690-3746. Bob is represented in Local Colour Art Gallery in Little Rock, Gallery Central in Hot Springs and Art Group Gallery in Little Rock. You may see his work online at www.BobSniderWatercolors.com. We want to thank Bob for donating his painting to ALA. We plan to auction the painting at our Christmas party or on Facebook. Instead, the ALA Christmas Party will be held on December 1st at the NLR Community Center, (where we have our monthly meetings). The Christmas party will be catered by Jacksonville Western Sizzlin. The menu will include roast beef, roast pork, mixed vegetables, roast potatoes, broccoli, salad and cobbler. The cost per person is $9 and you are welcome to bring family members and/or friends. We do need to give the caterer a head count, so please let us know as soon as possible, if you are planning to attend and how many guests you will have. You can contact Louise Carlisle at 501-779-1475 or email [email protected]. We will have the monthly competition at the Christmas Party, so everyone can bring one piece of their artwork for that. We will take the winning artwork to the Winners' Show exhibit at the Patrick Hays Center the next day.
