The Intelligent Fifth Wheel
INTRODUCTION
When our design team was creating Sanibel, we had a big advantage. This advantage is called EXPERIENCE! Fortunately for Prime Time, several members of our management team have been directly involved over the years with several of the best selling, most popular fifth wheels in the industry. Brands that every experienced RV’er is familiar with. We were keenly aware of the pros, cons, weaknesses, and strengths of these brands. We knew how they were built and how they were used. These key Prime Time employees are fifth wheel experts! However, we wanted to build a BETTER fifth wheel than what was currently available, so we talked to owners of these brands in the campgrounds, at rallies, and on the phone. We asked them how to
improve on their units. We asked them what they liked and didn’t like about their unit. We researched numerous owner forums looking for comments both good and bad. We brought competitors’ units to our facilities to make sure we avoided what was wrong and implemented what was right. Basically, we started from scratch with our thinking.
Combining Prime Time’s vast experience with our efforts at collecting owner feedback helped us create Sanibel ‐ a much smarter fifth wheel – a much better fifth wheel – THE INTELLIGENT FIFTH WHEEL!
This training manual will show you many of the details, features, and benefits of Sanibel. We think it’s the smartest fifth wheel ever built.

INTERIOR
Feature – Native American Cherry Hardwood Doors and Drawers
Sanibel’s real cherry cabinets are beautiful and elegant – just like a home. Yet, cherry is a very hard wood that will resist the “dents and dings” that are common with softer wood species and it will easily withstand the rigors of typical RV use.
Feature – Tall Kitchen Overhead Cabinets That Are Easy To Reach
For maximum storage, Sanibel offers extremely tall kitchen overhead cabinets –
up to 28” tall! However, we’ve installed them at a residential height so they are easy to reach. For convenience, slide lips are installed on all cabinet shelves to keep items from bumping doors open during transit.
Feature – Oversized Kitchen Drawers
The galley drawers in a Sanibel are 30% to 50% bigger than many competitors’
drawers. With most extending out an amazing 18”, you can pack more of your important items in these 6” tall drawers.

Feature – Baltic Birch Drawer Boxes
All of Sanibel’s oversized drawers are built using Baltic Birch construction – just like your home. You will have less “splintering”
and more durability than many cheaper kinds of drawer construction.
Feature – Roller Ball Bearing Full Extension Drawer Guides
All of Sanibel’s oversized drawers are 100% accessible thanks to full extension drawer guides. The roller ball bearing design ensures residential ease of use and will support even the heaviest loads.
Feature – Large, Easy‐To‐Use Pull Handles
Sanibel’s designers chose cabinet hardware that was both beautiful and practical. The large 6” spread makes it easy to get several fingers behind the handle to pull and the back of the handle is solid so it feels comfortable to the touch.

Sanibel is standard with a 12’ Side‐By‐Side refrigerator that looks great and provides the best storage in the industry.
30” OTR Convection Microwave
Just like your home, a 30” Convection Microwave is standard on every Sanibel. The cook of the house will appreciate the increased versatility and convenience of this intelligent feature.
Deluxe Range
The upgraded range found in a Sanibel features easy‐to‐clean sealed burners, heavy duty top grates, extra large oven, and a Piezo Ignition.

Sanibel is standard with high quality Corian
countertops that exceed all FMVSS impact and flame spread requirements. The designer two‐tone inlay provides a custom appearance not found in any other fifth wheel.

Great looking Corian sink covers are designed to sit flush with the countertop to create lots of extra work space in the kitchen.

Sanibel’s huge kitchen sink was designed for the multi‐needs of the busy RV’er. The bowl is deep and large enough for pots, pans, pitchers, lots of dishes and even 5 gallon buckets!
High Arching Faucet With Pull‐Out Sprayer
In order to fully utilize Sanibel’s large sink bowl, a high arching faucet will better allow for cleaning of all your large cooking utensils. The residential pull‐out sprayer makes cleaning the sink or your disher much easier.

Sanibel offers one of the largest Pots & Pans storage areas in the industry. This super‐
sized convenience is intelligently designed with a 3/8” bottom panel that will easily handle the extra weight of heavy skillets and large pans.

Often times in other units, you give up a lot of pantry space when you upgrade to a 12’
SBS refrigerator – NOT WITH SANIBEL! Every model has large, multi‐function pantry storage areas for your kitchen food items.

Because LED lights do not create nearly as much heat as an incandescent bulb we use them at the seating areas to greatly increase your comfort.

Feature – Extra Large Steps Onto Upper Deck
Again, safety is a priority, so we’ve made all of our steps to the upper deck very wide with a larger than normal landing area.
Feature – Safety Handle at Stairs
This Safety Handle is perfect for providing additional balance when going up or down the steps. A similar handle is placed inside the main entrance for additional safety.
Feature – Direct Flow Heat Duct Into Bathroom
It’s hard to believe but not all fifth wheels have heat ducts in the bathroom. You will stay warm and comfortable in all climates with Sanibel’s direct flow heat duct.

This handy feature is a great place to store soaps, shampoos, and other showering essentials. You can never have too many recepts, so we placed an outlet under the side of the bed for additional electrical convenience.

With Sanibel, you’re ready to go camping as soon as you take delivery because it is standard with a huge 24” LCD Television in the bedroom. In typical Sanibel intelligence, the TV is mounted on a wall thus preserving precious overhead storage space.

For industry‐leading stability, the engineers at Sanibel have placed the jack legs on the outside of the I‐beam and angled them out at a two‐degree angle. “SECURE STANCE” FEATURE
Nine Inch Round Foot Pads
For additional stability, the foot pads have been upgraded from the usual 6X9 pads commonly found on electric jacks. These 9”
round pads offer 400% more compression area than standard 6X9 pads.

Everyone takes hoses, cords, and other items that will be conveniently stored on these utility hooks mounted in the front storage compartment.
Feature – Hydraulic Selector Valves
Sometimes you only need to open one of your slide rooms and the Hydraulic Slide Selector Valves offer this convenience. A quick quarter turn closes the valve and will make the slide inoperable. This is also a great safety feature at the campground once you are set‐up.

The innovative Kantleak Control Panel cleverly packages many of the normal connections found in an RV into an all‐in‐
one easy‐to‐use switching panel. You’re going to love this intelligent convenience.
Brass Water Inlet
A single connection services all of your water and winterization needs. Simply turn the valve on the Control Panel to the appropriate setting for each. In another intelligent move, we specified the fitting to be brass for year’s of leak free connections.
City Fixtures Setting
With your water supply connected to the Water Inlet, this valve setting diverts water directly to your RV faucets and fixtures just like the commonly used “City Water Fill”.

City Fill Tank Setting
With your water supply connected to the Water Inlet, this valve setting diverts water directly to your fresh water tank and fills it in Power Mode. A job that usually takes a long time is now completed in minutes with this handy Power Fill setting.
Normal Setting
This valve setting is used when water is to be pumped directly from the fresh water tank with the on‐board water pump.
Sanitize/Winterize Setting
Winterizing your Sanibel is extremely easy with the Sanitize/Winerize setting. Simply hook a short hose to the Water Inlet and insert the other end into a container of anti‐
freeze. Once you Bypass the water heater, (next slide) you’re ready to winterize.

Water Heater Setting
Your Kantleak Control Panel has a built‐in Water Heater Bypass setting. Shown here in Bypass mode, the system is ready to accept RV grade winterizer while protecting your water heater.
Outside Shower With 10’ Flex Hose
The user‐friendly Outside Shower has a flexible 10’ stretch hose and offers both hot and cold water.
Holding Tank Gate Valve Handles
If you’ve ever crawled under your fifth wheel trying to pull a gate valve handle behind a tire or under a slide, you will appreciate the remote Holding Tank Gate Valves located in the UDC – Intelligent and convenient!

Battery Disconnect
Eliminate annoying battery drain and ensure that you are always fully charged by utilizing the handy Battery Disconnect switch in the UDC.
Black Tank Flush
The Black Tank Flush is a convenient hook‐
up that allows for water to be “sprayed”
into the black tank via special spray heads that help to keep your black tank clean.
Low Point Drain Shut‐Offs
Draining the water from your water lines is simple and easy with the Low Point Drain Shut‐Offs that are located in the UDC. With the valves located inside this heated compartment, you don’t have to worry about the lines freezing from outside‐in.

Convenient Overhead Light
This innocent looking feature will be greatly appreciated when you’re trying to utilize the UDC at night.
“No Mess” Drain Tube
Experienced RV’ers know that you often end up with a wet, muddy mess under your water connections by the end of your trip. Sanibel’s UDC is smartly designed to catch the annoying water drips and funnel them down through the drain tube where a simple 5 gallon bucket can be used to collect the water eliminating the giant mud puddle.

Cable and Satellite Connections
Inside the UDC, there are separate digital‐
compatible RG6 coax connections for BOTH cable and satellite to your main television.

110 Electrical GFI Outlet
For added Convenience, a handy 110 Outlet is installed in the Universal Docking Center on the off door side of your Sanibel. For additional safety, the outlet is GFI protected.
Feature ‐ Upgraded Exterior Range Vent
Have you ever noticed that the Range Vent on every RV looks weathered and faded in a short amount of time? Not on Sanibel! This upgraded vent has extra UV protection to keep it looking new for years and it is also engineered to eliminate pesky water leaks common during transit and high winds.

Heavy Duty 7,000# Axles
Sanibel is equipped with heavy duty 7,000 pound axles that are ready for the most rugged road trips.
Heavy Duty 8‐Lug Hubs
Again, safety is a priority with Sanibel so all of our wheels are mounted with heavy duty 8‐lug hubs.
“SUPER LUBE” Axle Hubs
Do it yourself maintenance is a snap with Sanibel’s Super Lube greaseable axle hubs. Just connect a standard grease gun to the zirk fitting on the axle hub and lubricate your inner and outter bearings without removing the wheel or the hub. The grease will fill the entire bearing cavity allowing complete submersion.

Nine Point Greasable “Wet” Bolts
The highly intelligent suspension on Sanibel has a nine‐point lubricating system that will provide years of additional performance with proper maintenance.
Long Lasting ½” Shackle Plates
The heavy duty Shackle Plates on Sanibel are twice as thick as many of the leading competitors offering many years of trouble‐
free performance.
Long Lasting Brass Bushings
Most fifth wheels use thin, plastic bushings to house the suspension bolts – not Sanibel. The long lasting brass bushings in Sanibel will ensure premium performance and long lasting durability.

Feature – DOT Approved Deep Tint Safety Glass
Extra deep tint windows keep your interior cool during the summer and protected from harmful UV rays. These windows are DOT approved safety glass and the black frames won’t discolor over time like the commonly used white frames.
Feature – 50 AMP Service With Detachable Cord
50 AMP service is standard on all Sanibels. The connection is an easy‐to‐use marine connection.
Feature – Heavy Duty Electric Rear Stabilizer Jacks
“One Touch” electric rear stabilizer jacks offer easy and quick set‐up with over 5000 pounds of stabilizing capacity. These jacks also automatically adjust to the terrain with both legs having equal pressure. “The Intelligent Fifth Wheel”

Feature – Rear Fiberglass Cap With Automotive Styling
The rear cap on Sanibel provides superior exterior styling and appearance. An additional benefit of a rear cap is that it will “overlap” the sidewall eliminating water leaks in the corners.

Want to securely haul your expensive mountain bikes? This heavy duty 2” receiver has a tow capacity of 3,000 pounds and a tongue load rating of 300 pounds. Go ahead, Sanibel can take it!

Sanibel’s extra long drip spouts will keep the water from running down the side of your fifth wheel and minimize the annoying black streaks that often form on the side of your unit. Feature – 30” Wide Radius Corner Entry Door
Sanibel offers one of the widest entry doors on any fifth wheel. This 30” wide model makes it easy to carry large items like coolers thru your entrance without banging and scraping your hands.

Sanibel brings motor‐home style cooling to a fifth wheel. The unique design of Quiet Cool is 25% more efficient and 75% quieter than other units. Plus, Sanibel is standard with a high efficiency 15,000 BTU air conditioner for maximum cooling.
Feature – 10 Gallon XT Water Heater With Mixing Valve
This innovative water heater mixes super‐
heated water stored in the tank with cold water from your supply lines to provide 16 gallons of on‐demand hot water with an industry‐leading recovery rate of 19 gallons per hour. WOW – Sanibel intelligent!

Feature – 90 AMP 12 Volt Convertor
Sometimes, bigger is better. Sanibel is standard with a high capacity 90 AMP 12 Volt Power Converter that will provide plenty of power for all your 12 volt requirements.

5/8” One Piece Floor Decking
In order to provide long‐term strength and durability, the main floor of Sanibel is built using a 5/8” one‐piece layer of top decking. No popping seams and less potential for annoying squeaks.
Laminated, Aluminum Slide Out End Walls
Just like the end wall, the slide room is typically a place where manufacturer cut corners in construction – not Sanibel. The slide out end walls are made with the same aluminum, laminated construction.
Laminated, Aluminum Slide Roofs
Your slide out roof is one of the most critical areas of your RV so Sanibel goes the extra mile to assure your complete satisfaction and long term durability. These strong roofs are designed to support hundreds of pounds and can easily be walked on during periodic maintenance or to clean off debris.

Welded Construction
Unlike many of our competitors, Sanibel’s aluminum studs are welded ‐ NOT screwed together ‐ to provide long term strength and durability.
100% Glue Coverage on All Laminated Parts
Prime Time’s advanced glue applicator provides 100% glue coverage on every sheet of our plywood substrate. The glue is mixed with a special dye that glows “purple” under the fluorescent black light of the applicator that clearly indicates to our production team full coverage is being achieved.
EGS Backers in Walls and Floors
Sanibels are laminated with electro‐
galvanized sheet metal backer plates in the walls and floors to provide for strong, secure anchor points for cabinets and interior walls. This picture shows EGS backer above a window that will provide an anchor point for an overhead cabinet. “The Intelligent Fifth Wheel”

Double Insulation in Roof (R‐14)
Two layers of fiberglass insulation are carefully packed into the roof between the rafters to provide an initial rating of R‐14.
Radiant Shield Insulation In Roof (R‐38)
Before the roof decking is installed, a layer of Radiant Shield reflective insulation is stretched over the entire roof. This advanced material provides an additional insulation factor equivalent to R‐38.

3” Hi Density EPS Foam In Main Floor (R‐14)
Superior insulation properties are one of the main features of Sanibel’s 3” laminated main floor. Using a high density EPS foam in the lamination process yields an initial R‐14 rating.
Radiant Shield Insulation Under
Main Floor (R‐38)
The laminated main floor of the Sanibel is wrapped on the bottom side with a layer of Radiant Shield Insulation before it is secured on top of the chassis. This advanced material provides an additional insulation factor equivalent to R‐38.
Double Insulation In Front And Rear Walls (R‐14)
Both the front and rear walls of the Sanibel are carefully insulated with two layers of fiberglass insulation providing an initial R‐14 rating.

Radiant Shield Insulation In Front And Rear Walls (R‐38)
After applying fiberglass insulation to the front and rear walls, an additional layer of Radiant Shield Insulation is installed. This advanced material provides an additional insulation factor equivalent to R‐38.
Radiant Shield Insulation On Slide Room Floors (R‐38)
To help keep the interior of your Sanibel comfortable, a layer of Radiant Shield Insulation is installed on the slide room floors providing an additional insulation factor equivalent to R‐38.
Enclosed Underbelly
Using a lightweight, yet very strong corrugated ABS material, Prime Time completely encloses the underbelly of the Sanibel. This protects the vital components in your chassis, provides extra insulation properties, and ensures smooth air flow under the RV during transit.
CONSTRUCTION
Radiant Shield Insulation Wrapped Holding Tanks (R‐38)
This Sanibel innovation is truly intelligent! Utilizing advanced Radiant Shield Insulation to wrap the heat pad and tank, the contents of the holding tanks are protected from the cold better than any other fifth wheel in the industry.
Electric Holding Tank Heat Pads
To prevent the contents of your holding tanks from freezing, Sanibel uses 12 Volt heating pads. This is a far superior application than using forced air from the furnace and you can heat your tanks during transit.
Enclosed And Heated Water Lines
Unless you are going to wrap your galley water lines with heat tape, there’s very little you can do to prevent them from freezing in cold weather – UNTIL NOW! Sanibel runs it’s galley water lines in an aluminum tube adjacent to the heat duct. They are completely heated and protected from the cold exterior temperatures.

Heated Universal Docking Center
Many of the components in your UDC need to be protected from cold temperatures so we installed a 2” heat duct into the UDC. INTELLIGENT THERMAL PACKAGE
Heated Low Point Drain Valves
If your low point drain valves are located outside your unit with no heat, they are very vulnerable to freezing from the outside in –
NOT WITH SANIBEL! We keep the water inside the unit where it is heated and protected.
Heated Pass Thru Storage
Sanibel heats and protects the contents of your pass thru storage area by installing a vent on the bottom side of your upper deck heating plenum.

In order to resist rusting, all Sanibel frames are sprayed with a high quality powder coated material.
Feature – One Piece Rubber Roof With 12 Year Warranty
Your long term satisfaction is guaranteed with Sanibel’s heavy gauge EPDM roof. Complete with a 12 year warranty this material will resist the annoying chalking and fading that often leads to black run‐off marks appearing on the side of your trailer.
