Dear Chocolate Fantasy attendees,
Welcome to the second annual Chocolate Fantasy. We hope you enjoy yourself as you
sample the great foods and take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that will be
presented. Thank you for joining us at today’s great event. All of the proceeds from the
Chocolate Fantasy Auction and Dinner will go directly to funding youth activities here
locally in Kamiah. The wonderful thing about today is that you can make a direct impact/
difference on seeing that Kamiah youth have safe, family friendly and alcohol- and drugfree activities. Most of the funding for Kamiah Community Partner’s Coalition (KCPC) is through
national, state and private foundation grants. While we do get a number of grants, most
of them require that we also raise a matching amount in order to get the grant and to use
the funding. That is the purpose of this event. We will have some fun, we will walk away
with some good deals, but ultimately we will have helped our young people and our
community.
KCPC is not an island unto itself. Active members are from many segments of our
community. We are health care workers, police officers, business owners, mothers,
fathers, students, grant writers, retired professionals, school employees, etc… KCPC is
also part of a national system of organizations that use the best research, best practices
and experiences and best information available to reduce drug and alcohol use in young
people. We are not recreating the wheel here with KCPC. We have many successful
CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) groups and leaders across the
United States that mentor, train and resource us.
KCPC has won some pretty prestigious awards both nationally and regionally
including the 2009 CADCA National Chairman’s Award, the 2010 Region 2 State
Prevention Award, and the 2011 Region 2 Patricia Kempthorne Community Service
Leader Award. This means we have the attention of national groups that specialize
in helping young people reduce alcohol and drug use. It also means we have a great
community and together we are accomplishing important things that really make a
difference. As we work together we continue to make great strides towards a healthier
community.
If you want good results reducing drug and alcohol abuse in young lives, then
your generous support of KCPC and this event is a great choice. With KCPC your
contributions will be added to grant monies and best strategies from around the nation.
Enjoy the dinner, bid on the great packages available tonight and feel good about doing
something positive for the youth of our community.
