MESSAGE FROM CEO
A NEW HORIZON FOR SCENTSY
Thanks to all who attended Stampede: Convention 2011 or
logged in for Live from Convention at home! Heidi and I are
so grateful to all of you who make it possible for us to hold
such a spectacular event. Reconnecting with you and getting
a boost of Scentsy spirit energizes us, too, and inspires us to
work even harder for you as we strive forward.
A stampede develops as a few align around a common
motivation, guided by a clear direction to create movement
and influence. It’s a system that works because it has two key
elements: a motivating principle that drives it and a guiding
principle that directs the movement in a coordinated fashion.
A system only works when it has motivation and guidance.
A sailing ship is also a system that works. Sails are set to catch
the wind that pushes the ship forward—motivation. But you
need a rudder to guide that ship in the right direction to
arrive at the desired destination. The wind alone will push it
forward, but the rudder guides the ship safely home.
With Scentsy, I often say I am the sail and Heidi is the rudder.
Heidi and I are a system that works. My ideas motivate others
best when they are validated and guided by Heidi’s strong
business instincts, intuition, and caring.
Scentsy began as a small company with big potential. We
developed a simple system, which eventually evolved into
something more complex—but it still works. A complex
system that works is always made up of simple systems
that work. And as we become expert at something, like with
Scentsy, a complex system becomes simple and gives us the
capacity to take on more.
When Heidi and I first started the Scentsy business, we
melted wax in crockpots and mixed wax, fragrance oils, and
dye in metal pitchers. It was new to us and seemed like a
complex process. But we made that simple system work
through experience and replication. Then we were able to
take on more and introduced automation. That automation
was new and complex, but soon that too became simple, so
we took on more. We now have comprehensive processes
on high-speed pouring systems that work efficiently and
effectively. But, if we hadn’t started with the simple process
of mixing wax, fragrance oil, and dye in metal pitchers
by hand, the high-speed automation wouldn’t work as
efficiently as it does today.

In the beginning, we saw the potential and envisioned the
day Scentsy would become an efficient national business.
As we approached that horizon, we realized Scentsy would
become a multinational corporation. Now it’s time to move
to the next horizon.
We’ve heard from many Consultants that it’s becoming more
challenging to schedule Scentsy parties, which leads to the
false assumption that Scentsy is losing steam or becoming
saturated in certain markets. The myth is that direct selling
companies grow rapidly and fade rapidly, so Consultants
should find a new opportunity to make up the difference.
That’s just not true. Scentsy still has huge potential and
tremendous opportunity here and throughout the world.
What is true is that parties—in some regions—are difficult to
schedule for some Consultants, but not for others. And not
for the reasons you might think.
In areas where Scentsy is just starting out, the challenge is
to build awareness. Parties are difficult to schedule at first
because no one knows what Scentsy is, but as people hear
about Scentsy, parties become easier to book, and are
ideal vehicles for selling and sponsoring. As people become
familiar with Scentsy, they no longer feel they need to attend
a party. Instead, they call their Consultant or go online.
Online and phone-in sales increase in mature businesses
because there are experienced customers. Sales aren’t
reduced with loyal customers, they’ve just moved to a more
efficient ordering process.
But what does suffer as these markets mature and parties
are no longer the most efficient model for sales is Consultant
sponsoring. Parties are still the best opportunities for people
to see Consultants enjoying success through simple means
and realize they can do it, too. When sponsoring slows a
bit, people begin to believe Scentsy has run its course. It’s a
myth, a false conclusion.
The potential for Scentsy sales and sponsoring success
still exists. Scentsy sales in 2011 will nearly match the sales
of 2004 through 2010 combined—and it’s the same with
sponsoring. Our recruiting numbers have nearly doubled
since this time last year. We are going in the right direction,
we just need to offer additional motivation to schedule
parties and sponsor new Consultants. Because we have
made our complex systems work by optimizing the simple
systems underneath, we have a capacity to evolve and do
more.
So what’s the next horizon? Within the next year, Scentsy will
introduce a completely new product line not connected to
warmers and wax. A step further than a line extension, or
anything we’ve done before—a whole new brand with a new
name, new colors, new products, a new separate catalog,
and a new party experience.
Consultants will be able to sell these products using their
existing downlines, sponsor new Consultants into their
existing teams, place orders on their existing Workstation,
and collect PRV from the sales of the new brand as well as
the Scentsy brand.
Put another way, before our next Convention, we will
undertake the most successful product line launch in direct
selling history. We are at a stage of change and opportunity
at Scentsy when we can benefit from Scentsy’s friendship,
size, and growth to get the most out of what we’ve already
built. We have the motivation and guidance. Now it’s time to
take the next step.
These are exciting times at Scentsy! We are very grateful
to our amazing Scentsy Consultants. Your talents and
dedication to Scentsy have helped us grow quickly and
reach the point where we are ready for a new challenge. We
look forward to cresting the next horizon together!

SPRING SPRINT
Last spring, dozens of Scentsy employees and executives traveled across the country—in highly visible Scentsy RVs and
trailers—to bring high-energy training, fantastic camaraderie, and unforgettable fun to thousands of Scentsy Consultants.
One team took their RV on a northern route, and the other team travelled southward. Together, our teams covered nearly
9,000 miles, visited 27 cities in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, and held regional meetings with almost 20,000 Consultants
over the span of an entire month.
Spring Sprint was exhausting, exhilarating, and incredible. In addition to providing training opportunities for more
Consultants than ever before, we were able to spread Scentsy spirit through our public relations efforts region by region.
During and after our last Spring Sprint, you enrolled 14,000 new recruits in February alone—that’s almost three times the
previous year’s recruiting for February!
With such successful results, it got us thinking. What if Spring Sprint wasn’t just a one-time thing?
In 2012, we’ll take to the road for our second Spring Sprint. We’ll travel the continent from January 25 to February 18, bringing
you BRAND-NEW training, NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN products and business tools, and a whole lot of fun! And yes, there will be a
Scentsy Success store at every location.
We’ll include a few stops in Canada in 2012, as well as a trip down to Puerto Rico. And like last time, we’ve selected cities
based on how convenient they are to the most Consultants. In fact, 80 percent of our North American Consultants live within
a four-hour drive of one of our target cities!
The Southern Route will make stops in:

STAMPEDE: CONVENTION 2011
LIVE FROM CONVENTION WEBCAST
The 2011 Live From Convention webcast was a great success and the perfect opportunity for those who
were unable to attend Convention to share in much of the excitement as it happened in Texas—from the
comfort of their own living rooms.
On Thursday, August 4, a total of 4,584 computers were logged in to the Live From Convention coverage,
and on Friday, August 5, a total of 3,278 computers were logged in to the webcast. And most viewers
didn’t watch alone! Many people who registered also hosted Convention “bashes” where groups of all
sizes gathered to watch Live From Convention together. It was an innovative way to get Scentsy teams
motivated and excited about all of the announcements and happenings at Scentsy.
Viewers who were registered on the Scentsy Forum and who saw the Scentsy Bar Man on-screen holding
a Scentsy Success item were eligible to win that item. They just had to be the first person to correctly
identify the item on the Scentsy Forum. Congratulations to Tamara W., Mendy E., Stephanie M., and Amy
T.—the four winners of our Scentsy Bar Man viewing contest!

Convention can now watch the archived webcast and relive those inspirational two days! And this time around, the

webcast. A link to the archived webcast was sent out by
email, and all Live From Convention content will be available
to view through September 7.

CONVENTION ANNOUNCEMENTS
PREMIUM WARMER PRICING
Scentsy has consistently designed and manufactured quality products with a strong value proposition that are easy to sell.
We have partnered with talented artisans and manufacturers in China to produce our warmers and they do a beautiful job.
We want that relationship to continue, and we also want them to feel good about the work they do for Scentsy.
For several years now, Scentsy has been doing our best to hold off an across-the-board price increase. We have resisted the
pressure to raise prices by trying alternative options such as reducing Combine and Save bundles, operational efficiency,
and aggressive negotiating. We’ve now pushed our manufacturing partner on price as far as we can. Their costs, as well as
Scentsy’s, have substantially increased. If we continue to aggressively negotiate without some concession on price, we will
begin to negatively impact the quality of the products and harm the relationship, which will in turn hurt you and your business.
For the good of the Scentsy business, we have to raise prices. We realize this is challenging for all of us and we would not
be taking such a step if it were not absolutely necessary. We do not want to remove the Combine and Save bundles or
implement a price increase on all Scentsy products, so instead we have decided on a selective and strategic price increase
for certain warmers only.
While all our products are built to our high standards of quality, not all warmers are built the same. There are four major
design elements that make some warmers more expensive to manufacture than others. Those elements are:
• The type of clay used. Porcelain is more expensive than some other materials we use, such as dolomite or stoneware.
• The type and color of the glaze.
• The number of embellishments and/or decals and the labor involved with their application.
In addition, some warmers also have extensive hand-painting which adds complexity, time, and cost to the process.
For these reasons, we’re introducing a new premium line with a slightly higher price tag. The premium line will be made up of
existing warmers as well as beautiful new warmers introduced in the Fall/Winter 2011 Catalog.
• Premium Full-Size Scentsy Warmers
will be $35 (USD) and $42 (CAD) with 35 PRV.
• Regular Full-Size Scentsy Warmers will still be $30 (USD) and $36 (CAD) with 30 PRV.
In this way, customers who want to experience Scentsy but may have a limited budget can still buy Full-Size Scentsy Warmers
at $30. Others, who love the higher-end designs and materials, can opt for the Premium Warmers at $35.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause. No price increase is ideal, but as we found with the Plug-In
Scentsy Warmer price increase last fall, sales shouldn’t be significantly impacted.

CHANGES TO COMBINE AND SAVE OFFERINGS
The Combine and Save spread has been moved toward the end of the Fall/Winter 2011 Catalog and we changed some of
our offerings to make it easier for you to upsell. Once your customers choose the products they love, you can flip forward
to encourage a larger order with Combine and Save options. The Scentsy System packages have been removed to help you
boost your sales. And if they’d like to earn even more Scentsy product, you’ll only have to turn the page to point out our Host
and Join opportunities.
There are two new Mid-Size Combine and Save packages. New Perfect Mid-Size Scentsy includes: six Scentsy Bars of your
choice, plus two Mid-Size Scentsy Warmers for $68 ($12 savings). The new premium option is available for $75 ($15 savings).
Premium options were also added to the Perfect Full-Size Scentsy bundle for $85 ($15 savings) and the Scentsy Companion
System for a price of $60 ($10 savings).
We’ve also introduced a New Scent Sampler for $40 ($7 savings), which includes one each of the following products: Scent
Circle, Travel Tin, Room Spray, Fragrance Foam, Scent Pak, and Solid Perfume.
For customers who love the Scentsy System package, you can still offer them a great deal by suggesting the Scentsy 3-Pack
with any regular (not premium) Full-Size Warmer for a total of $44 (USD) / $53 (CAD), which is essentially the old Scentsy FullSize System for only a few dollars more.

We’re thrilled to bring you the Fall/Winter 2011 Catalog and introduce this season’s newest offerings!
Based on your feedback and overall sales results, we’ve made a few changes to the catalog layout. We
especially hope you are as excited as we are about the newly designed fragrance pages. These bright
and beautiful spreads will help highlight the theme of each of our seven fragrance collections. With
each new season, our creative teams continue doing their best to make sure the catalog becomes an
ever-better sales and recruiting tool for YOU.
New Premium Full-Size Scentsy Warmers
We’ve added a new category to our warmer offering: Premium Warmers. These elegant warmers are hand-crafted with
higher-end materials and finished with decorative ornaments and distinctive shapes. Extra time, care, and artistry are
required to create these elaborate warmers. Because of this, Premium Full-Size Scentsy Warmers are priced at $35 (USD).
Toscana Collection
This highly collectible trio was inspired by three of the most
popular themes in Tuscan design.
They are: Aia (eye-EE-yah), Fiore (fee-O-ray), and Chianti (keyAHN-tee).

Imperial Collection
Shale and Flint are the first Scentsy warmers to be crafted
out of natural slate. The stone varies in tone and texture—
even more than a reactive-glaze, meaning each one will have
unique details. Flint is crafted in natural green slate, while
Shale is made of black slate. Inside each warmer, a wrought
iron trivet supports a dish made of sea green glass.
The Full-Size Warmers in our Imperial Collection have now
been upgraded to premium status because of their intricate
details and embellishments, as were Baby’s Breath, Bamboo
Tali, Casbah, Celtic Love Knot, Cherry Blossom, Dotty, Fossil

Hero Collection Warmers
We’re introducing a new line of warmers this catalog season
to celebrate our civil servants: the Hero Collection. These
new warmers—Police Officer and Firefighter—honor the brave
men and women in uniform who protect and serve, day in
and day out.
We know there are other heroes among us, such as
Emergency Medical Technicians and Canadian Mounted
Police. We’d love to honor these groups as well, and our
Product Development team is pursuing possible designs and
licenses for future products.
New Premium Mid-Size Scentsy Warmers
Like our top-of-the-line Premium Full-Size Warmers, our new Premium Mid-Size Warmers are hand-crafted with higher-end
materials and great care and artistry. Premium Mid-Size Warmers are priced at $30 (USD).
Nursery Collection
Each of our Nursery Collection warmers, along with ABCs and Cupcake, has been upgraded to premium status because of
their intricate details and embellishments.
Mod Collection
Our new Mod Collection is designed for the trendsetter.
Each warmer in this trio—Rosso, Cosmos, Hydro, and Rosso—
combines a classic shape with a modern pattern, up-to-theminute color, and a high-gloss finish.
New individual standard Mid-Size Warmers include La Paz,
Chisel, and Graphite.
DIY Scentsy Warmers and DIY Theme Packs
We’ve simplified the DIY Scentsy Warmers and Theme Packs line to include just the favorites: Square White and Square Black.
With our new Theme Pack designs we were able to reduce their size just enough to cut the price in half! Now you can get a DIY
Warmer and Theme Pack for just $35 in the U.S. and $42 in Canada. And each individual Theme Pack costs just $5 in the U.S.
and $6 in Canada. The new Theme Packs are: Friend, House Rules, Peace Sign, Relax, and Skulls.
All of our new Theme Packs, except for Friend, are available in black and white options. Black Theme Packs are best when
applied to Square White and White Theme Packs look best on the Square Black. Friend looks great on both! Existing Theme
Packs will be available while supplies last in Closeouts on your Personal Website (PWS).

We have several adorable new additions to the Plug-In
Scentsy Warmer Collection—five of which are smaller
versions of our best-selling Full-Size Warmers: Boho Chic,
Charity, Charlemagne, Lenore, and Wrangler. We also added
two never-before-seen designs: Santa Fe and Pop!

Our Favorites Collection was updated to include 10 year-round fragrances
instead of 15.
Fall & Winter Collection
New Fall & Winter scents include: Black Ruby, Festival of Trees, and Whiteout.
Silver Bells, our November 2010 Scent of the Month, was also added to the
catalog.
Corner Café
Corner Café now includes our June 2011 Scent of the Month, Peach à la Mode,
and our July 2011 Scent of the Month, Happy Birthday.
Scentsy Man Collection

NEW SCENTSY COUNTRY MANAGERS
We are pleased to announce the creation of several new positions to support our continued growth in international markets.
For almost two years, Dan Orchard has
been the country manager for Canada—
a job he embraced wholeheartedly.
Dan joined Scentsy in June 2009 as
the International Manager. He was
responsible for all aspects of Scentsy’s
launch into Canada in October 2009,
and has been the Canada Country
Manager from the beginning.
Effective immediately, Dan will be
moving to a new role as General
Manager, Scentsy Europe. Dan will be
responsible for working with Scentsy
Consultants in Europe, and will play
an important role in introducing them
to Scentsy’s core values and business
principles just as he has done for the
past two years in Canada.
Paul Klassen, an MBA-trained manager
and Canada native, will replace Dan
Orchard as Canada Country Manager.
Paul has been a Scentsy employee
since January 2010, and has several
years of experience in Supply Chain
and Logistics—in addition to experience
building a team for another direct
selling company. Paul is extremely
excited about the opportunity to work
with Canadian Consultants and to
facilitate additional growth as Scentsy
moves into the exciting fall/winter
selling season.
Mark Maliwauki, Director of
International Operations, has been
named Puerto Rico Country Manager.
Mark joined Scentsy’s Strategy/
International team in March 2010.
He has 22 years of experience in
international business management
and international market/region/
country development spanning
small start-up companies to large
Fortune 100 companies. He holds
an International Masters of Business
Administration, and he also speaks
Spanish. Mark is looking forward to
using his knowledge and experience to
serve our Consultants in Puerto Rico.

CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE AWARD
The Circle of Excellence recognizes the very highest achievers—exemplary leaders who nurture their teams and go above and
beyond to help others reach lofty goals.
Earning a spot in the Circle of Excellence is no easy feat—it takes years of dedication and commitment. To earn this high
honor, you must be an active SuperStar Director for at least one year, and must have six first-generation SuperStar Directors
on your team. At Stampede: Convention 2011, we honored the first person to achieve the newest and highest Scentsy honor.
Nicole Ferland of Kaysville, Utah, became the first inductee into the Circle of Excellence, an achievement she earned in
November 2010.
Orville and Heidi called Nicole personally last November to give her the great news. Her response was characteristically
gracious—she gave all the credit to her team. “Thank you all so much, but I don’t really feel I’m the one who made this happen.
It’s because I have these amazing people on my team who know what they want and aren’t afraid to work hard for it!”
Nicole joined Scentsy on March 14, 2005, becoming one of the first hundred Scentsy Consultants. She was given the Scentsy
Shining Star Award at Convention 2007, thanks to enthusiastic nominations by her team and fellow Consultants. Now, just six
years after launching her Scentsy business, Nicole has achieved Scentsy’s top award by helping others in her downline reach
Scentsy’s highest rank!
It takes an outstanding person to reach the Circle of Excellence. It’s not just about the number of people you recruit or the
income you earn each month. It’s all about the lives you touch. Nicole is truly a person who builds herself by building up
others, and who builds her business by helping others build their businesses.
Nicole personifies the Scentsy values of Simplicity, Authenticity, and Generosity. She has endless stores of energy and an
unlimited supply of passion for Scentsy. When Nicole achieves a new level of success, she doesn’t rest on her laurels. She
asks herself, “What’s next? What more can I do?” She is always looking for the next mountain to climb.

SHINING STAR AWARD
Each year at Convention, Scentsy honors one special
Consultant who has contributed the most to fulfilling the
Scentsy mission, or who best exemplifies the core values
we strive to represent. The Shining Star Award is the most
prestigious accolade a Scentsy Consultant can achieve.
A heartfelt congratulations goes to this year’s Shining Star,
Angie Williams of West Jordan, Utah!
Angie first learned about Scentsy when she overheard two
women in a salon talking about warmers. She was curious,
so she asked, “What’s a warmer?” That conversation
resulted in Angie going home to check it all out on the
Internet. And she loved what she saw.
Two weeks later, on April 1, 2006, Angie signed on to become
a Scentsy Consultant. “The only regret I have,” she says, “is
waiting those two weeks!”
Five years later, Angie is a SuperStar Director with 1,400 people in her downline and 131 on her team—41 of whom are
directors. “When I first became a Consultant, I never, ever expected I’d have this level of success. I vowed that I would reach
out to other people, just as my Scentsy friends had helped me in the early days.” She says she wasn’t aiming for the top—but
her enthusiasm for Scentsy and her Scentsy family was contagious. “I tell my team all the time to embrace the journey and
have fun. If people focus on that and do their best, they’ll be successful.”
The Shining Star Award is especially meaningful because the recipient is nominated
by their fellow Consultants as THE person who best embodies the Scentsy values
of Simplicity, Authenticity, and Generosity. Scentsy received hundreds of letters this
year, filled with inspiring stories of Consultants who truly live the Scentsy mission
and personify its values. Heidi and Orville read every one of the nominating letters,
and narrowed the field to six finalists. Angie was selected from those finalists.
Angie, who earned the Annual Mentor Award in 2007 and 2008, says her heart
was pounding when she heard Heidi call out her name as this year’s Shining Star
Award recipient. “I thought I was just going to Convention to be part of a panel
discussion! Just being a finalist would have been reward enough,” she says. “It was
a surreal feeling and great to be acknowledged for my work. I am SO honored and
humbled to even have been nominated for the Shining Star Award.”
Asked about her work philosophy and her personal success, Angie replies as only
a Shining Star would, with a giving heart and a touch of humility. “If I can help
someone else, then I want to. It doesn’t matter if they’re on my team or not; it’s
just what you should do. To give of your time and your friendship is free. We can
give that all day long. People just need to make that choice.”

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
We have just returned from Stampede: Convention 2011. If you weren’t there,
you are probably wondering what a stampede has to do with Scentsy. Well, a
stampede starts with one—one animal, one idea, one Consultant. And from one, it
builds.
Just as one horse can set a whole herd charging across the prairie, one person can
perform a simple act that starts a stampede for good—and changes thousands of
lives for the better.
And what could be more Scentsy than that? A stampede is a symbol of the power
of one, multiplied by many. It is a symbol of what one person, one act, can do.
Several months ago, I came across a poem, “How many people does it take to
make a difference?”
It is about the power of one. Here are a few lines from it:

“One voice can speak with wisdom /
One heart can know what’s true /
One life can make a difference /
That difference starts with you.”
A few weeks later, I was listening to the radio when the Brandon Heath song “The
One” came on. Its story echoes the poem.
How will they think of you and me /
If it takes just one / JUST ONE /
What if I’m the one?”
And I started to think … What if I am the one? What if I’m the one who can make a
difference in the lives of others?
The very story of Scentsy is the story of …
… how the power of one transforms into the value of many.
… how one person’s actions, when spread to others, becomes a stampede of people gathering speed and momentum.
… how a small handful of generous and dedicated Consultants in 2004
transforms into a company of 110,000 current Consultants a short seven
years later.
Do you think only the rich, the famous, or a very special few individuals can use
their gifts and influence to change lives or touch other people?
Let’s take a little quiz. You don’t need paper or pencil, just think about the answers
to the following questions.

Can you answer all three questions? Not many can. I know I
can’t. Now here’s another set of questions.
1. Name the one teacher who helped you through school.
2. Name the one friend who helped you through a
difficult time.
3. T
hink of one person who made you feel special
and appreciated.
The people who made a difference to you are the ones who
touched your heart, the ones who cared about you—not the
ones with the most money, the best credentials, or the most
awards.
And you have the power to be that person to others, each
and every day.
There are so many inspiring stories about how ordinary men
and women—men and women just like YOU—create stampedes
that change lives. Right here in our Scentsy family we have
thousands of Consultants who use their businesses as valuable
tools to make profound differences in the lives of others.
Kara Lazinski, a Scentsy Director in Tuscaloosa, Alabama is
an example.
When tornadoes ripped through her town last spring, she
was horrified—as we all were—by the devastation left behind.
Her heart ached especially for the children. Kara’s response
was simple—and profound.
She launched Buddies of Hope.
Through her website and her Scentsy parties, she raises
money to buy Scentsy Buddies, which she gives to children
who have lost everything – their homes, their clothes, their
toys – in some cases even their parents.
Since April 28, the day after the tornado, Buddies of Hope
has given Scentsy Buddies to over 500 children in Tuscaloosa
and other areas struck by natural disaster.
Her work also inspired Scentsy Consultant Jamie Napierto
launch Buddies of Hope in Joplin, Missouri, when tornadoes
flattened much of that town in May.
And here’s something even more incredible. In June, we
were thrilled to take 1,550 Consultants and their families
on Scentsy’s Magical Memories incentive trip. They worked
so hard to earn it, and deserved to spend that week being
recognized for their achievements.
But, in true Scentsy fashion, something else happened.
SuperStar Director Karen Fettes and a group of other
Consultants organized a Buddies of Hope donation, right
there on site at Disney World. Consultants from all over the
country brought Buddies with them, and donated $5 per

Buddy to ship them to Tuscaloosa and Joplin, where they
could be given to children. Amazingly, 265 Buddies were
donated, and $875 was collected to ship them back to
Alabama and Missouri.
From a small act, a simple gesture, an incredible act of
giving spread through our Scentsy family.
Disney World may be the most magical place on earth—
but when Scentsy Consultants come together, we create
Scentsy magic.
But not all stampedes can measure their success in hard
numbers. Sometimes the impact is more subtle—but no
less powerful.
Take the example of Caitlin Boyle of Orlando, Florida. She
was taking night classes, hoping for a career change, while
holding down a demanding day job. On what she describes
as “one really bad day,” she felt completely overwhelmed
by the dual load of work and school.
A little introspection brought her to her senses. She
realized that the only thing holding her back was a poor
self-image. In bouts of what she described as “negative
self-talk,” she’d convinced herself that she simply wasn’t
smart enough to work and take classes at the same time.
Caitlin knew she wasn’t alone in her predicament. On
impulse, she decided to brighten the day for someone else.
She scribbled “You Are Beautiful” on a post-it note and stuck
it on a wall of a ladies’ room at Valencia Community College.
She took a picture of the note and wrote on a blog, “If this
little blog only does one productive thing, I hope it helps
readers realize how truly toxic negative self-talk is. It hurts
you emotionally, spiritually, and physically.”
Within three days, 75 people had sent her photos of
similar messages they’d posted. On the fourth day, Caitlin
launched a website called Operation Beautiful. Its mission:
“To post anonymous notes in public places for other
women to find. The point is that we are all beautiful. You
are enough ... just the way you are.”
Since then, tens of thousands of people have joined the
stampede, posting anonymous, positive messages in public
spots: in ladies’ rooms, libraries, hospitals, and elevators.
The simple words of hope and encouragement have
changed countless lives—and even saved some.
One 17-year-old girl, diagnosed with bulimia at age 14, told
Caitlin that a note had stopped her downward spiral. She’d
started her first diet at the age of 8 and spent her whole life

striving to be “perfect”—which to her meant thin. She was so
malnourished that she’d lost her hair and nearly all her tooth
enamel. She could no longer even stand up straight.
One day when she was hospitalized, therapists forced her to
eat a meal. She high-tailed it to the bathroom, intending to
throw up. And she saw a note that stopped her in her tracks.
It said, “You’re beautiful. You’re good enough.”
She told Caitlin it was the first time in years that she had
eaten solid food and not thrown up.
Today she’s out of treatment, eating normally, and well on
the road to health and well being.
Even with heroic examples like those to inspire us, it’s easy
to throw up our hands in despair and say, “The world today
is such a mess! How could anything I do even begin to solve
these catastrophic problems?”
Well, trust me: Just as one horse can start a stampede,
one person can perform one simple
act of kindness that spreads with the
power of the wind sweeping across
the Texas plains.
I know you ARE the one. Deep down, you know it too.
Today, let’s each make a commitment to tap the power that
lies within each one of us. All you need is a piece of paper or
a self-stick note!
Write loving, funny, affirming messages and post them where
others can see them: grocery store shelves, the mirror in
the ladies room at your office, your school library, or the
doctor’s office. Or, go directly to Scentsy’s new “Power of
One” webpage (launched from Convention), www.ScentsyTheOne.com and post an electronic note for others to see. If
you find someone else’s note and it is meaningful to you, take
a picture of yourself with it and go to Scentsy-TheOne.com to
upload your photos.

read new messages! Tell your friends, family, customers,
party Hosts—everyone you meet—about this opportunity to
make a difference in the simplest way.
Maybe your words of encouragement will bring hope to

Because the format of Stampede:
Convention 2011 was different from past
years and didn’t include workshop sessions,
we found a fun way to provide Consultants
with detailed training techniques.
Each Consultant who attended Convention
received a copy of the DVD called Scentsy
Day! Business-Boosting Strategies from
Consultants. This is the first component in the
Scentsy Showcase, which will include a series
of materials highlighting best practices straight
from Scentsy Consultants.
Earlier this year, we asked you to send in your
personal training videos and you responded
by sending hundreds of creative, informationpacked videos. We couldn’t use all of them, but
we took the ones that best represented a range of
training topics you are most passionate about. On
the Scentsy Day! DVD, you’ll be led through your
videos by a hilarious cast of characters. Ms. Shelly
Harrison, a Scentsy Consultant (actually an actress
playing one), has been invited to speak at “Scentsy
Day” to groups of students who have a lot to learn
about Scentsy—and pretty much everything else, too!
This funny, informative DVD is also available through

TEETER-TOTTER-A-THON
HALT THE HUNGER IN IDAHO
As many of you know, each year Scentsy sponsors a philanthropic campaign
within the local community as a way of giving back for the support the
community consistently gives to us. This year’s campaign is called “Halt the
Hunger” and it’s designed to address the growing issue of food insecurity in
Idaho by raising much-needed funds for the Idaho Foodbank.
This campaign is particularly special for Orville and Heidi as they understand
the hardships of trying to provide for a family with very limited resources.
While the Idaho Foodbank always welcomes food donations, this campaign is
focused on raising monetary contributions because the Foodbank is able to
provide three meals for every dollar it receives.
During the month of August, Orville and Heidi are pledging to match every
donation to the Idaho Foodbank, up to $300,000. By engaging businesses,
large donors, and families in Idaho, they hope to raise $600,000, or the
equivalent of 1.8 million meals. Scentsy’s gift is the largest matching campaign
in the Foodbank’s 27-year history.
Donations can be made at the designated website, www.haltthehunger.com. Be
sure to visit the site and track our progress throughout the month as we strive
to meet our goal. The website features a video of Heidi and Orville discussing
their commitment to ending food insecurity in Idaho. All contributions, big
or small, are welcome and each will bring us closer to obtaining our goal of
providing meals for those in need.
This summer we’re having fun with
some new ways to contribute more at
the home office. What we came up with
may sound a little strange, but it’s sure
to be a great time. The Scentsy TeeterTotter-A-Thon will be a companywide effort to raise funds for seven
children’s organizations to celebrate
Scentsy’s seventh anniversary. Scentsy
employees and executives are going to
ride a teeter totter for 84 straight hours
for charity!
Seven years is 84 months, so Heidi
and Orville will donate $84,000—one
thousand dollars for every hour of
the “up and down” fundraiser. For
every hour, Heidi and Orville get to
choose who rides the teeter totter!
Our home office staff, Consultants and
suppliers will have the chance to buy
as many hours as they can from the
Thompsons—for one thousand and
one dollars per hour. Whoever “owns”
the hour gets to decide who rides, and
all proceeds will go to the selected
children’s organizations.
We also have a special donation drive planned just for Scentsy employees. Apparently, the #1 item the Idaho Foodbank
cannot keep on their shelves is toilet paper. Unfortunately, food stamps do not buy personal items such as toilet paper, so
the Foodbank strives to provide these necessities for families in need, and now they need our help! So, during the week of
August 15 – 19, we will be hosting a toilet paper drive to help stock those shelves at the Idaho Foodbank! More details will be
communicated as the dates approach.
Let’s rally together to get the word out and help the Idaho Foodbank receive their largest donation yet! Keep an eye out
for more information coming your way very soon.
HALT THE HUNGER IN TEXAS
Idaho is not the only state where hunger is an issue. We asked for help contributing to this important cause as Scentsy
Consultants from across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico convened at Stampede: Convention 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas.
We invited Scentsy Consultants who attended Stampede: Convention 2011 to bring an extra $10 to donate to the food bank
in our host community. The contributions poured in and, thanks to our generous Consultants and corporate donations
Scentsy was able to raise $50,000 to benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

IT’S TRANSITION TIME!
At Scentsy, August is a transition month—the time we prepare to switch from the Spring/Summer 2011 Catalog season to the
new Fall/Winter 2011 Catalog season, which begins September 1.
During transition, we release new testers, new catalogs, and the discontinued item list one month before the new items
become available for purchase to make sure Consultants are well prepared for the new season. This year, our transition
materials were released on August 5 instead of August 1, to make sure our exciting new products were revealed for the first
time—live and in person—at Stampede: Convention 2011!

Starter Kits During Transition
From August 1 through August 31, the Consultant Starter Kit will include Spring/Summer 2011 testers and catalogs AND Fall/
Winter 2011 testers and catalogs at no additional cost. From September 1 through February 29, the Consultant Starter Kit will
include Fall/Winter 2011 testers and catalogs.
Tester Transition Sets
As we do with every catalog transition, Scentsy is offering Tester Transition Sets containing all the new and returning
fragrances featured in the new Fall/Winter 2011 Catalog. Each set contains 12 new fragrances, 9 returning fragrances, and 5
previous Scent of the Month fragrances. Tester Transition Sets will be available for the entire catalog season.

Shipping Times
One of the main reasons Scentsy has a two-week window for shipping times after the order is placed, even though we
typically ship much faster, is to allow for any additional time we may need to process orders during the spring and fall
transitions. Our manufacturing, picking, packing, and shipping teams need to switch cleanly and completely from the old
product line to the new product line. Be sure to set the right expectations with your customers with regard to shipping so
they know what to expect.

CONSULTANT CONNECTION
CHANGES TO SCENTSY CANCELLATION POLICY
Last year at Convention 2010, we celebrated having reached
the major milestone of enrolling Scentsy Consultant number
100,000. Do you realize that in just one year since then, we’re
now on the verge of enrolling our 200,000th Consultant? We
hope you know how incredible that is, and how incredible
you are.
Our job at the home office is to support your success. And
now, to make your success and the success of your teams
a little easier to achieve, we are making a change to our
Consultant cancellation policy.
Beginning September, 2011, we will change how and when
we cancel Consultants who have not maintained “active”
status. Currently, a Consultant must achieve 150 points in
PRV during at least one month in a consecutive three-month
period to maintain their accounts. We will keep that policy in
place through the month of August 2011.
Beginning next month, Consultants who have ANY PRV
points over a consecutive three-month period will maintain
their Consultant status. However, if they do not achieve the
requirement of 150 points in PRV during at least one month

in a consecutive three-month period, they will lose their
downlines. Their downlines will roll up to their Sponsor in
this case. If NO PRV is earned within the six-month period
ending on December 31, the Consultant’s account will be
cancelled on January 1 of the following year.
This change in policy means those Consultants who love
Scentsy but aren’t able to achieve 150 in PRV once every
three months can continue to sell Scentsy. A Consultant
would need to have NO PRV during the fall selling season to
be cancelled.
We believe this change will allow more Consultants to
stay with Scentsy, and were excited to announce this
change at Convention.
This policy change is just one example of how important
YOUR success is to us. Whether through online training,
conference calls with leading Consultants and members
of our Consultant Development Team, party tips on your
Workstation, or other tools for you to use to connect with
your customers and teams—we go all out to provide you
with the best.

CINDI ENDSLEY—OUTSTANDING SALES
Cindi Endsley got started with Scentsy because she wanted
to contribute to her family’s monthly income. “My husband
and I were feeling the pressures of the economy,” says Cindi. “I
knew with my current, full-time job of being a mom, wife, and
our children’s teacher, I would have very little time that I could
actually invest in a traditional job. I never thought I would end
up in a ‘sales’ position, but after researching Scentsy, there
was no way I could not become a Consultant. The company’s
core values aligned perfectly with mine.”
As a Scentsy Consultant, Cindi feels she’s setting a good
example. She says, “I believe that sometimes moms, especially
stay-at-home-moms, get put into a little ‘box.’ For me, raising
my children is the most important thing I will ever accomplish.
But sometimes it is not pretty. I cook, clean, referee, teach,
nurse, discipline, taxi, and mentor. As important as these
things are, they can affect the perceived value others place on
me and the value I place on myself.”
“By working with Scentsy,” she continues, “I feel like I am empowering other women and, most importantly, my children by
showing them that you do not have to confine yourself to one dream.”
Cindi takes pride in her Scentsy team. “Working with Scentsy is an opportunity for me to give of myself, my time, my knowledge,
my patience, and my training. In return, I get to watch my team grow both personally and professionally. When they reach their
milestones, I have the same pride for them that I thought I could only feel for my children.”
She concludes, “I am proud that I have grown so much as a person and reached a level of success that is considered
inspirational to others. I am touched, moved, and often surprised that people would seek me out for guidance and support.”
CHRISTINA OSBORN—OUTSTANDING SPONSOR
Director Christina Osborn first learned about Scentsy from a friend who hosted a party at her house. The party had taken
place the weekend before, but Christina’s friend hadn’t closed her party yet and still had the testers and catalogs available.
Christina immediately fell in love with at least ten scents and was hooked!
Not long after becoming a Scentsy Consultant in November 2010, Christina
discovered how popular Scentsy products were with her friends and family. She
explains, “Once my family, friends, co-workers, and online contacts found out
I sold Scentsy, they wanted bars, warmers, and so much more! They started
asking to host parties. When my commissions came in, I was blown away.”
Christina was amazed at how quickly she experienced success with Scentsy products.
“What surprised me the most was how fast and easy it happened,” she says. “If
you talk about Scentsy to everyone, share your personal story, are passionate
about your business, and stay positive, people will come to you!”
When she went to Spring Sprint in February, Christina set a personal goal to
promote from a Lead Consultant to a Director by December, but she surpassed
her own goal and promoted to Director this past March! Her new goal is to
become a SuperStar Director by June 2012.
Christina loves team building. “My favorite thing is seeing my team advance at
double or triple the pace that I did,” she says. “It’s an amazing feeling to know
that I have made a difference in someone else’s life.”

Christina is not shy about sharing how Scentsy has changed her life. She says, “Scentsy has offered many blessings to
me and my family. I have formed amazing friendships with my customers, Hosts, and team. I have developed a strong
commitment to Scentsy and always strive to do my best to deliver the best customer service and show my team how they
can do the same!”
KACI JOSKER—OUTSTANDING START
Kaci Josker first heard about Scentsy from her husband’s co-worker, whose wife
was a Star Director. She listened while he described how great his wife’s Scentsy
business was and how much they had enjoyed some amazing trips thanks to
Scentsy. Kaci was interested but didn’t feel it was something she could take on
at the time. She says, “I was a bit skeptical, to say the least.” But that all changed
on Christmas Day 2010.
“My daughter gave us the Marine Corps Warmer as a Christmas gift,” Kaci
explains. “I reluctantly set it up in my kitchen, ‘knowing’ this was going to be a
flop!” She put the warmer in her kitchen, turned it on, and put in three cubes of
White Tea & Cactus, and left for the rest of the day. “When we returned home, I
could not believe the deliciously amazing smell that permeated my entire home.”
This one experience is all it took for Kaci, a busy, full-time emergency room
nurse, to begin talking about Scentsy with her co-workers. Kaci says, “Before I
knew it, I had people asking me how they could get Scentsy products. It took on
a life of its own. I was taking orders and giving them to my Scentsy Consultant
for fulfillment. I wasn’t interested in selling anything to anyone yet. I was more
like a teenage girl in love with a new rock star! Scentsy was all I could talk about!”
On Mother’s Day 2011, Kaci’s husband decided to sign her up as a Consultant. She was shocked. She thought, “What is
he doing? I can’t do this! I can’t sell anything, and I don’t want to be one of those pushy sales people.” Now Kaci says, “I
don’t have to push anything. Scentsy sells itself. I was already doing the job; I just wasn’t getting paid for it until I became a
Consultant. I am absolutely thrilled that my husband gave me such an amazing gift.”
Kaci was skeptical about starting a Scentsy business at first, but now she believes “Inspiration comes not from what we
can gain, but by what we can help others gain. Happiness is seeing the smile and excitement on the faces of those we
have the opportunity to touch. That is inspiration for me.”
