PRÓ-VIDA No. 3 YEAR 2015 INSIDE THE LABYRINTH our stories Image: PRÓ-VIDA Archive thinking The point - this merely conceptual element without dimension or shape - is an abstraction. It is unity, the base of all geometry. Points have no volume, area, length or any similar dimension. Thus a point is a zero-dimensional object. But from a point other concepts can be defined. Euclid says that a point is that which "has no parts." So would the point contain the Whole? The point expands into a circle or a square. Or otherwise, a circle can be reduced to a point. And so does the square. Labyrinths have in their basic shape a circle which is combined with a spiral. Mandalas on the other hand, have a circle that may end up in a square. At the center of both - circle and square – there is the point that expands itself. What part of the Whole do you see in the expanded? Minotauro e do labirinto de Knossos. how is your mind A person enters a city, one which has many streets and alleys, and he keeps on walking along the streets and alleys of this city. He notices that everything is very difficult. He notices that the streets are very narrow, and that the people bump up against one another. He has no idea how the traffic runs. He doesn't know who's going that way, who's coming this way, who's moving in all directions. And so he tries to organize the city. But, as he is unable to see everything, he stops and then says, "All right, on this street let's all walk this way and on the other let's all go that way, and here only this way..." And after a while, he sees it didn't work, because it would cause trouble over on the other side. And he starts to despair and wants to find a way out. But he tried something! You too—you have always been trying to do something in life. Everyone tries to do something in their lives. Everyone tries! But, after some time, feeling that you won't be able to organize things so that you can have a better life, you search for a way out. And then you go about desperately looking for an exit, and so you run down one street and find no way out, you run down another and find no way out, and you don't find a way out... One day you end up finding a way out and you leave the city, get on the road once again and go. But if the keeper of facts weren't defective, if the keeper of facts were perfect, you would have learned the lesson well. And upon encountering another city while walking along the road, you would not enter it so recklessly. You would stop at the city gates, look for a hill, a mount, because your keeper of facts would have registered the previous experience and would have taught you that you need to base yourself on previous experiences, and you must always be alert so as to better use your mind, for if you don't, you will always be banging your head against walls. >> To be continued on the next page how is your mind So you would then climb up a hill before entering the city. You would gaze down from the hilltop at all the streets and alleys of the city. You would observe how everything works. You would look, analyze and then, before going down into the city, you would look for the exit, figure out how to get out. Then, with complete knowledge, you would enter the city, and even choose the location that pleased you most. You would live there long enough to nourish yourself before getting back on the road. So you would go down, feed, try to help organize - since you know more, for having seen from above. And after you've undergone all the required nourishing, you would easily go back and find the way out. You would walk through the exit, find the road and follow the road: the Road of Evolution, until you find a new city. that exists in the keeper of the previously registered facts. But the keeper of facts is broken in most people. So they do not know that they must climb the hill before continuing on. And they have every opportunity. DR.
