Saint Elizabeth Community Where RI seniors come first Dear Friends: Dear Friends: Our commitment to our Vision, Mission and Values is reflected in the work we do. Our revised Vision, Mission and Values statements serve as a guidepost for our growing and changing organization. This quote succinctly sums up the reason for stating our core beliefs. Notes to Inspire by Simon Senek: “When we know Why we do what we do, everything falls into place. When we don’t know Why we do what we do, we have to push things into place.” Once the work of revising the Vision, Mission and Values was complete, it was introduced to employees through in-services held monthly from January - June. Our goal is to have each employee know the “why” of what we do. Why do we innovate and bring change to long term care? It is because we are a mission driven organization. Saint Elizabeth Community’s sense of serving others, meeting needs and providing exceptional care dates back to 1882 and has evolved with the decades. We continue to improve upon the care, services, and programs to meet the needs of aging Rhode Islanders in this fast paced and changing world we live. That is why we partnered with THE GREEN HOUSE® Project to bring Green House homes to RI. It is because this model has been proven to improve the care of those who reside in this type of long term care setting - in a real home. It is our responsibility to be the best possible senior care organization that we can be and to remain committed to our Mission. We are humbled by the incredible support that allows us to deliver exceptional services, and ever grateful to the donors, foundations, partners, volunteers and employees that support Saint Elizabeth Community and all its members. Pease, Jr. President and CEO Board Chair providing long term care in the state. 2014 Year in Review Growth Saint Elizabeth Community developed a strategic plan whose three main goals are: n Intentional Growth into the Community n Community Resource for Aging Services n Integrated Supportive Services Programs n Saint Elizabeth Haven - provided safe haven to 5 elderly victims of abuse in 2014, and has provided over 500 days of safe haven since program established in 2009 n Volunteer Guardianship Program - approximately 146 clients in need of a guardian served in 2014 Leadership n Steven J. Horowitz served on LeadingAge National Board and Board of Trustees of the Greater Providence Chamber n Matt Trimble named Chief Operating Officer of Saint Elizabeth Community and served on board of LeadingAge RI n Beth Russell served on board of LeadingAge RI n Mark Loiselle named Chief Financial Officer of Saint Elizabeth Community and served as Chair of CareLink n Tom Radican hired as Facilities Engineer of Saint Elizabeth Community n Jeffrey French hired as Administrator of Saint Elizabeth Home Innovation n THE GREEN HOUSE® Project at Saint Elizabeth Home - 48 beds awarded by the RI Department of Health n Nordic Technology has pilot projects at Saint Elizabeth Court and Saint Elizabeth Home n Early Memory Loss program introduced at Cornerstone and PT and OT now available on site n The Brown University Healthy Aging Communities public health intervention study was conducted at Saint Elizabeth Court n Saint Elizabeth Home is piloting a robot computer project with students and faculty from Brown University n URI study at Saint Elizabeth Place evaluating needs for a health center Engineering/Facilities Improvements n Saint Elizabeth Place replacement of exterior EIFS on half the building as part of a two year plan n RISE evaluations at many SEC locations n Saint Elizabeth Manor began the renovation and addition of The Rehab Center, a $4.5 million project that will be completed in Fall 2015 n Saint Elizabeth Home - 12 semi private and 4 private short term rehab rooms were updated with new flooring, furnishings, draperies and paint Vision photo left: Saint Elizabeth Home resident Ed Tick enjoys time in the garden with CNAs, Kiara Boucher and Danielle Jussaume.
