INSTRUCTIONS FOR TAKING THE CITI
ONLINE RESEARCH CONFLICTS OF INTEREST OF TRAINING COURSE
This module is for non-UT Health Science Center-Houston individuals who do not have access to the UTHealth RCOI training
module in the university’s mandatory compliance training system and have not taken approved RCOI training through another
source.
1.) Go to https://www.citiprogram.org/.
2.) At the Registration page below, click New Users Register Here.
3.) Select University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston as the Participating Institution.
4.) Leave Veterans Affairs, Department of Energy, HIV/AIDS Network Coordination, Canadian
Institutions, India & Korea Participating Institutions blank.
5.) Create your own Username and Password following the naming convention rules in Section 2.
6.) Choose a Security Question & Answer in Section 3.
7.) Enter your name and e-mail address in Sections 4-5.
8.) Provide your gender, ethnicity, and race OR select “I would rather not disclose.”
9.) You may select No for CME/CEU credits in Section 7. CME/CEU credits are not required.
10.) Course Survey-Select either Yes or No in Section 8.
11.) Click Submit.

Enter Member Information.
Choose your language preference.
Complete the “*” fields (minimum info)
Enter any 6 digits for Employee Number (ex: 123456)
Click Submit at the bottom of the screen.

Respond to questions 1-5 as shown below.
1.) Select the group that best applies to your research.
2.) Select “No” for the Good Clinical Practice Course
3. ) Select “Yes” for the Conflicts of Interest in Research Training Course.
4.) Select Not at this Time.
5.) Leave question 5 blank.
Press “Submit” at the bottom of the screen.

The next screen should show “The University of Texas Health Science Center at
Houston” as the institution.
Select “No” to “continue with your current selection.”

At the Main Menu screen below, select “Enter” to start the “Conflicts of Interests in
Research Training RCR” course.
Complete the course. This is the only CITI course you are required to complete.

After completing the course, please print and scan a copy of your completing
certificate. From the Main Menu, click on Print under Completion Reports.
