About Red Mountain Resort Rossland
About Red Mountain Resort Red Mountain Resort has been named one of the Top Ten Resorts of North America by Forbes Magazine, and is quickly becoming one of North America’s most sought-after mountain destinations. Red is only a ten minutes drive north of the Canada/US Border, a 2.5 hour drive from Spokane International Airport (Washington state) and 3.5 hour drive from Kelowna International Airport. Red is easily accessible from major airports from both Canada and the United States. The regional airports of Trail – a 20 minute drive, and Castlegar – a 30 minute drive also serve the mountain. At Red, visitors can choose from 87 runs spread across two stellar mountains that feature everything from wide-open groomers to steep, powder-filled glades. With more than 1,685 skiable acres and 880 meters (2,919 feet) of vertical terrain serviced by 6 total lifts, there is a lot to explore at Red. The abundant snow, friendly staff and locals, and the short lift lines are just a few reasons why guests fall in love with Red. Ski Canada has once again placed Red Mountain Resort’s trees, steeps and powder amongst the best in Canada. Along with this, Red’s Silverlode and Paradise areas offer plenty of wide-open groomed runs for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Rossland Recently voted as Canada's #1 outdoor town by Explore Magazine, Rossland is widely renowned for its rugged outdoor adventure, and small-town warmth and hospitality. Rossland is a “must-visit” among North American travelers seeking to enjoy the best that B.C.’s natural surroundings have to offer. 1 What’s New Quad Chair The 2007/2008 season will see a new state-of-the-art Doppelmayr quad chairlift. Beginner/Intermediate Terrain Four new beginner and intermediate runs over 100 acres of terrain were added over the summer of 2006. Slalom Creek Slalom Creek is a brand new 67-unit residential ski-in ski-out condominium project that spans two beautifully designed steel and concrete buildings, one with 24 suites and the other with 43 suites. Slalom Creek represents the first phase in a 1,400unit master-planned community nestled in the pristine mountain setting near Rossland. What’s to Come Red Mountain Resort is undergoing a 15-year resort development that will provide up to 1,400 ski-in/ski-out resort residences as well as a host of restaurants, retail shops and other commercial services plus on-mountain family-oriented activities at the base of the mountain. The summer of 2007 will see an extensive tree glading program. Planning is currently underway for an expanded terrain park and tube park. Starting summer 2008 the new Silverlode Chair will take mountain bikers to new downhill trails and a bike park filled with hits and trick features for all ability levels.
