MESSAGE
The National Institute of Fashion Technology is truly the undisputed premier
institute of fashion design, management and technology. An established leader
in the Indian context and globally as well.
I extend my sincere most congratulations! to all the graduating students of the
2005-2009 batch for successfully completing their academic tenure. I further
congratulate the supremely able fashion design department for producing yet
another batch of creative professionals.
Our graduating students are commencing their professional pursuits at a truly
opportune time…..when the fashion industry is peaking at a domestic level,
and several Indian designers are gaining recognition on the global fashion
platform. Therefore I wish each one of you every success in all your future
endeavors.
I do hope you uphold the moral and social responsibility of preserving and
professing the use of our rich textile heritage and consequently support our
skilled craftsmen. Let us also pledge to nurture values of building loyalty with
brands/organizations we associate with. Building a loyalty with the
organization one works with speaks volumes for the integrity of yourself as an
individual, and your passion and commitment to your profession.
I end here wishing you only the very best for your future

FIBERS AND FERNS
Andy Goldsworthy‘s beautiful artwork
–“RIVERS and TIDES”. His art involves
the use of natural and found objects
like brightly-coloured flowers, leaves,
mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs,
and thorns, to create sculptures which
draw out the character of their
environment - Symbiosis of simplicity,
patience and elegance. Fostering
ecological and ethical principles I have
materialized an organic spring-summer
collection which is a rendezvous of
varied components from natural
resources. Organic bamboo, cotton;
natural dyes like indigo, lac, turmeric,
wastes like pomegranate peel ,
marigold etc, jute yarns have been
morphed into an ‘Earthwear’
collection.

to produce a new form called fabric
,shadow & soul of a human exist
together , here is the existence of
casual & club wear together for elite
people in the fashion and
entertainment business .
Inspired from the backdrop of the
charity stage performance by U2

African people suffering from Debt &
Aids ,where everyday 6000 people
die . This is twice the number of
people who died in W.T.C 9/11 attack

THE FOURTH DIMENSION
Architecture, The closest cousin to fashion in the
creative world.
The relationship between fashion and architecture is
not a particularly oblique one. Both are based on
structure, shape and beautifying basic necessities.
Architects and interior designers are borrowing the
techniques of pleating and draping from traditional
tailoring to design buildings that are interactive,
inflatable, and even portable.
Today architectonic apparel from fashion mavericks
such as Hussein Chalayan, Yoshiki Hishinuma, Kei
Kegami can be witnessed at well recognized fashion
shows.

LISTEN TO THE DEAD SPEAK
A collection in white n grey with a hint of
silver, extends fashion to the world of
fingerprints, crime scenes, traces and
impressions. Forensica is a futuristic
approach to incorporate “the unusual” to
the routine by introducing
unconventional materials like packaging
fabrics, novel surface ornamentation
techniques and mix n match of varying
textures that completes the look going
simultaneously with diverse silhouettes.
The color palette stands boldly against
the environment the scientist work in
and still helps in merging well with their
basic norms of work
wear.Accesorization is done with
syreinge, lens like brooches, blood
stained scarfs teamed up with gloves.

UNREAL REALITY
Inspiration for my collection is a
graphitized version of a wall which was
originally devasted and monotonous.
Basically the idea is to bring life into this
wall by adding colours. The foreground
is exchanged by background thus
bringing the grey shades of wall outside
and the graffiti inside. The fabric in grey
and black shades relate to the
monotonous wall. Considering the
functional and decorative aspect the
collection consist of contrast yokes,
lapel, checkered lining, cowl pants,
piping, etc. The collection is designed for
situational cinema.{actors,artists}

keeping the comfort zone of roadies in mind.

PAINT A PICTURE
Food for thought.....
Lets trace back to the time when we were together
as humans and not divided into nations or
segregated into sects......WONDERING???
As far as we recollect,
even the earliest evidence of
civilization proved our division.
We have our foundation in a world which claims
its existence through wars.
Imagine if this had not been....
let us..Paint a picture..
As to how the world will be if we were all together
ignoring our differences and overcoming our
demarcations...
let us just be born as
humans.

'WHY SO SERIOUS?
The masks we wear will not only
hide our identities
they only deceive those trying to
look into our souls
and find who we truely are but
what scares us most
when such people come around
is that we will be stripped down
and all our insecurities exposed.
it seems like someone is always
out to get your heart. love. blood.
death. life.
The use of stripes and checks
mix and match of the two,
asymmetry as
the key element.

WALKING DOWN THE PATIO
The collection's theme being “walking
down the patio”, spring/summer2009-10
is inspired by the floral exquisiteness of
nature. To enhance the feminism and
curves of a woman's body, the
anthology has been endowed with short
well fitted summer dresses. Keeping the
aspect of surface ornamentation intact,
blossoming roses made with ribbons
have been set in the dresses. “Net”
being a long time favorite of women
from all eras is extensively used in the
outfits with cotton linings keeping in
mind the heated summers. The
collection is for the young girls of today
who want to feel free… be bold as well
as beautiful showcasing the wealth of
feminism.

SCOPE FOR HOPE...
Inspired by Barack Obama’s
Presidential speech.
Since hope is very abstract, the
interpretation goes like elements
changing their positions.
so there are practically to
designs in one single garment.
Scope for hope explains scope
of wearing the same garment in
two different ways and that is
the element of hope. The
silhouettes are flowy and easy
going. The use of knits with
woven fabrics gives it a semiformal look.

PLAY IT LOUDER
This collection is based on a painting
which says a man always lives two
lives at a time, one in his own
perspective which is full of emotions
which are represented by different
colors and second in others
perspective which is based on rule
and regulations, ethics, right and
wrong, good and evil.
Like man, my designs are ccomplex
and individualistic interms of
silhouettes and diversity is potrayed
throughcolour
most vibrant with black and white.
