If you know of a farm that is not listed and should be included in future editions, please contact the Killingly Planning and Development Department at 860-779-5311. Produced by: The Killingly AGvocate Working Group in conjunction with the AGvocate Program Spring 2012 aerial photo from www.glsweetnam.com Killingly, Connecticut is one of 35 Towns located in the Last Green Valley (QuinebaugShetucket River Valleys National Heritage Corridor) and one of the first to participate in the Corridor’s founding. Although better known historically as “Curtain Town USA” and for its mill heritage, Killingly is also home to many successful and growing agricultural businesses. Perhaps best known are the Northeast CT Farmers Market, Palazzi Orchard and Logee’s Greenhouses, celebrating its 120th anniversary in 2012. Killingly will continue its commitment to supporting and encouraging agriculture in all forms in appreciation of the jobs created, the locally grown fresh food and products, and maintenance of the rural landscape. Come and enjoy what Killingly’s farmers have to offer! The AGvocate Program is a program of Eastern CT Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc. It began in 2009 to provide a forum for municipal officials, agricultural producers, and other stakeholders to strengthen the farm-friendliness of eastern Connecticut towns. More information about the AGvocate Program is available at AgInfoTLGV.org/AGvocate, or by contacting [email protected]. Funding for this brochure was made possible from the AGvocate Program, The Connecticut Environmental Review Team, and the Last Green Valley, Inc.
