SILENT AUCTION RULES
Silent Auction:
Opens at 7:00 p.m.
Main Auction closes at 9:30 p.m.
Specialty Auction closes at 10 p.m.
Bid Sheets: Each auction item has a bid sheet with an opening bid amount in the first bid slot.
This year you will not be assigned a Bid Number. Please print your name and phone number
as legibly as possible in the blanks provided.
Minimum Raises: All auction items will have a minimum raise amount. A bid of less than
a minimum raise shall be invalid, even if it is a final bid. Auction officials reserve the right to
determine the winning bid. The Auction Chair will determine the winner of any bids in question.
“Buy Me Now” Bids: Some auction items have the Buy Me Now option. A Buy Me Now offer
is the automatic winning bid and closes the bidding on that item.
End of Bidding: At the close of bidding for each section an Auction Committee Member will
mark through the bid sheet and circle the winning bid. When bidding ends DO NOT remove
any portion of the bid sheet from the auction tables; doing so will void your bid.
Auction Bank: If you believe you are the highest bidder for an auction item, please proceed
to check-out at the ticket counter. Check-out will begin approximately 30 minutes (10:30
p.m.) after the close of the specialty auction. Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover,
checks, and cash will be accepted. If you have not done so already, and are paying with a
credit card, please pick up and complete a credit card form before getting into the checkout lines. Checks should be made out to “Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center.” All items
purchased at the Mad Scientist Ball are expected to be paid for and removed by the end of
the evening. High bidders who do not claim merchandise will be contacted by phone. All
items must be paid for and retrieved by Friday, March 26, 2010 at 5 p.m. In the event that
this deadline is not met, your bid will be voided and the next person on the bid sheet will be
contacted.
Taking Receipt of Your Items: After paying for your auction item(s), you will receive a
purchase receipt. If your purchase is a gift certificate, you will receive it at the ticket counter
when you make your payment. For all other items please return upstairs with your receipt(s),
where an auction official will retrieve your purchase(s). No item may be removed without a
validated purchase receipt. All Sales Are Final. There will be no exchanges or refunds except
when specified.
Miscellaneous Advisory on Purchases: Services, trips, and parties purchased at the auction
must be used by the deadline as prescribed by the donor. If no void-after date is specifically
indicated, it must be used by March 20, 2011. Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center will not
be held responsible for items not claimed. Tips, taxes, alcoholic beverages, and some special
fees are not included with any meals, trips, parties, or services, except as specified in the
descriptions. READ THE DESCRIPTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING.
Additional Disclaimers: No warranties are made by Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center
concerning any items or services sold by the auction.
Neither Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center nor any donors of auction items accept any liability for
any personal injury incurred in conjunction with the purchase, or use, of any auction item.

a New Orleans Saints home game. The seats are on the FIRST
ROW…50 YARD LINE! This experience includes private jet
transportation round trip between Shreveport and New Orleans, and
limousine transportation to and from the stadium. Doesn’t get any
better than this. Can we get a “WHO DAT?”
What an explosive idea! The vendors in this new north Bossier center
have agreed to combine their resources to offer this fun-filled package.
The package includes: Gallery Fine Arts space rental for a private

Chef John Folse Dinner
Ever wanted to wander down Wisteria Lane? Now’s your chance!
ABC Studios has offered a tour of the Desperate Housewives set in Los
Angeles, California for four with logo items, and an autographed script
to take home as a souvenir. Our friends at ABC will tell you when the
cast is filming, so you can increase your chances of being on-set with
the stars! Air and hotel are up to you.
We’ve scored two seats in a private, luxury suite to the first Dallas
Cowboys preseason home game. The new Cowboys Stadium
(constructed at a cost of $1.3 billion) is undoubtedly one of the finest
venues to watch a game. So, no matter what amount you pay for
these seats, they will be a steal! Keep your calendar open. The 2010
NFL schedule hasn’t been announced yet, but this game will likely be in
early to mid-August.
Win a few hours on the set to watch the filming of award-winning
director Jeffrey Goodman’s second feature-length film, Peril.
Tentatively scheduled to begin production late Fall 2010, Peril is an
exciting new installment in the “young boy in peril” genre. It’s about
Milo, an eleven year old boy, who will be our guide as he searches for
safety and a place to call home.
Close your eyes and imagine the paddlewheelers on the Mississippi
River. Now open your eyes to find yourself hosting a dinner for six;
prepared and served at world-renowned Chef John Folse’s private
White Oak Plantation near Baton Rouge. White Oak is available for
