TAILOR-MADE
DAYS
JUST FOR YOU
ARE YOU HERE
FOR HALF A DAY?
Why not take a tour of the
old town along the Historic
Mulhouse path (page 12 of
this guide)? If it rains, Plan B
is the Automobile museum
and its collection of 437 cars
of 97 different makes! And
there’s nothing like a quick
lunch in a brasserie or tea
room for some low-priced
sustenance.
ARE YOU HERE FOR A FULL DAY?
In the morning, why not explore Mulhouse and its hidden
secrets with a Greeter? Or head off on an adventure by following
the red markers (Fil Rouge)? Unless you would prefer to
discover the secrets of the textile industry at the Museum of
Printed Textiles?
Enjoy lunch in a restaurant offering creative local cuisine!
In the afternoon, if you’ve not slipped away for a siesta, you
could explore the history of Mulhouse through the exhibitions
at the History Museum or wander amidst the fauna and flora of
the Zoological and botanical garden!
And if your feet are in need of a rest, we warmly recommend a
sunny terrace or a little tea room. The city abounds with
options - you will surely find something to suit you!
End the day with a taste sensation and visit a modern or
gourmet restaurant! There are lots of very good restaurants in
Mulhouse and the region to satisfy even the most demanding
of food lovers!
ARE YOU HERE FOR TWO DAYS?
1ST DAY Choo! Choo! Welcome to the station of Mulhouse!
Mulhouse for 2 days! Why not stop at this extraordinary station?
Visit the Railway Museum where both young and old can find out
more about the iconic history of the railway.
For lunch, we suggest a little snack, at the Marché du Canal
Couvert for example. Then do as the locals do… take advantage of
the last rays of sun on a terrace or stroll in a park, before arriving
at the table reserved for you in a traditional restaurant.
2ND DAY Do you dream of discovering all of Alsace in a
single day, but you dare not ask? Your wish is granted! Visit the
Ecomusée d’Alsace in Ungersheim to discover the essence of
the region in one place. Immerse yourself in the traditions of
yesteryear and get lost in the lanes of a typical village.
Picnic amongst the storks or in a village square and let time
stand still! At the end of the day, visit the shops to find original
gifts for your friends and relatives, 100% Made in Mulhouse.
ARE YOU HERE FOR TWO DAYS
WITH YOUR KIDS?
1ST DAY Wow! A polar bear! Oh! An Amur leopard! How cute is
that lemur… Yes, you are at the Zoological and botanical garden
and your little darlings are delighted with the 1,200 or so animals
to be found there.
At lunch, you could enjoy a picnic in the botanical garden and
take advantage of the variety of landscaped areas and playgrounds or head into town and find a family-friendly restaurant
(Famille+) for a fantastic welcome!
2ND DAY Come on! Take a trip back into your childhood! This
day is a time to share with your children all the emotions in the
famous story by Antoine de St Exupéry: The Little Prince. The
park dedicated to him encompasses two worlds: the earth and
the sky. On earth, get lost in a giant labyrinth or pay a visit to the
foxes… And in the sky, 150 metres above the ground, discover a
breath-taking landscape: Alsace!

The journey through art
history at the Fine Arts
Museum begins in the
15th century with the magnificent Rheinfelden altarpiece.
Then come the classical
centuries, represented by
Brueghel, Boucher and
Teniers. The 19th century
is the strong point of the
collections, with Boudin,
Jongking, Géricault, Courbet
and Bouguereau. Alsatian
artists are also well
represented, in particular
Jean-Jacques Henner,
who has a room dedicated
to his work. The rooms on
the second floor contain
contemporary creations:
internationally renowned
artists are invited there
for temporary exhibitions,
alternating with visual artists

The use of the label «Alsace terre textile» is one of the actions brought by
the “Pôle Textile Alsace” to promote the sector. It is designed to promote
trades and skills to a wider audience. The ultimate goal is to encourage
local companies to work together to their mutual advantage, or even to
relocate certain stages of manufacture while still providing guarantees
of traceability to consumers. Finally, this label highlights Alsatian textiles,
a sector renowned for its antiquity, professionalism and rebirth through
innovation.

ALSACE WINE ROUTE
Alsace and its famous Wine Route crisscrossing the region
from north to south, for more than 170 kilometers (106
miles), offer a vast diversity of landscapes and areas including neat rows of vines stretching up to the Vosges forests
near the high ground, the ruins of proud mediaeval castles,
fortified villages with their narrow, flower-decked streets,
wine cellars waiting to be visited, Romanesque churches...
DOMAINE
DIRLER-CADE
CAVE DU VIEIL
ARMAND
The wine cellar Dirler-Cadé
is very attached to the
production of wines with
strong character and which
reflects their origin. Thus,
the respect for nature and
soils is a high priority. Biodynamic growing since 1998.
Fine Alsace wines, Spiegel,
Saering, Kessler and Kitterlé
Grand Crus, “Vendanges
Tardives”.
The Vieil Armand wine cellar is a typical Alsatian cellar
gathering 110 winemakers
who cultivate 130 hectares
of vineyard. Winemaker

Tram and bus
Trams go faster than cars in Mulhouse!
These words, taken from a Joe Dassin song, show the importance of public transport
in the Mulhouse area: 22 bus routes, 3 tram lines and a tram-train route stopping in the
region’s 33 towns and villages. All tram stations have automatic ticket machines which
accept cards and coins. You can also buy tickets in the 2 Soléa agencies in Porte Jeune
and the Gare Centrale station and also in some shops.
