reduced priced meals (lunch).
Applications may be turned in any time during the year and are available

School Closings: Please listen to the following
radio and TV stations for Vicksburg Community School
closings: WWMT-TV, WUHQ-TV, WOOD-TV, WKZO, WKMI,
WQLR, WMUK, WLKM, WNWN, AND WOOD-FM. Please
do not call the radio or television stations or the school
for closing information as all lines must be kept open for
further communications. In the event of an early closing, your child will be sent to the location previously arranged with the Indian Lake office.
COLD WEATHER INFORMATION:
It’s that time of year when students
should come to school prepared to go outside at recess. Students much wear winter coats, gloves, snow pants, & boots in
order to go out in the cold temperatures.
Rules for outside recess:
•
When the temperature is 60° or higher, students do
not need to wear long sleeves or a coat.
•
When the temperature or wind chill is 51° to 59°,
students must wear long sleeves (shirts, sweatshirts,
coat).
•
When the temperature or wind chill is 50° or below,
students must wear a coat.
•
We also require indoor recess if it is raining outside,
or if the temperature or wind chill is 0° or below.
Please take a few minutes and review with your child
your early closing arrangements. This will help eliminate
some anxious moments for everyone.

MUSIC NEWS FROM MRS. HEINTZELMAN:
Starting the first Monday in January, Mrs. Heintzelman will be starting a
choir for 4th & 5th Grade students. We will be meeting before school on
Tuesday mornings at 8:15 . Look for a letter from Mrs. Heintzelman sometime in December for the official sign up and more details.
4th & 5th Grade families…. Mark your calendars….our 4th & 5th Grade music
program is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9 at 7pm at the HS PAC. Our
program is called Update Earth: Kids Rock the World for the Environment.

Indian Lake Elementary is now offering gift cards for sale as a fundraiser for PTSO.
You will have THREE ways to purchase gift cards to use while helping raise money for our school.

Purchase cards directly from the office where we will keep a small stock of 8-10 companies. Right now we
have: Celebration Cinema, Speedway, Culvers, Barnes and Noble, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, GAP,
JC Penney, Subway, ToysRus, Felpausch, Panera and Texas Roadhouse.

Place your order: Purchase cards on www.ShopWithScrip.com and use the school’s code
(7333L9F948715) and they will ship them to your house for a small shipping charge. You can also call
1.800.727.4715 to place your order over the phone.

Purchase them with an order form to be turned into the office. We will order once a week on Fridays, so
your cards will be here very quickly the next week.
