Thank you for choosing La Plagne for your holiday in the mountains! Once again
this year, our teams have prepared a programme of festivities and entertainment to
liven up your family holidays.
- Cimes en Scène is a dazzling show with eagles or a bear at the top of the Grande
Rochette every Wednesday! It’s entirely free for children under 10.
- The 6000 D with new races that will delight trail running enthusiasts of all ages and
levels. 6D Week from 2 - 9 August is “Trail Week” with a different race every day in
one of La Plagne’s village resorts.
- The 1st edition of Festi Plagne from 17 - 20 August has lots of surprises for you based
on 4 themes and in a different altitude village every day. You won’t want to miss it!
- The PassPlagne Bus offers a great deal with your PassPlagne card to take you down
to the valley or bring you back up after a mountain bike descent. Why not try an
electric bike? You will find them for hire at a great rate from the resort’s sports shops
and there are circuits specially adapted to this up-and-coming activity…
You will find all the details in this guide that we have put together for you. Please
don’t hesitate to come in and see us in the resort’s information points where we will
be delighted to advise you.

The 4th edition of this race with 600m elevation gain for all ages
and levels (beginner to expert, juniors & teens).
It is a less demanding race on the walking paths that link La
Plagne’s altitude villages.
Friday 24th July.
6D Bob

Based on the concept of an “infernal climb”, the competitors run
up La Plagne’s legendary Olympic bobsleigh track on an average
gradient of 8.2% with a peak of 14%!
The current record for running up is 6’12”. 125m elevation gain.
Min. age 7. Thursday 23rd July.

ages and levels! If you are a fan of trail running, La Plagne
6000D
63km
A legendary race and the first of its kind when it started,
the 6000D is still a challenge for most trail runners. It’s
quite an achievement to run from the apple orchards
in the valley right up to the glacier! A 4000m climb over
a 63km course. The trail takes runners from the village
of Aime in the valley to the top of Bellecôte glacier at
3047m altitude, passing through La Plagne’s altitude
villages to come back down through the forest in Montchavin and finishing along the Isère river. A first-class
marked trail, 95% on footpaths. For this 26th edition, a
large, enthusiastic crowd will encourage you all along
the trail on Saturday, 25th July, 2015.

The 6D Mômes (6D for Kids) is an event for children aged 6 to 15.
They run round an 800m circuit in Plagne Centre one or several
times according to age categories. Friday 24th July.
The 6000D is getting a facelift in 2015, with races for all
is the place for you. See you there July 23 - 25!

6D Lacs

27km New 20
The 9th edition and an all-new format for this race that
is going from 22km to 27km! Starting and finishing in
Plagne Bellecôte, this course has 1600 m of elevation
gain and is less demanding than the 6000D. The new
course will head off at the Dérochoir to go towards Plan
Bois and then climb up the Arpette before going back
down to Plagne Bellecôte. Saturday 25th July.
6D Verticale
New 2015
The 6D Verticale is a hill climb for all levels of runner. It
leaves from the village of La Roche and goes straight up
to the top of the Grande Rochette. The 5km course has
1000 m elevation gain. Friday 24th July.
6D Kids
USING GARMIN TRACKING DEVICES
The 6D race for kids aged 6 to 16, to run as a family or with an
accompanying adult. Equipped with a tracking system loaned for
the event by our partner Garmin, go and explore the town of Aime
solving hidden clues along the way. This treasure hunt-style initiation race, open to all, offers a fun opportunity to find out about the
heritage of the town of Aime.

Fun family race
A fun run through the village streets, with surprises along the way. Teams
of 2 people minimum (1 adult - 1 child). Not timed, prizes for the first 3

La 6D WEEK, the trail week

With a view to positioning itself as a “Trail Runners’ Resort”, La Plagne is launching a new “trail” theme
week with an “à la carte” programme. Runners can train every day on different courses in the different
areas of La Plagne: hard climbs, Alpine trails, running up the bobsleigh track and short trail test events,
as well as fun “relay” style family entertainment and treasure hunts using a tracking system.

Bobsleigh track and then to La Roche. You can take the La Roche chairlift (on
Tuesday and Friday) back up to Plagne Aime 2000.

bozelets’S ALPINE PASTURES ON AN ELECTRIC BIKE
A superb circuit on the south side of the Grande Rochette that takes you to
the top of La Rossa gondola from La Plagne (and down to Champagny when
it is open) or up to La Plagne from Champagny. It will be a real change of
scenery, going past Bozelet chapel and its breathtaking panorama in either
direction.

With its open landscape, breathtaking panoramas and quiet
trails and footpaths in the forest, the Grande Plagne area has
any number of plus points for bikers, whether they prefer road
bikes, cross country, enduro or even an electric bike!
A different way of visiting La Plagne.

sport at your own speed and at your own level.
Using the summer lift network our immense playground
is at your fingertips(*). From the altitude resorts to the
village resorts la Plagne’s trails have descents and scenery to take your breath away !

Seven easy routes, most of them marked, taking Alpine trails and
paths through the forest to guide bikers around the resort. In total,
just over 100 km of trails over the whole of the La Plagne area will be
accessible to this type of e-bike. There will be specific marking with
the logo VTT-E and the trail name.
There will be no indication of difficulty level (i.e. no blue, red and
black trails...). All the trails have the same technical level (about the
same elevation difference and the same type of terrain, etc.), the
only difference being the distance and therefore the time they take
to complete. There will therefore be “full day” and “half day” trails
so that you can make the most of your bicycle rental time and getting
to grips with the electric system.
An outing around the high altitude pastures and forests
in la Plagne. For beginners or experts. Mostly downhill
with lifts for the ascents.

WHAT HAPPENED BELOW GROUND BEFORE LA PLAGNE?
Tuesday from 07 July to 18 August (except 14 July)
Let yourself be carried away by the story of the valley from when the mines
were in operation to the construction of the Bobsleigh track.
Meet in Plagne 1800 for a guided walk, a visit of the mini mine museum then
a walk down to the Bobsleigh track to find out about being an ice specialist.
Free guided visit for all ages.
About 1 hr walk, return by chairlift (paying) or by Pass Plagne Bus (5 Pass
Plagne points) at the end of the afternoon.
Details of time and meeting place in the weekly events programme.
In case of rain, visit replaced by a commentated video.

Walk the 19 bends of La Plagne’s Olympic Bobsleigh
track! The track was built in La Roche and snakes around
the old village. The site was chosen for the 1992 winter Olympic event and work started on November 8th,
1988. You can also visit the arboretum that goes along
the track.
Every wednesday, the events team organise
the ‘Timed Climb’ at the Bobsleigh track. See if you
can smash the record on a bike or on foot!

A day out discovering the Aosta valley, accompanied by a conference guide
from the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire des hautes vallées de Savoie.
Programme of the day:
- 8am: Leave Aime
- 11am: Arrive in Courmayeur, the emblematic village resort with its traditional market.
- 12.00: Lunch in Courmayeur
- 3.15pm: Arrive in La Thuile at the bottom of the Col du Petit St Bernard
- 6.30pm: Arrive back in Aime

You can have a picnic, use the barbecues and enjoy the
facilities available to you...
Carroley lake
(Alt. 2186m)
You will be charmed by the peaceful setting of this
mountain lake located just behind the summit of the
Arpette in the Plagne Bellecôte area. With a little luck,
fishing enthusiasts might even hook the legendary Fario
trout. Fishing permit required.
You can reach this lake on foot by following marked trail
from Belle Plagne. Allow half a day’s walking.

Blanchet s lake
(Alt. 2300m)
Located in the Plagne Bellecôte area, near the Col de
Forcle, this lake is the main drinking water reservoir supplying the resort of la Plagne. You cannot get close to the
reservoir and its banks are fenced off. Notices placed all
around it explain the main hygiene regulations to be followed. The interesting surroundings and geographic location make this a rest area much appreciated by hikers.
T he «col de Forcle» reservoir
Built in 2004, it holds 100 000m3 of water which can produce 200 000m3 of artificial snow, enough to cover 8km
of piste 30m wide. A leisure basin of 2 000m3 surrounds
the reservoir, making it the perfect spot for a picnic or to
watch the marmots.

We would love to see you any Wednesday this summer from July 9th
to August 20th from 10.30am to 4pm (last rentals at 4pm). Come and
row quite safely on the turquoise waters of the Lac Vert overlooking
Mont Blanc.
The kayaks are stable, wide and easy to row so they are adapted to
all ages and sizes. The lake is just below all high altitude resorts.
RATES : Rental 7€ for 30 minutes, includes oars and obligatory life jacket, as well as advice from a state-qualified instructor.
Remember to bring clothes to change into, a towel and closed shoes that you can
wear in the water. You must be able to swim 25m and go under water.

Using an individual streamlined float or hydrospeed,
the swimmer is equipped with a full wet suit and flippers. To take part, you must be over 12 and able to
swim. You will tackle the waves solo under the watchful
eye of your guide.
Discover white water sports through rafting, an original way to explore the Isère Valley, home to the world
canoeing championships. Rafts carrying groups of 8
are paddled downstream under the supervision of a
qualified guide. Team spirit and the ethos of competitive sport will leave you with an unforgettable memory
of a sport open to everybody over the age of 10 and

Aquabulles
The Water Ball activity is for children (from age 5) and adults. It’s a
very simple idea that consists of walking on the water inside a large
ball, but keeping your balance isn’t always as easy as it sounds! We
have 8 water balls, two of which can take several people.

The Base de Loisirs is a bathing spot overseen in the
afternoon by bathing attendants and is equipped for
children’s games with ping-pong tables and picnic
