MLK Holiday—NO SCHOOL
Make sure your scholar is seen
throughout the 2014-2015 Yearbook!
Bring your personal photos on a CD,
or check out a USB from the office to
upload your photos and our Yearbook
chair will have the photos readily
available to place them in the 20142015 Yearbook. Call or come by the
office if you have any questions.
THANK YOU
Thank you for making the Student Council Castle Contest food drive a huge success. The school donated over
1500 pounds of food to the less fortunate. The Middle School scholars helped dismantle the castles and gather the
food items to the Middle School. The 7th grade won “The Largest Castle” with the most cans. The 8th grade was
the “Most Decorative” and the 5th grade was the “Most Magical.”
CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
Thanks to the hard work from our scholars, faculty, and staff for putting on a beautiful
Christmas Pageant this morning! Merry Christmas!

PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS
Pre-K scholars say, “Happy Birthday, Jesus!” We have worked with our fifth grade friends and
learned the song for the pageant. We have enjoyed guest readers, and learned all about Advent.
~ Mrs. Dreyer and Mrs. Stumpf ~
LOWER SCHOOL NEWS
Kindergarten is keeping the spirit of giving by donating blankets made with 6th grade buddies to the Women's Shelter. We
have also made gifts to give to family and friends. Of course, the highlight of December is the Christmas pageant! We
wish all of you a Merry Christmas!
~ Mrs. Blackshear and Mrs. Harms ~
Lower School has been busy with holiday excitement and learning! On December 3rd our First through Fourth Graders created
beautiful holiday t-shirts featuring trees, wreaths, snowmen, reindeer
and angels, which they have enjoyed wearing on Fridays in December. Kinder through Fourth Grade scholars developed their
knowledge of geography and cultural identity as they explored
“Christmas Around the World”. On December 10th the teachers
hosted different countries and activities, with scholars rotating
through each class. Scholars “toured” Mexico, France, Sweden,
Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan, and created many beautiful crafts
inspired by the traditions of those countries. Lower School teachers
and scholars wish all of you a blessed and wonderful Christmas season, filled with the peace and love of Christ!
~ Mrs. McIntire ~
Mrs. Moreno's 2nd Grade Scholars are ready for Christmas!
The 1st grade class went Christmas Caroling in the school office!
The 8th Grade class enjoyed their Christmas party!

LIBRARY CORNER
Birthday Book Club
December 2, 2014
The Birthday Book Club was a great success. Thank you to all parents and grandparents who donated books in honor
of their scholars. Our second Birthday Book Club will be at the end of April—there is still plenty time to sign up.
Scholastic Book Fair 2014
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help with the Scholastic Book Fair. We sold over $11,500 worth of books
and received about $6,900 in Scholastic dollars, which will be used to buy Scholastic magazines for all teachers, classroom materials, and books for the library.
Parent Readers
Thank you to all parents who were able to come and read during story time in the library.
If you would like to come and read in the spring, I will be sending out a signup genius in mid-January.
