THE BRAND
HANDMADE JEWELLERY
What started as a young and innocent love affair between two
people developed into the creative partnership of the brand
DYRBERG/KERN; a jewellery brand with an aesthetic planted
solidly both in Scandinavian soil and in international trends; a
brand and partnership that continue to this very day - 30 years
after.
All DYRBERG/KERN design is managed from our design studio in
Copenhagen, Denmark, where a skilled team of designers sketch
the collections. After the seasonal fashion themes, materials and
colours are decided and each jewellery style is determined, where
manufacturers produce the collection according to our design and
quality standards.
Dyrberg and Kern are both active in the daily operation as the
creative heart and soul of the company. As the Creative Directors,
design masterminds and driving forces; DYRBERG/KERN A/S is
today a brilliant designer jewellery and watch brand, which never
ceases to intrigue and entice consumers around the world. Their
mission is clear: to be a preferred choice for modern and confident
women to express their style and beauty.
How? By offering an extensive and inventive range of iconic
classics and a sultry approach to style and sophistication. A fascination with art, architecture, interior, design, graphics, nature,
film and music has influenced Dyrberg and Kern’s ability to
continuously surprise and seduce consumers infatuated with
their brand.
WE CARE ABOUT
THE ENVIRONMENT
All DYRBERG/KERN products comply with both Danish and
international laws concerning heavy metals, such as Nickel,
Lead, Mercury and Cadmium.
Furthermore, all DYRBERG/KERN’s suppliers are carefully selected in regards to work environment, as we care greatly about
the many skilful workers who produce our wonderful jewellery. We
want to ensure the very best working facilities possible, and our
considerations are stated in our Code of Conduct, upon which we
base our business relationships with our suppliers. We care about
everything from working hours to safety equipment.
We visit our suppliers’ factories often, both to ensure productions,
but indeed also to maintain a good, open and strong relationship which helps to ensure the best possible environment for the
employees. They are important to us; both because they ensure
our quality standard, but also because they help bringing our
products to life. This is why we work hard to maintain a healthy
and safe work environment for the many years to come.
Why? Because it is our passion and we care about everything
that we do. And we do share the same world.

DYRBERG/KERN products are created by hand and undergo many
different processes: from casting, polishing and plating of the metal base,
to hand braided macramé, to cutting, polishing, and insertion of semiprecious stones and brilliant crystals. Finally the many different elements
of one single jewellery piece are assembled. After each process,
a specific uality control is performed
JEWELLERY /
SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS
“Made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS” is the
luxury brand name for the range of precision-cut
crystal chatons we use in much of our jewellery.
BASE MATERIALS USED
The decision regarding which base material to use, depends solely on
the individual design and the properties of the jewellery item. If a soft,
organic look is wanted, we go for brass. If a strong, technically perfect
and clean product is needed, we use stainless steel.
STARLIGHT – CRYSTALTEX BANDING / Small Xilion
chatons are laid on a transparent, silicone base
material. The CrystalTex chaton banding has 590
stones per 5 meter.
Stainless steel is a very hard, strong and durable metal alloy with a
content of iron and chrome. Stainless undergo a number of processes,
which make it practically scratch free and resistible to corrosion and
oxidation. The colour of steel is a cold silvery shade, which may be given
a high polish or structured surface, depending on the desired result.

Brass is typically an alloy made of copper and zink. It is a soft, moldable
yet very strong and scratch free metal, which may be cast and shaped
into practically any form you can imagine. The colour of brass is a soft
yellow shade, which may be polished to perfection, but over time the
colour darkens as it gets in contact with oxygen.
To prevent it from oxidation a top coat is necessary.
THE PLATING
on plating is one of the most advanced surface finishing processes
on the market. Ion plating is carried out in a vacuum environment and
makes the top plating more durable and more resistant.
It also provides a higher brightness.
The greatest advantage of the ion plating process is that the surface
created is both harder and chemically more stable than that produced
through traditional wet plating methods.
Experiments have proven that the plating obtained through Ion plating is
five to eight times better than hat can be obtained through traditional
methods in terms of wear and corrosion resistance.
The colour of the ion plating may change over time with the use of various
coloured, allergy tested metals.

latest EU standards as for the contents of cadmium,
mercury, lead and nickel.
HORN / Natural horn from the Buffalo may either be
marbled in cream colours or all black. The horn is hand
carved and polished by hand into chunky bracelets.
WOOD / Indian Rosewood or Sheesham is harvested
in Northern India. The wood, which comes in brownish
and other dark hues, is hand cut and polished into
bangles. The black variant is coloured.
