time constraints in producing the program. Artwork can also be submitted to Karen Randall at

CORPORATE MATCHING
DONATIONS
Several companies match their
employees’ donation to registered nonprofit Section 501©3 organizations
such as NPHS BOYS BASKETBALL
BOOSTERS, effectively doubling the
amount of your contribution.
Ask your Personnel, Human Resources or Community Relations department how to obtain a matching gift
form. If your company needs any additional information from our Booster organization, please call Penny Francis at
377-1416 or fax her at 498-7471 .
Any inquiries can also be sent to:

Every year the Booster Club produces a program that it is available for sale at all home
games. It contains photos of all the teams, Varsity profiles and stats, records set in past years,
and other Panther-related facts. The revenue generated from the program advertisers go to
support the players and coaches all year.
In an attempt to ease the financial commitment of players and their families, the Booster Board is
again proposing a “profit sharing” of this advertising revenue. Based on the Potential Earnings scale shown
below, player’s can profit from new ad sales for the printed program and gym banners. Earnings will go into
their individual player account, which can only be used to offset the cost of:
•
•
•
Transportation fee - basketball only (all players)
Team Camp - June ’06 (next year’s JV & Varsity)
Coach J’s Advanced Camp - June ‘06 (next year’s F/S)
Contact businesses or individuals that you patronize and don’t limit yourself to Newbury Park. A
copy of a past program would be handy to show as an example. Make copies of the rate sheet on the following page. Be sure to include your player’s name to receive credit. Use one sheet for each ad. Submit all ads
and money to Penny Francis by the November 4th deadline.
The “profit sharing” applies to new advertisers only. The advertisers listed below appeared in the
2004-05 program and do not qualify for this incentive. However, if either parent obtains an ad from their
workplace, that ad would qualify, even if it has appeared before.
In order to participate:
• Ads must be for a new advertiser.
• Earnings can be used for any of the expenses listed
above and any earnings exceeding those costs will revert
to the Booster Club general fund.
• Earnings not used for the expenses listed above by
June 2006 will revert to the Booster Club general fund.
• “Shout Out” ads do not qualify.
Participation is strictly optional. For further information
or to get a copy of past programs, please contact Karen
Randall at 499-0889 or Bruce Takeguma at 498-5536.

Freshmen Off
to a Great Start!
BY LISA BUDNIK, Organizer
Seventeen Freshmen Summer

A thank you to everyone who helped
make this a fun time and a great experience. A very special thank you to several
of you who worked from beginning to end
to make it so successful.
The NPHS Basketball Program is proud to congratulate Jordan Cameron for earning a basketball
scholarship to
Brigham Young University. Jordan, who enters
his senior season as one of the most outstanding players in school
history, will join the Cougars in the fall of 2006.
Additionally, former Panther star Jayme Miller

It’s fast and easy to sign up online. You can also sign-up at the check-out at the store or by
mail. When signing up online, have your “Preferred Savings Card” handy – you will need the number on the back. It’s not as complicated as the instructions make it look.
Go to: www.albertsons.com
At home page – enter zip code 91320 (only need to do this the first time you go to their site).
Next page - click on “In the Community” link in the blue stripe at the bottom of the page
Next page - click on the “Community Partners” logo on the right side, down about half-way
Next page - click on “Shoppers log in or register with Preferred Savings Card”
Next page - at “sign in” enter number from Preferred Savings Card and home phone number –
click log-in
If you get an error message at this point, it is because the phone number doesn’t match the
number entered on the form you filled out for the Preferred Savings Card; or you left out your home
number on that form. If this happens, you can call customer service at: (888) 746-7252 and tell
them you want to update your Preferred Savings Card. They will check the info and make sure it is
correct. I had to do this as my phone number was off by 1 digit. They changed it instantly and then I
was able to go back in and sign up for the rebate program.
If everything is okay, you will see a new page “Welcome to Community Partners”
Click – sign me up
Enter our Community Partners number (this is our group ID #) which is:
49001002073
You can also find our group by our group name: Newbury Park High School Boys Basketball
Boosters, with city and state
Click – add a partner
You will see: NPHS Boys Basketball Boosters and the percentage of your contribution to our
group.
You can have up to 4 non-profits sharing your contributions and this screen is where you
would assign a percentage to each group.
If you don’t need to make any changes, click on the “exit” sign on the signpost.
You can forward these instructions for friends, relatives, etc. You can sign up someone else
if you get their Preferred Savings Card number and home phone number. There is no downside for
anyone – it doesn’t cost anything or prevent them from using coupons, etc.
