location in the South East of England enables us to cover the whole of the
UK.
Prometica offer expert advice and supply high quality UK made equipment
throughout Europe and worldwide. We design, supply and install high
quality filling, capping labelling shrink wrapping and other packaging
systems for industrial, commercial and manufacturing applications.
Our products range from simple 'off the shelf' semi-automatic systems
through to bespoke, custom made, automated packaging lines and
advanced automation solutions.

ranging from start-up businesses through to established production
facilities. Prometica provide basic machines that are reliable and offer a

Prometica have a team of fully trained Service Engineers who look after
installations throughout the United Kingdom and in over 25 countries worldwide.
In many instances the Prometica engineer who services your Machinery will
have been involved in its pre-delivery testing and often in its assembly as well.
Clients can be fully confident that the engineer who arrives at their premises will
be totally familiar with the machine configuration and with their product
requirement.
When it comes to providing spare parts Prometica have a comprehensive first line spares holding ready to
be despatched generally for next day delivery and if it’s really urgent same day courier service can be
arranged.
All of Prometica engineers have received instruction concerning site safety on client’s premises and
appropriate site etiquette instructions are detailed within Prometica's Health and Safety manual.
We are happy to instruct our engineers to attend client’s site induction and to abide by the prescribed site
rules. Where those rules have been formally submitted to Prometica their Service Manager ensures that
the Service Engineer is familiar with them prior to attending site.

Filling Machines
Choosing Your Filling machine
Prometica offer a comprehensive range of liquid fillers to suit most applications
Volumetric (Piston) Fillers
Our most popular range is the VF Volumetric Filler system. These machines are inexpensive,
easy to operate and offer an upgrade path should your requirements expand. The VF range is
suitable for everything from low viscosity liquids such as fuel or water through to heavy sauces,
salsas, salad dressings, cosmetic creams, heavy shampoo, gels, and conditioners, paste cleaners
and waxes, adhesives, heavy oils and lubricants.
Positive Displacement (Gear Pump) Fillers
Electronically Controlled Gear Pump Fillers are ideal for applications where you will frequently
change your filling volume.
The Gear Pump Filer is micro-processor controlled, allowing rapid change-over between
different bottle sizes. More expensive than Volumetric Piston fillers, these machines are ideal
where batch sizes are typically less than 400 units.
Isobaric Fillers
Isobaric or Counter Pressure machines are mainly used in filling soda drinks, such as cola, light
sparkling wine, mineral water etc. These units can, where necessary, be used in conjunction
with carbonization units to mix gas with the product.
Peristaltic Fillers
Peristaltic Fillers are specifically designed for high value; small volume fills at very high accuracy.
Suitable for aqueous and other light viscosity products such as pharmaceutical preparations,
fragrances, essential oils, reagents, inks, dyes, and specialty chemicals.
The fluid path is disposable resulting in easy cleanup and elimination of cross contamination
problems. Accuracies of 0.5% are achievable for fill volumes less than 1 ml.
Gravity (or Overflow) Fillers.
Gravity fillers are best suited for liquids with low to medium viscosity such as water, wine or
chemicals.

Prometica VF Volumetric Filler Range
Manufactured for Prometica, the Prometica VF Fillers are versatile, reliable and easy to use
piston filling machines designed for sauces, creams and liquids. With a range of single dose
filling capabilities VF Fillers can accommodate volumes as low as 2ml up to 5L with an accuracy
of 1%.
The VF range are excellent ‘starter’ semi-automatic machines that can be upgraded should
demand increase.
Available in up to 4 head configuration and expandable from a single head, VF machines can be
fitted with various nozzle types, including diving nozzles for foamy products.
Semi-Automatic Machines
Prometica semi-automatic filling machines are versatile, inexpensive and easy to operate.
Manufactured from 304 stainless steel, the machines
offer easy adjustment between different filling
volumes allowing quick and easy product changeover.
Most machines include pneumatic shutoff valves to
ensure zero leakage after filling.
With single head, twin head and hopper options the
Prometica range combines excellent accuracy with
high speed operation – filling rates of up to 2400
bottles per hour* can be achieved, with an accuracy
of 1%.
The machines are built around a substantial stainless steel
chassis which incorporates an air regulator and a quick release air coupling.
The filling nozzle is detachable allowing filling to be incorporated into existing production lines.
Machines can be supplied with an electrical control
system (240v 1ph) or for fully pneumatic operation (ideal
for wet environments or for use with hazardous
products).

Volumetric Fillers offer highly accurate filling, food grade/chemical resistant construction and
quick, tool-free clean down.
All contact parts are produced in 304 stainless or food grade materials. Options are available for
316 stainless and solvent/corrosive resistant hoses and seals. The nylon dispensing pistons are
suitable for hot fills (up to 92°C). Teflon pistons are also available for higher temperature
requirements
Semi-Automatic Machines: The basic semi-automatic machines incorporate the same high
quality and stainless steel components as are used in the
production of our larger machines.
Developed to suit lower volume applications, the semiauto units can still offer an impressive fill rate of up to
1200 bottles per hour (depending on product
characteristics, fill volume and operator capability)
Intended for bench top mounting, the machines include a
sturdy aluminium support structure which can be bolted
to any suitable surface. The filler can be supplied ready
mounted on a stainless steel table if required.
Semi-Automatic fillers are supplied with an external 24v
power supply unit ensuring safe operation even in wet
environments. Equipped with an advanced micro-processor logic controller, the machine is
suitable for stand-alone applications or can be integrated with other equipment as your
automation requirements grow

Fully Automatic vf Filling Machines
Prometica’s fully automatic machines are available in a variety of configurations to suit most
applications.
Single, twin or four filling heads can be incorporated together with product tanks, diving nozzles,
shut-off valves and bottle gating.

Fully Automatic Machines: Standard ‘two part’ machines comprise of a twin head machine with
tool adjustable filling volume control, adjustable nozzle height, and adjustable product gating
and adjustable nozzle gapping (for differing bottle sizes). The filler body is mounted on stainless
steel chassis unit. Equipped with easy to clean, hygienic fittings throughout. The machine body
can be dissembled without tools if necessary .Two part construction allows standard machine to
be integrated with existing conveyor or handling systems. Two part construction allows
complete filler to be detached and removed (for offline cleaning, offline filling operations or for
integration with other lines) without disturbing conveyor section. Colour coded pneumatics and
push-fit bulkhead fittings together with plug-in connection for conveyor supply allow even
inexperienced operators to set up and configure the filling system. Filling volumes and filling
speed can be adjusted easily using the intuitive controls on the machine.
Nozzles assembly allows different bottle sizes to be accommodated easily and quickly. The filler
body incorporates a variable power supply to the conveyor section (speed adjustable from filler

Automatic powder filling Range
PTP series automatic screw blanking powder filling machines use a PLC and auger filling
mechanism. Auger Fillers are filling mechanism which measure out a product, usually powder or

Hand-Held Cappers
Prometica’s pneumatic unit provides torque to caps on bottles. The operator places and starts
caps on bottles; after pressing the unit down on the cap the operator activates the unit while
holding down the container.
Handheld capper provides relief from blisters, fatigue and potential carpal tunnel damage
associated with overworking the hands and wrists. It is also 30 – 50% quicker than manual

Vibratory Bowl feeder
Vibratory bowl feeders are the most common devices used to feed individual
components or parts in industrial assembly
automation applications. Vibratory feeders are
self-contained systems comprising of a specially
tooled bowl feeder that orientates the parts, a
vibrating drive unit, upon which the bowl feeder is
mounted and a variable-amplitude control box.
The bowl feeder includes an out feed
accumulation track to convey parts along and
discharge into the assembly machine comes in
many shapes and sizes. The drive unit vibrates the bowl feeder, forcing the parts to
move up a circular, inclined track. The track is designed to sort and orient the parts

Semi-Automatic R.o.p.p Capping Machine
Prometica ROPP Capper is a Roll over Pilfer Proof capper designed to thread and seal aluminium
caps onto rigid containers. The ROPP capping heads can be adjusted for an assortment of
container shapes, diameters, and heights. Designer beverages or champagne bottles are good
examples of containers with ROPP closures.
Prometica ROPP capper is widely used for
Liquor, Medical, Pharmaceuticals, Beverages,
Food, Agrochemicals, Edible oil, Lube oil and
misc. industries. Heads with low tension
springs can be fitted to seal PET / PVC / HDPE
bottle. Capping heads can be adjusted for any
shape and sizes bottles. Capping heads with
two threading and two sealing rollers for
different diameters and heights (standard
semi-deep drawn, deep drawn, extra deep
drawn) of caps.
The sealing & threading pressure can be easily
adjusted. Centering guides fitted in the heads ensure that bottle is centered properly before
capping to ensure precise and accurate capping.

Labelling Machinery
Selecting Your Labeller
Prometica can supply labelers to suit most applications. From the simplest low-cost, semiautomatic unit though to an integrated in-line, computer controlled system.
For non-standard requirements, prometica’s talented engineering team can design and build
bespoke machines to suit your exact requirements.
Simple & Low Volume Applications
To apply wrap around labels to jars and bottles in small batches use the semi-automatic
machine (see page 21). This machine requires an operator – so it is labour intensive, but it ideal
where only occasional use is required or where batch sizes of less than say 400 are required.
A label dispenser is useful to assist manual labelling of flat products. The dispenser improves
efficiency by increasing through-put by around 30% compared to manual peal & stick labelling.

Bottom & Top/Bottom Labelling
Prometica offer a very simple, basic top & bottom labeller comprising a
two part belt with a fixed position bottom mounted AP labeller and an
optional top labeller mounted on an aluminum support structure. This
basic system starts at only £7995 for a bottom only labelling system or
£12950 for top and bottom labelling.

Wrap Around Labelling
Prometica offer a variety of Wrap-around labelling systems, ranging from the simple semiautomatic machine (the PT360 see page 21) to fully integrated, multi-label application systems.
The next model in the range, after the PT360, is the Label Line Compact (see page 23) This
impressive, inline, labelling machine represents truly outstanding value at less than £8995.
For applications where the product is top heavy or unstable, a top labeller can be combined with
a roller conveyor allowing product to be laid on its side.
Labelling Oval Products
The labelling of oval products, such as some trigger spay bottles, requires the bottle to be
accurately aligned and then stabilized before labelling to ensure consistent label application.

Labelling Tapered Pots
Applying labels to tapered pots and pails requires shaped labels in order to avoid
‘spiraling’ on the product. The labelling head is mounted on an adjustable support
structure allowing fine adjustment of the angle of the head relative to the tapered
surface of the product. Typically one of our ‘high-end machines, such as the
Labelline Master (see page 24) would be used for this application.

Tamper Evident Labelling
Tamper evident labelling, as shown in the picture, can be achieved in
several ways.
Typically the label will be applied to the top using a standard AP range
applicator and a simple roller mounted on a pneumatic arm will wipe
the tail of the label down.
The application can be more complex if the label must be applied ‘inregister’ with other features of the pack, but in this simple configuration the labeller with the
wipe down roller and control system costs from £4950 plus a conveyor if required (see page 42
for conveyors)

Choosing Your Shrink-Wrapper
Shrink Wrappers are used for three main
purposes:



Retail display or presentation
Multi-packing
Transit Protection
Presentation Packaging
Applications include: Books, CDs, DVDs,
Catalogs, Calendars, Note Pads, Reams/Paper ,
Irregular Shapes etc etc
Presentational packaging can be achieved using Chamber, L Sealer, Automatic L Sealer, Side
Sealer or Flow Wrapper.
The main factor is selecting your machine is the size of the pack you require
and the number of packs you need per hour. See the machine specifications
below.
Multi-packing
Multi-packing is more difficult with fully automated machines unless products
can be collated before wrapping.
Generally Chamber and L Sealers are used for such applications.
Transit Protection
Transit Packs usually require the use of a Sleeve Wrapper. These machines use a heavy duty film
to create a strong package. Note the telltale oval ‘eye’ at the end of the pack.
Applications include wrapping bottles, jars or cans in a tray (or without a tray – depending on
machine). Also cartons, floor tiles etc.

Chamber (2in1) Machines
Prometica’s Chamber Sealers are robust, reliable and easy to operate. The machines incorporate
controls for sealing time, shrinking time and shrinking temperature and can be used to wrap a
wide range of products using most shrink film types.
The machine uses pre-folded shrink film.
The folded edge forms one closure of the
pack. The machine closes the other faces
sealing the pack before the film is shrunk.
To operate the user places his product
between the faces of the film on the
integral assembly tray, he moves the
product to the left, brings down the
chamber hood which is automatically held
in place until the cycle is complete. Whilst
the sealing and shrink process is underway
the operator can prepare the next pack.
The whole process is complete in just a few seconds.

Integrated sealing and shrinking in one step.
Transparent hood makes the sealing and shrinking visible.
Adopts glass fiber cutler's isolator and nickel alloy cutter to produce a perfect sealing
line and to avoid the film sticking the cutter. Equipped with pin roller to pierce the film
(allowing air out).
The height of the package supporting mesh inside the chamber can be adjusted for
different sizes of products.

Case Tapers
Prometica offer several Case Taping machines. Our most popular product is the EXC-305.
This machine is an auto carton sealer with integrated top and
bottom sealing functions
Designed using the traditional method to feed the cartons by
drive belt and then to seal it using adhesive tape.
It just takes 1-2 minutes to make adjustment for applicable
carton sizes manually.
Widely variable and suitable for all kinds of carton
It's an economical, labour saving machine that is easy to operate, inexpensive and reliable.
