APARTMENTS
These en suite self-catering apartments are situated in Ranmoor/Endcliffe. They provide
single study bedrooms for between between 5 and 8 students per apartment. The focal
points for Ranmoor/Endcliffe are The Ridge and The Edge, which provide a wide range of
facilities including a dining room, café, bars, launderettes and social and meeting space
for all residents. Located next to The Edge is The Village Store, which is a one stop shop
for student essentials.

Kitchen/Communal
Rooms
Ranmoor/Endcliffe apartments are within a
20 minute walk of the main University and the
Students’ Union. A comprehensive range of shops
are available in Broomhill, just 5 minutes’ walk
away. There are frequent bus services to the
city centre and main University buildings, which
charge special student fares.
The kitchen/living/dining rooms are well
equipped, each with a breakfast bar/dining table,
stools/chairs, an electric cooker, microwave,
fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. The living room
areas are furnished with comfortable seating and
a coffee table. Also available are a vacuum cleaner,
iron, ironing board, mop bucket, dust pan and
brush. We do not provide duvets, pillows, bed
linen, towels, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils,
TV and audio equipment etc.
Studios
There are 18 single occupancy studios located
within cluster apartments in Kinder, Wimberry
and Windgather for undergraduate students on
42 week contracts. Residents have a cooking area
within the studio consisting of 2 electric rings a
microwave oven and fridge. They come with a
double bed and en suite bathroom.
Laddow Studios are for undergraduates and
postgraduate students and are let on a 51 week
contract and are suitable for couples and single
students. They are completely self-contained with
their own kitchen facilities, living area, double bed,
two desks and chairs and two wardrobes. There’s
a large en-suite shower room and WC too. Studios
are furnished with a full double bed (54 in x 75 in).
Study Bedrooms
The study bedrooms are located in 3, 4 and 5 storey
buildings that are divided into self-contained
apartments which are gas central heated sharing
a kitchen/living/dining room.
The following furniture is provided in single en suite
study bedrooms: fitted carpet, curtains, bed with
storage space (standard 36 in x 75 in) wardrobe,
wall shelving, desk, chair, a 3 drawer pedestal unit,
and a full length mirror. En suite bathrooms have
a shower (wet room), WC and washbasin. Deluxe
rooms are furnished with a full double bed (54 in
x 75 in). There are 76 Deluxe bedrooms available
in Ranmoor/Endcliffe apartments, situated in
Cratcliffe, Howden and Rivelin. Adapted bedrooms
are also available situated in Burbage, Howden and
Rivelin apartments.

Launderette
Launderettes are provided across the residences
offering access to washing machines and dryers in
various locations. You can check if machines are
available using Laundry View, a service allowing
you to sign up for alerts to tell you when your wash
is complete. Further information will be provided
in your key pack on arrival.
Parking
Sheffield has a great public transport system,
so we advise that you don’t bring a car with you.
However, if you do need to bring one there are
a limited number of parking spaces in Ranmoor/
Endcliffe. Students may apply for a resident
parking permit online once they have registered
at the University and have a Ucard number. There
is a charge for a parking permit and places will
depend on availability and are not guaranteed.

Internet Connection
All rooms have wireless high-speed internet
and are connected to the University’s network.
Internet provision is included in the rent.
Insurance
University accommodation is covered by a Student
Insurance Block Policy, which means that contents
insurance is included as part of your rent. Depending
on the value of your personal items your insurance
can be upgraded, information will be provided along
with your residence contract.
Safety and Security
There’s a dedicated team of University Security
staff who patrol the residences and monitor the
extensive CCTV coverage to look after your safety
and security 7 days a week.
Residence Life
Residence Mentors are experienced students
who are happy to support you during your time in
University accommodation and ensure a positive
living experience for everyone. Your Residence
Mentor will come to your apartment and greet you
during your first few weeks here. They’ll visit regularly
while you’re living in University accommodation and
can answer a lot of questions and help you deal
with issues such as noise and disagreements if they
arise. You will receive more information and contact
details when you arrive.
