Splashtop Whiteboard Splashtop Incorporated V.2.0.0.3 (Screenshots from iOS 6 for ipad) $19.99 (without volume purchase program) Splashtop Whiteboard is an app broken out into two features; desktop sharing and annotation. The desktop sharing will allow you to view your computer desktop and control your computer through your ipad. The annotation features allow you to freeze the current screen, annotate, save and share the annotated material. Computer Requirements 1. The desktop/laptop will require a “Splashtop Streamer”. You can download the free streamer by going to this location. (http://www.splashtop.com/streamer). 2.The streamer will require a few steps for setup. For security, you may enter a password under the “Others” Tab. The additional tabs may remain unchanged. 3. The Splashtop Streamer will place a folder on your desktop. that any saved Splashtop Whiteboard content will be found. It is in this folder Contributed by Graduate Students from the Assistive Technology Program at Simmons College Steps to Connecting (ipad to computer) You now have the Splashtop streamer on your computer and the Splashtop app on you ipad. 1. Tap on the app icon on the ipad 2. Choose your computer from the list. 3. Enter the password you entered during Splashtop Streamer setup. Tap OK. 4. When you initially connect, the computer will briefly display a prompt confirming connection. Connected Once connected, the computer desktop will appear on the ipad. You can now navigate and access materials as you would if you were on your computer. The lower right hand side of the screen contains two icons. 1. ! ! Access keyboard 2. ! ! Initiate Annotation Contributed by Graduate Students from the Assistive Technology Program at Simmons College Annotate Initiate annotation by tapping the pencil icon located in the lower right of the screen. Once in annotation mode, the screen border and pencil icon change to the color orange. In addition, there are a series of annotation tools displayed at the top, center of the screen. Tap on any annotation tool to reveal options related to the tool. Save the screen by tapping the “Snapshot” icon.! The material is saved in the “Snapshot” folder found inside the Splashtop Whiteboard folder located on your computer. Resources 1. Utilizing a stylus is a helpful tool for navigating and annotating. 3. In the instance that the app can not see the computer you may add the computer IP address into the Splashtop App by tapping the + icon.
