HUNTER DIVISION
Unless otherwise stated, all hunter classes are to be judged on performance and soundness. Horses entered in any hunter and/or equitation class
must pay a $50 Hunter/Equitation Fee in addition to the entry deposit fee and class fees. Hunters and Equitation Horses will be allowed to add
or scratch classes the day before with no extra charge and will receive full credit for scratched classes. Adds or scratches that are done the day of
the class, will incur a $10 per class charge (if allowed).
The courses offered at this show will consist of at least eight fences with two changes of direction. The fences will simulate obstacles found in the
hunting field.
Classes in the hunter rings will have specific starting times for each class and these times will be strictly adhered to. Each class in the hunter
rings will have an allotted amount of time. Classes will end at the scheduled finish time. Riders who have not shown within the allotted time
will not be allowed to show. Posted orders may be imposed at any time. All entries must be made by 5:00 pm (or ½ hour after the last class,

YOUNG JUMPER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011
The Young Jumper Championship has been organized to provide an opportunity for tomorrow’s Grand Prix horses to compete in meaningful
competition against their peers. Offered for five, six, and seven/eight year old horses that are recorded with YJC and USEF. Horses not
previously recorded may apply at the Show Office for YJC and USEF recording upon presentation of the horse’s breed registration papers and
payment. Horses are then eligible to enter all YJC events in 2011. Competing successfully in qualifying classes is a prerequisite for competing in
the League Finals of the YJC, to be held on both the East and West Coasts. Please visit the YJC website at www.youngjumpers.com for complete
rules.
Qualifying Classes, along with League Finals, will be offered for Five, Six, and Seven/Eight Year Old horses in 2011. To be eligible to participate
in any aspect of the YJC program, horses must meet the following criteria: 1. RECORDING: Horses must be recorded for the year 2011 with the
Young Jumper Championships. The correct recording fee must accompany the completed YJC Recording Form. The recording fee will be
discounted 50% in the case of horses properly nominated to the International Jumper Futurity, provided they submit a copy of their IJF
certificate directly to the Young Jumper Championships, P.O. Box 1445, Georgetown, KY 40324.
Horses that were not properly recorded prior to participation in any YJC class will not receive credit toward qualification for League Finals. Please
note it is the responsibility of the owner or trainer, and not the show or the YJC, to assure that horses are properly recorded. A listing of currently
YJC Recorded horses will be updated regularly on the web site at http://www.youngjumpers.com.

entered must be ridden only in the designated National Hunter Derby warm-up area(s) wearing their classic competition number. This includes
horses entered simultaneously in another class, if any. Entered horses ridden or schooled elsewhere on the competition grounds or NOT wearing
their classic competition number will be eliminated from competing in the classic and the entry fee will be forfeited. Management will designate
a knowledgeable technical person, other than a member of management or one of the classic judges, to serve as the technical delegate for each
National Hunter Derby. This TD will be present during both phases of the class, and available to competitors and officials to answer
questions and resolve disputes that arise pertaining to the National Hunter Derby. A computer ranking system tracks the money won for both
the horse and rider.
The course diagrams for each round must be posted a minimum of one hour before the start of the first round, unless the second round is held at
another time. In that case, the course for the second round must be posted a minimum of one hour prior. Competing in the USHJA National
Hunter Derby does not qualify a horse or rider for the USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals.
Judging System: Each class must have a minimum of two judges who sit together. One judge must be an “R”judge, the other may be either a
“R”or “r”judge. The judging panel will provide one score and the scores from each round will be either averaged or added as specified in the Prize
