A country of sun and history,
Turkey straddles the point where Europe and Asia meet.
It is located where the three continents making
up the old world, Asia, Africa and Europe, are
closest to one another. Because of its geographical location, the mainland, Anatolia, has witnessed the mass migration of diverse people
shaping the history. Home to countless civilizations, Anatolia has developed a unique blend of
cultures—each with its own distinct identity, each
linked to its predecessors through history. As an
ancient land and modern nation, Turkey today
holds and protects the common past of all people.

wooden horse.

The last meal on Noah’s Ark, a pudding of sweet and sour taste (Asure), is still served throughout
Turkey.

some Turkey information and the top 10 reasons why a Turkey vacation is the ideal getaway.
History
Turkey is extraordinary rich in history. Did you
know that Turkey hosts the most archaeological sites in the world? Anatolia is the birthplace
of many civilizations, empires, historic figures
and legends. One of the oldest known human
inhabited areas is in Catalhoyuk, Konya dating

Nowadays, Turkey is not only rich in shopping alternatives ranging from historical shopping locations to modern shopping malls
but also the symbol of diversity of products.
7
Culture
Turkey’s population is a diverse mixture of
many different ethnic origins and that shows
when you visit different regions of the country. Each region has different traditions; their
own arts, music and folklore, and even their
eating habits are totally unique to the region.
Eating
Turkish cuisine is among the best in the world. It is a
fusion of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes.
There are so many culinary delights like the Turkish
tea, Turkish coffee and the famous Turkish delight.
You can find these almost anywhere in Turkey,
while the most delicious kebabs are in southeastern
part. The foods that are brought in small portions
before the main course are called “Meze” in Turkish and they are fabulous. Fish also holds a very
important place in Turkish cuisine and Fish restaurants and taverns can be found near the bay areas.
Turkish Bath - Hamam
Spa Experience
This is definitely a must if you are intending to visit
Turkey. Turkish Bath or hamam as it is called here,
will help you relax and unwind and get rid of all your
nervous energies. A Turkish Spa is also a favorite
among tourists nowadays since it combines traditional hamam experience with more Far Eastern touches like using aromatic smells and certain massages.

place. Hiking, trekking, mountain biking, river rafting, scuba diving, windsurfing, wave

series of pavilions in four courtyards – a tribute
in stone to the tent encampments of his nomadic
forebears. Mehmet’s palace was also the seat of
government, and contained a college for training
officials and soldiers. While government moved
across the road to the Sublime Porte in the 16th
century, Topkapı continued as the sultan’s palace
until Abdül Mecit I moved to Dolmabahçe Palace
in 1853. With exhibits including the jewel-encrust-

mosque was laid out in 196 by the Roman emperor Severus. Constantine the Great turned it into a

Constantinople’s social life beat and also where
popular displeasure was given voice and sometimes erupted into riots and rebellion. Three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.
