Just Married Xanthe & Kenneth Hinkley South Woodford couple, Xanthe Moon and Kenneth Hinkley, tied the knot earlier this year in a spring themed ceremony, at the beautiful Gaynes Park. We met up with the newlyweds to talk Easter baskets, mini eggs, kiwi green and some very pricy shorts. How did you lovebirds meet? Xanthe: We first met at a fireworks night, through my cousin David, but there weren’t any sparks that night. It wasn’t until we met up again in Soho that Ken asked for my number. In order to ask me for it he jumped in my cab, even though he lived nowhere near! So Ken went out of his way to get to know you better… Moving swiftly on from that terrible pun, how did the proposal happen? Xanthe: We had talked about getting engaged before, so I knew it was coming. Ken took me on one of our favourite walks in Epping Forest. He told me he was wearing some very expensive shorts. Ken: Because I had the ring in the pocket! It’s not often a pair of short trousers come diamond encrusted! On to another item of clothing tell us about the dress. Xanthe: The gown came from Brenda Lorraine Bridal Wear. It felt like the dress was made to suit my figure! Silver ivory silk with a sweetheart neckline, the design was based on a Jean Paul Gaultier bottle, for a classic feminine look.! So that’s what you wore, now for what you did. What was your big day like? Xanthe: We loved the natural feel to Gaynes Park. Ken proposed in Epping Forest, so it was apt that we got married there! We fell for the beautiful grounds and flowers, adoring the light airy feel of the orangery and the rustic barn. As the theme was spring we dressed my three bridesmaids in kiwi green, which complimented the soft pinks and green floral theme designed by our florist Stacey Stevens. Stacy also created the cherry blossom arch for the orangery. Ken: We had giant garden games, including snakes and ladders and jenga, set up in the grounds. And because of the time of year, we choose to have Easter baskets, complete with mini eggs as our table favours and gave each of the children a Lindt chocolate bunny. Well that sounds eggcellent; before we leave you to your marital bliss do you have any advice for those planning their wedding? Both: Create a spreadsheet to keep tabs on payments and jobs done. Our friends created one for their wedding which they gave to us to use. Bride’s Dress: Brenda Lorraine Bridal Wear www.brenda-lorraine.co.uk. Bride’s Accessories: Brenda Lorraine and Monsoon.
