You’ll love the Foiling Flight School if you want to start with a shorter, more manageable mast and
progress in length as your skills progress. This will help dramatically in developing the basic coordination
and muscle memory required to become a proficient foiler.

STEP 1
TAXI STAGE
15-INCH MAST
Getting a feel for how your foil behaves is much easier, and safer, with a shorter and more manageable
mast. This stage is called the Taxi stage, as in an airplane taxiing around the runway. Staring with the
15-inch mast will help you master the basic foiling skills like how to properly carry your foil, how to swim
and body drag with it, how to get it in position to water start and how to get it under your feet and
moving through the water. With a shorter mast, you’ll learn these basic steps much faster and easier
than if you were struggling with a full-size one. Once you’re comfortable with the foil beneath your feet,
have a basic understanding of how it behaves, can taxi back and forth like a regular surfboard and are
able to ride short distances out of the water, you’ll be ready to graduate to the 24-inch mast.
STEP 2
TOUCH & GO STAGE
24-INCH MAST
The 24-inch mast is an invaluable tool in earing your first extended foil rides. As you rise and fall off of the
water and begin to foil longer in between, you’ll appreciate the easier handling a shorter mast provides.
You’ll be amazed at how quickly you get the hang of foiling and will fall in love with the feeling of silently
and smoothly gliding over the water. Once you’re getting extended and controlled rides without touching
down on the water, you’ll be ready for the full 30-inch mast.
The 24-inch mast is also a good long-term option for kiters who frequent shallow water and want a little
extra room between their foil and the ground.
STEP 3
SOLO STAGE
30-INCH MAST
After working your way up to the 30-inch mast, you’ll truly appreciate the Foiling Flight School program
and the easy progression it provided. You’ll know how to get the foil into position, how to get up properly,
how to balance you center of gravity and will be ready for longer and longer rides. At this point you’ll be
hooked on foiling, and best of all you will have skipped the frustrating and often painful process many
people endured in learning on a full-sized setup. Once you’re comfortable foiling in mixed conditions,
carving upwind, cruising downwind and touching down for basic transitions, you’ll be ready to graduate
to the full 35.5-inch foil. The 30-inch masts is also a good long-term option for kiters who frequent
shallow water and want a little extra room between their foil and the ground.

Slingshot has reworked and refined the Rally over the years to polish the kite into what it is today. In
2016 we made some slight adjustments to the geometry and bridles to increase handling and steering
speed. Those changes were very well received, so we’ve carried them over for 2017 and have added a
couple other subtle modifications. For sizes 8, 9 and 10 we’ve made very subtle changes in geometry
and strut diameter to clean up the canopy ever so slightly. Trailing edge tension is now controlled
with the addition of Teijin T2 Polyester rip stop canopy material. This decreases trailing edge flutter
and increases durability. We reinforced the one-pump inflation valve’s connection to the bladder to
help prevent blowouts caused by improper hose attachment/detachment. Finally, we added two Kevlar
patches to prevent bridle rub on the trailing edges.

RALLY BRIDLE CONFIGURATION
The Rally features a compact-direct connect pulley-less bridle with three connection points (per side) on the
leading edge and a single connection on the wingtips. This configuration is engineered to give the Rally its
renowned range and depower, turning speed, easy of relaunch and unrivaled upwind performance. For customized
performance, the Rally’s wingtip bridle can be connected at three different points, which allows for tuning of bar
pressure, kite feedback and steering speed.

When we introduced the WAVE SST last year, we received immediate and overwhelmingly positive feedback
from advanced kite surfers around the world. The WAVE SST is amazing, people said, it tracks magically

sought-after characteristics of a surf-specific kite, and the 2017 WAVE SST is packed with the same great

The WAVE SST features a Compact-C canopy profile and a condensed version of Slingshot’s popular shockabsorbing IRS bridle system. The combination of canopy geometry and bridle configuration results in a kite
that flies deep in the window, in the sweet spot for surf-specific performance. Two main features that make
the WAVE SST such an amazing surf kite are: How well it drifts downwind and how quickly it can pivot even
when you’re depowered, sheeted out or moving toward the kite. These characteristics also make the WAVE
an ideal kite for foiling. The WAVE SST is extremely robust, taking Slingshot’s bomber surf-tough standards
a step farther, with a special Surf Grid panel layout that adds strength and durability to the canopy, and a

The WAVE SST features a condensed version of Slingshot’s unique shock-absorbing Intuitive Response System
(IRS) bridle. This revolutionary bridle replaces pulleys with bungee line segments that expand and contract to keep
proper tension as the kite travels through the window. This results in faster turning, more direct feedback and

The Crossbreed’s 11’ shape offers more diversity than any other board design available, which is why we have made
