GARY MARKASKY CHRIS WINTRIP JOE VITALE MARTY LEE HOENES Special Opening Set CLAPTON TRIBUTE EVOLUTION It is our deepest desire to pay homage to Mr. Eric Clapton. Through the years, Clapton has been a major influence and icon who inspired artist, Christopher Wintrip, founder of CTE. “We want to do justice to rock music’s most legendary performer, Mr. Eric Clapton.” We cover Clapton’s musical career performing hit songs from The Yard Birds, Blues Breakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominoes and Claptan’s solo career and hits for an “incredible journey through time” and the “Full Eric Clapton Experience.” Chris: guitar/vocals Christopher Wintrip: Professional guitarist, vocalist, recording artist, and producer. Mr. Wintrip has enjoyed a successful music career performing with Joe Walsh, Frampton’s Camel, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Roger McGuinn, Harry Chapin, Billy Sheehan, The New York Dolls, The Raspberries, Phil Keaggy and Glass Harp, including a special honor in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame’s 1997 exhibit “My Town” with his prog band “Brimstone” and their LP “Paper Winged Dreams.” Kevin: keyboards/vocals Kevin DiSimone: His outstanding track record includes singing, writing and producing hit songs for Barry Manilow, Carly Simon, Bette Midler, Willie Nelson, Stevie Wonder and more. Some of Kevin’s songs have hit top 10 and top 20 on the charts. Kevin has written many coporate industrials for radio and television and has appeared on numerous TV spots including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Kevin has recorded his own music with Columbia Records, Warner Brothers, Scotti Brothers and Mesa Blue Moon Records. Klay: guitar/vocals Klayton Krumm: A musical prodigy, Klay began playing trumpet, trombone and tuba in junior high. He became a natural at Bass Guitar at the age of 12, then quickly assimilated to Lead Guitar at age 13, performing live at the Palace Theatre in Canton, Ohio. Studying jazz and blues, Klay enjoys playing just about any type of music. In 2012, his metal band “Stack the Bodies High” opened for Mushroomhead in Cleveland, Ohio and gave a moshing performance to envy. He’s currently studying classical guitar, “just to round out my skills.” This young man is going places! 2 Special Opening Set CLAPTON TRIBUTE EVOLUTION Warren: bass Warren Henry: Warren has approached music from many angles. He started playing guitar at age five and never stopped. In college he studied guitar and piano, classical and jazz. Not content to just play, he learned to build, repair and customize guitars and bases, and spent time working for guitar making icon, Leo Fender. Teaching is another aspect of music Warren enjoys. Warren has played guitar and bass with many local bands, playing styles ranging from surf to jazz to classic rock. In addition to performing and teaching, Warren owns a retail music store in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Scott: drums Scott Grewell: Scott has played drums for over 50 years. He was a Music Major at Kent State University and Mount Union College. Scott has taught drums and percussion for over 40 years. He is the former owner of Zampino’s Drum Shop. Scott toured the U.S. extensively in the 1970’s and 80’s with the band Brimstone. He also toured Europe with Jazz Band of America. Other local bands include Xenia, Cajun Butter, Tin Hunt Trio and Jeff Poulos Blues Revue. Scott has opened for many national acts including Robert Cray, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Jimmy Thackery. 3 Photos courtesy of What’s Up Ohio 12 Photos courtesy of What’s Up Ohio Gary Markasky guitar, vocals You will enjoy this high-energy guitar player and vocalist. Gary, a Youngstown, Ohio native is best known for his years spent as lead guitarist with the Michael Stanley Band (1978-83). In 1980, “Heartland” one of their most popular albums rocked the airwaves with hits “Lover” and “He Can’t Love You.” Gary was a huge part of the band’s musical success. Gary continues to rock and perform leading The Gary Markasky Project. 13 Photos courtesy of What’s Up Ohio Marty Lee Hoenes guitar, vocals Marty Lee who is best known as the lead guitarist for Donnie Iris and the Cruisers and the national hit song, “Love is Like a Rock.” which was featured on MTV. Marty Lee is a freelance artist and designer, having designed many of the band’s albums. He joined the Ohio Rock Legends and has excelled as the frontman and feature lead vocalist for the historic rock show. He leads his own local group, Brother Rite who will be opening shows for the Clapton Tribute EVOLUTION. 15 Joe Vitale Jr. percussion, vocals, guitar Joe spent much of his life growing up on the road with acts his dad performed with, such as Joe Walsh, Crosby Stills & Nash, Dan Fogelberg, The Eagles, and many others. Joe has toured as a percussionist with Joe Walsh, The Stephen Stills Blues Band, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Check out Joe’s website: www.joevitalejr.com 16 Chris Wintrip guitar, vocals The Ohio Rock Legends band was formed in 2015 by Chris and was inspired by the Cleveland Rock Hall of Fame exhibit called My Town. All of the featured artists in the show were part of this unique display. 17 Joe Vitale drums, vocals Joe is a veteran musician and drummer whose career has spanned over 40 years of touring, recording, song writing, and producing with legendary and Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame artists. He has recorded and toured with Ted Nugent, Joe Walsh, Dan Fogelberg, Peter Frampton, the Eagles, Crosby Stills and Nash, and CSNY to name a few. His songwriting credits include the classic Joe Walsh song, “Rocky Mountain Way,” and Pretty Maids All in a Row, from The Eagles classic album, “Hotel California,” both co-written with Joe Walsh. Joe continues to tour, record, write and produce. 18
