The museum features five 11th-century Viking ships and a heritage boatyard where clinker-built ships are reconstructed using original crafts. Here visitors can venture on daily sailing trips on board reconstructed Vikings ships. Roskilde is located close to Copenhagen in an area designated as a national park in 2015. Fun rides and amusements for the whole family BonBon-Land offers fun for everyone. The story of BonBon-Land started with a candy factory in Holme-Olstrup making candy with crazy, quirky names, which now also have their own rides. BonBon-Land is one of Denmark’s popular amusement parks, listed among the World’s Strangest Theme Parks by USA Today in 2011. The sepulcral cathedral is the final resting place of 20 Danish kings and 17 queens and enjoys UNESCO World Heritage patronage. 4 GAVNØ CASTLE 5 MØNS KLINT & STEVNS KLINT 6 KNUTHENBORG SAFARI PARK Half a million tulips and royal collections Gavnø Castle, one of Denmark’s finest Rococo castles, is located on an island of its own surrounded by flower gardens. Originally the site of a pirate’s castle, Gavnø became a convent in 1398 and later a royal residence. Today, open-air events are held year-round. UNESCO World Heritage cliffs The white cliffs of Stevns Klint were designated as UNESCO World Heritage in 2014 - the only place on the planet where visitors can clearly see the sediment from the meteor strike that killed the dinosaurs. The cliffs of the neaerby island of Møn are event more dramatic. Here you find a hand-on visitor’s centre, GeoCenter Møn. Exotic wildlife in Scandinavia’s largest safari park Knuthenborg safari park features a wide range of animals from every corner of the world - in large open habitats. The park also has Denmark’s biggest jungle gym and fun activities.
