Elita Patmalniece A set of affectionate feminine characters on the cow’s body created using painting as a means of artistic expression confirms her archetypal link with the deeply symbolic role of the mother and protector of hearth and home. The 4 metres high and 7 metres long sculpture “Sailor Cow” on the Southern Pier is standing on its ship and welcoming the guests arriving in Ventspils by the sea, and greeting the visitors of the Southern Pier. 14 Karma or London Cow Garry A. Six exhibits from this Cow Parade in Ventspils are still remnant in the city. Marius Jonutis It is so, for the cow is painted in many cheerful colors. 22 Basketball cow Ms. Moo-Dunk Basketball Club “Ventspils” Basketball cow, sporty, ardent and enthusiastic. 3-rd ROUTE 23 Ancestor 19 (The Very First Cow and Calf) Ivars Drulle A 230-million-year-old cow from the Age of Dinosaurs, the beginner of the direct line of ancestry before evolving to the domestic animal we know today. 20 Oil Children from Ventspils Children’s Home and Igors Skoks The lovely, caressed oil cow, which was literally created by the touch of hands of everyone involved (the cow is covered with smaller and bigger palms). 24 Flower bed “Flower Cow” The 4 metres high and 7 metres long cow is located in Sarkanmuiža Meadow, in front of the shopping centre “Tobago”. Each year about 10 000 plants are planted in the sculpture. 25 Pomegranate Cow Museib Amirov (Azerbaijan) Pomegranate is one of the most universal symbols of Azerbaijan, presented by Museib in a bright oriental form on the cow’s rather Latvian body.
