For generations, NUK Disposable Teats have been the
teats used most widely in Germany and Austria – thanks
to its orthodontic NUK Shape. Equipped with the NUK Air
System they compensate for the air pressure in the bottle
and reduce the risk of swallowing of air and infant colic.
NUK offers the standard-neck teats both in natural rubber
latex and attractive TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) material. Thanks to the easy teat hole identification by means
of the screw ring colours, the teats ensure quick recognition and timesaving particularly in a hectic situation.

For specific demands
Newborns with cleft lip/jaw/palate nearly always face
problems with food intake: they find it difficult to produce
the negative pressure required to achieve sucking.
NUK has developed special teats based on the specific
anatomical conditions of babies with a cleft, taking presurgery treatments into consideration. Due to its softness
and flexibility, natural latex has proven to be the only material
suitable for these products. These special teats are
compatible with all standard-neck bottles.

A teat for infants with untreated cleft palate. With arched top to
close the open cleft of the palate whilst preventing nourishment from
reaching the respiratory tract. Enables nourishment to be mixed with
saliva which is important for good digestion. Teat feed hole needs to
be punctured individually according to the requirements and advice
of the doctor. Please clean and sterilise before use.

A teat for infants who have a unilateral cleft with implemented palate
plate (drinking plate) or – exceptionally – also bilateral clefts with
implemented palate plate.The NUK Cleft Lip Teat promotes the
sucking, chewing and milking action of the infant and, in this way,
helps infants achieve an almost totally natural sucking process. The
often experienced symptoms, such as choking, burping or even
vomiting, are reduced considerably. Pre-surgery orthodontic treat­
ments will not be affected. Please clean and sterilise before use.

NUK Disposable Bottles made from polypropylene (PP)
are ready to use and make optimal use of the daily hospital routine. They offer a maximum level of hygiene and
save time consuming procedures such as preparation

NUK MedicPro has offered teats that specifically take account of the anatomical conditions and meet the demands
of premature as well as low-weight babies – for optimal
nourishment through bottle feeding.
A novelty within the NUK MedicPro Range: the 45mm
disposable bottle. The millilitre-precise scale enables exact
measurement of even the smallest amount of colostrum
and breast milk. The precious liquid can be collected easily
by syringe and without loss from the dish-like bottle base
interior to ensure that every single drop is saved up for the
small babies.
Specially for premature babies, it is important to learn
correct sucking quickly – a prerequisite for food intake and
rapid, healthy growth. It is due to the teats and soothers
especially designed for prematures, that NUK has been
succeeding for about 20 years in making a considerable
contribution to supporting the development process of
premature babies.
Thanks to the orthodontic NUK Shape, the premature
soothers stimulate and train the natural sucking reflex of
small, weak or immature babies weighing less than 1750g.
This way, tube feeding often can be reduced or even be
curtailed. The premature soother remains an indispensable
product in many hospitals to this day.

As well as ensuring nourishment, breastfeeding is the best
way to satisfy a baby’s natural sucking desire. And soothers
which are designed based on nature’s example can assist
between the meals.
Accordingly, NUK Soothers are designed to simulate the
asymmetric shape of a mother’s breast during breastfeeding.
The soother’s softness and flexibility allows it to adjust to the
shape of the infant’s jaw whilst allowing sufficient space for
the tongue, and minimising pressure on the gums and teeth.
All this means that NUK Soothers not only soothe, but also
promote healthy oral development. Through active sucking,
the child trains the muscles for an optimal interplay between
jaw, palate, tongue and lips. This helps support breathing,
feeding and speech development whilst helping to prevent
misalignment of the teeth.
Some newborns are so small, that a size 1 soother can
be too large. This is why the NUK Genius Soother is now
available in a new size 0. This special size soother, has
been developed in collaboration with medical experts, and
is for small and low-weight babies aged 0-2 months.

The NUK X-Ray soother is a radiologic aid helping diagnosis of diseases and malformations of the gullet. It has
been especially developed to facilitate administration
of contrast media, thus enabling x-ray examination with
babies and infants.
The special soother enables exact dosing of the contrast
media for injection. Baby’s natural urge to suck ensures
that the contrast media goes via the tube and soother
into the mouth.
