the magic through an interactive reception and into the
main event to experience an immersive feast for the senses.

performance that neither starts nor ends but rather is living all
around. Sit back and enjoy our menu, tailored for the whole
family, as wonder comes to life with every bite. Set off on a
journey between courses with one of our Wonder Ambassadors
to do a craft or play a game while mom and dad sip wine. Be
inspired, as 12-year-old Kindraiser Hannah Alper and Breakfast
Television’s Jennifer Valentyne guides you through an event
program that will leave you full of wonder. Live musical acts
and daring performances along with an incredible live auction
will leave you wanting more. But fear not, there is a final act in
this Wonder Ball… experience wonder in Technicolor as we go
from ball to blast off at the after party and dance.
And, when you wake up in the morning, your imagination still
reeling, make sure to mark your calendars and send your dress
to the cleaners so we can do it all over again next year!

More than 4,000 babies are born at Sunnybrook
Health Sciences Centre every year. We deliver the
largest number of premature babies in the country,
and our neonatologists provide care to the smallest
and sickest infants — 20% of Ontario’s babies weighing
less than three pounds are cared for in Sunnybrook’s
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
ALL IN THE FAMILY
Unlike many other NICUs that feature open-bay
care, Sunnybrook’s NICU contains 48 private rooms,
where families can bond and care for their babies
24/7. Other NICUs around the world are now using our
research findings to inform the design of their units.
THE HEALING POWER OF TOUCH
Sunnybrook is a pioneer in “kangaroo care” — holding
premature babies skin-to-skin to help promote brain
growth. Skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth
helps babies regulate their temperature and glucose
levels. It also promotes bonding and babies often
initiate breast feeding from that position.
HELPING THE EARLIEST, TINIEST SURVIVE
Sunnybrook is a Canadian leader in the care of
micro preemies — babies born at the earliest margins
of survival, before 26 weeks’ gestation. With about
70 newborns meeting this criteria every year, our
team cares for one of the largest populations of
these infants in North America. We are part of an
international network dedicated to researching,
finding and sharing best practices.
