MANUAL FOR GAMETEC APP
OVERVIEW
The GameTec app allows you to set up Player data with player tendencies for your team and opposing teams.
Coaching staff can set up Game Strategies for every game played. A list of Plays and Play Tactics can be set up and
the app allows coaching staff to apply these Plays to each Game Plan for each game played. Coaches can define
their player line-ups including Starting, Power Play and Penalty Kill line-ups.
All this data can be kept in one place on your sharepoint site and can be accessed by all members within your
organization. Players can access and review Game Plans at any time. The app will keep a history of player and
game plan data from current as well as past seasons.
PRE-REQUISITES
This add-in requires Sharepoint 2013 or later.
Before beginning the installation be sure you are logged in as an administrator to the sharepoint site where you
would like the app to be installed.
INSTALLATION
Before beginning the installation be sure you are logged in as an administrator to the sharepoint site where you
would like the app to be installed.

Log into sharepoint site where you want to install the GameTec Add-in.
Go to Site Contents and click on the Add an App tile.
Click on Sharepoint Store.
In the search bar at the top type in GameTec.
Click on the GameTec app tile.
Follow the instruction to install the GameTec app and when prompted to trust GameTec app, click the
Trust it button.
After installation of the app, a GameTec tile will appear in the site contents of the site collection.

GAMETEC SETUP
Go into the GameTec app by clicking on the GameTec tile on the site contents page of the site collection of your
Sharepoint site. To start using the GameTec app, some team information must be entered.

Click Team link on top menu.
One team record will be displayed called “Your Team Name”. Click the Edit button on that record.
Enter your team name, city and team record. Click Save.
Next click on Admin link on top menu then click on App Configuration on dropdown menu.
Click Home Team field and select your team name.
Enter the Current Season.
Click Save.
At this point, the app is ready to use. You can enter team, player, play tactics, game strategies and set up
a Game Plan.
TEAM AND GAME STRATEGY DATA
Enter Team and Game Strategy data for your team and all your opposing teams for the current season.
To add new teams:

Navigate to the Team page by clicking on Team on menu bar.
Click on Add New Team link at bottom of page.
Enter team name, city and team record information.
Click Save.
Do this for any teams you want to create a Team Profile and Game Plan report.
Game Strategy information can be added for each team (see figure 1). Game Strategies are strategy points that
each team uses to win the game. This information can be set up for your team and opposing teams. This
information is used when generating a Team Profile (see figure 2).
To add/edit game strategy information:

Navigate to the Team page by clicking on Team on the menu bar.
Click Edit link on the Team you want to add/edit Game Strategies. This will take you to the Edit Team
page. Here you can change team name, city and team record (see figure 1).
Game Strategies are listed under the Team information at the bottom of this page. You can add/edit
strategies here (see figure 1).
To add a Game Strategy click Add New Strategy under Game Strategy heading. This will take you to the
New Game Strategy page where you can add a new Game Strategy for this team.

Enter a Strategy title and details. Click Save.
To edit a Game Strategy, click Edit on the strategy you want to change. This will take you to the Edit
Game Strategy page where you can make changes to the Game Strategy and click Save.
To delete a strategy click the Delete link.

PLAYER DATA
Enter Player and Player Tendency data for your team players and all your opposing team players for the current
season (see figure 3). Player Tendency data is used when generating a Team Profile report (see figure 2).
To add new players:

Navigate to the Team page by clicking on Team on menu bar.
Click on PlayersView link for the team you want to add players for. This will take you to the Players By
Team Name page. This page displays a list of players for one team.
To add a new player to this team click on Add a new Player to this Team link at the top of the page.
Enter player data including player name, position, jersey number, birthdate, team name, shoots (right or
left), season, and player tendencies.
Click Save.
Add players for any team you want to create a Team Profile and Game Plan report.

PLAY TACTICS DATA
Play List data consists of your Play Tactics that you and your team use to win the game. The Play Tactics you enter
are used on the Game Plan page. Play tactics that the opposing team will use to win the game can be entered
here. Coaching staff can apply these Play Tactics when designing the Game Plan report.
To add Play Tactics:

Navigate to the Play List page by clicking on Play List on menu bar.
Click on Add New Play link at top of page.
Enter play title, category, home / opponent, season and play tactic information.
Click Save.
Add all play tactics you and your team use during a game.
Add play tactics that the opposing team will use during a game.

GAME PLAN PAGE
The Game Plan page can be used by the Coaching staff to apply Play Tactics to the game (see figure 5). Coaches
can define their player line-ups including Starting, Power Play and Penalty Kill line-ups. A Game Plan can be set up
for each game and can be shared and accessed by all members within your organization. Team members can
review the Game Plan before each game is played.
To add a Game Plan:

Navigate to Game Plan page by clicking on Game Plan on menu bar.
This takes you to the Game Plan Directory page. Click on Add Game Plan.
Enter your team name, opponents team name, game date, game number and season.
Click Save.
This takes you back to the Game Plan Directory page. Click on Edit for the Game Plan you want to change.
Here you can enter your start of game line-up, power play line-up and penalty kill line-up. The drop
downs will contain your team player names that were entered by you on the Players page.
7. The Play Tactics that were entered on Play Tactics page can be applied to the Game Plan here. The lower
half of the Game Plan page is separated into two sections. The left side shows Play Tactics the opposing
team will use and the right side shows Play Tactics that your team will use for each situation.
8. Apply Play Tactics by clicking on the drop down for each situation and selecting the play. The play tactic is
displayed in a labeled text box.
9. Click Save to save Game Plan.
10. You can use print function in your browser to print the Game Plan.

TEAM PROFILE PAGE
The team profile page compiles a list of players and their tactics, with their name, jersey number, shoots
(left,right), position, and the team strategy with the team record at the bottom (see figure 6).
To view the Team Profile report:

Navigate to the Team Profile page by clicking on Team on top menu.
Click on TeamProfile on the team record you want to view.
This will take you to the Team Profile page.

PLAYERS PAGE
The Players page lists all players for all the teams you have entered (see figure 7). You can limit the search by
entering player name or season at the top of the page.
There is no add feature on this page. To add players you must go to the Team page first and select the team you
want to add players to. You can edit player records on this page by clicking Edit on the player record you would
like to change. To view all players for one team select a player that plays for the team you want to view and click
View by Team link.
