New York City Ballet Co-Founder George Balanchine had a vision
for a company that produced and performed work made in and for
its time. As such, one of the hallmarks of NYCB has always been new
work. At this year’s event, attendees will be treated to an exclusive
behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the Company and
the creation of a ballet. Illustrated through video clips, performance
demonstrations, and a lively panel discussion, the onstage program
will give insight into the choreographic process—the idea and its
realization from rehearsal studio to stage.
On the occasion of the 2016 Annual Luncheon, New York City Ballet
would like to recognize this year’s Janice Levin Dancer, Joseph Gordon.
