premiere of Peter Martins’ staging of August
Bournonville’s La Sylphide. Martins has long dreamed
of adding this Danish classic, one of the world’s

oldest surviving Romantic ballets, to the Company’s
Vincent Brun, Vacheron Constantin
repertoire. The gala program will also feature the return
of Bournonville Divertissements, a joyful celebration
of some of Bournonville’s most popular works and a
thrilling combination of his signature style and NYCB’s
unparalleled speed and musicality.
