The main classroom is located in Hillsborough with satellite locations in surrounding libraries and other community locations. The new effort to provide services in the Peterborough area will allow those seeking instructional services for GED (general educational development) preparation, free of charge, a much more realistic and attainable goal. People from Peterborough, Temple, Francestown, Greenfield, New Ipswich and Antrim/Bennington area, now have choice to attend classes in Peterborough or Hillsborough. Classes have begun at the Riverview Apartments one night per week. Additional instruction times and locations are now being considered. Judy Fournier, LIFT Program Director states that volunteers are occasionally matched with students for one-on-one support. However, the extensive time and effort managing volunteer recruitment and on-going direction has limited this structure. Although volunteers are still very much welcome, with the new collaboration, consistent programming is possible. If interested in attending classes or to find out about volunteer opportunities, please contact Judy Fournier, Program Director at (603) 464-5285.
