INTRODUCTION This document details step by step what must be done to upgrade your Ipanema Solution from a Salsa v7.1 or 8.1 to the v9.0 version in VF4 (VistaFoundation components update if lower than 4.3 out of the scope of this document). The upgrade will generate holes in the reporting, but services activated on the ip|engines (optimization, acceleration, compression) will remain active. For a full list of changes and new features, please refer to the Salsa v9.0 release note. The Ipanema System v9.0 user manual explains how to use the new features. 2. UPGRADE SALSA TO THE 9.0 VERSION 2.1.Prerequisites We advise you to backup your ip|boss configuration and Infovista databases before beginning the upgrade: How to backup and restore Salsa 7.1 or 8.1: - https://support.ipanematech.com/kb/25/116 https://support.ipanematech.com/kb/25/963 - How to backup and restore ip|reporter : https://support.ipanematech.com/kb/25/250 You will need to prepare the following files to perform the upgrade : - Extract / Copy the “ipboss v9.0 windows.zip” file on your ipboss server. - Extract / Copy the “ipreporter v9.0.zip” file on both ipboss and ipreporter servers (if they are hosted on two distinct servers). - Extract / Copy the “ipreporter-web v9.0.zip” on your VistaPortal server. - With SALSA 9.0.1, you need VistaPortal v4.4 and last hotfix. UPDATING INFOVISTA 3.1.Infovista server upgrade Warning – If you upgraded an existing Salsa v7.1 or v8.1 installation and you are currently running Infovista v4.2, it must be updated to v4.3. Ask Ipanema support team to provide you a new Infovista License, with the MAC address of the new Windows 2008 server. You will then be able to upgrade your Infovista installation to 4.3. 3.2.Infovista libraries upgrade There are two ways to install the Ipanema VistaViews: automatically, using ipreporter_setup.exe executable file, or manually, using IVreport (InfoVista rich client). The manual procedure is only helpful to perform a remote installation. Otherwise, follow the automatic procedure. 3.2.1. – Automatic installation (using ipreporter_setup) Launch ipreporter_setup.exe. This setup must be run on both ip|boss and ip|reporter servers. If these components are hosted on separate servers, the setup must be launched on both. Installation remains the same as for the VistaMart, except for step 3, the “ip|boss Server” box is checked by default. Verify that the ip|boss installation directory is correct then click “Next”. The installation proceeds. 3.2.2. – Manual installation (using IVreport) This procedure should not be required, normally. It is only applicable in VF0 mode. Start IVreport (InfoVista rich client). Select all libraries located in the directory “IVL” (InfoVista Libraries) on ip|reporter DVD-ROM. The installer window will list the new libraries to be updated listed in bold as well as the new version number : Select all and click on the Install button. Once installation completes, the version installed on server will match the version of the library in the install folder : Purge the Trash Libraries and close IVreport.
