A Note from the Office
Whew!! Although it’s a fun month, I think we are ALL glad February is over!  Snow, ice,
unheard-of artic temperatures, pictures, Book Fairs, Valentine’s...goodness gracious, were we
busy!! Thankfully, March is usually slightly calmer—both on the weather front and on the “busyness” front—so let’s take this month to sit back, relax, and watch our amazing Savior usher in His
beautiful Spring!! Despite the relative calm, we do have a few things going on in March. First,
those adorable pictures Crawford Photography took of your children will need to be returned to
the Office by the printed deadline so we can mail them off and get them back quickly! They are
always precious, and we enjoy ohh-ing and ahh-ing over them every single time! Please remember:
proof envelope must be returned even if you are not ordering. We will let you know when
Thursday’s missed pictures will be rescheduled as soon as it’s determined. Second, please return
your registration packets were as soon as possible! Remember your selection for payment of the
$75 re-enrollment fee, and remit as planned. If you have any questions, you can always come chat
with us!
It seems very fitting in this month of blossoming new life to announce that we seem to be
in the midst of yet another baby boom!! Four of our staff members and at least seven of our
families are expecting little ones or have had a new addition to the family within the last month!
WOW!! Congratulations to you all!! There is one sad downside to all the merriment—we will have
to say goodbye to our precious Mrs. Amanda when she has her little girl in April. Please help us
love on her these last six weeks or so, and let her know how much you appreciate her!!
Finally, we have a few staffing changes to make you aware of this month. Usually we save
such staffing “switches” for the new school year, but as several of our staff have had changes in
their personal or family lives lately, we are making these switches now. Our cook, Mrs. Selena,
has had to resign due to medical concerns, and Mrs. Tessa has had the opportunity for which she
has waited a year-and-a-half to help a family friend open a new business. We are covering both
these wonderful ladies in prayer as they move to the next chapter of their lives, and we hope you
will do the same! To fill these voids and to remedy the personal issues mentioned above, Mrs.
Tanya and Mrs. Barbie will be changing positions as well. Any of you who have had the pleasure of
enjoying Mrs. Tanya’s baked treats know she has a gift for cooking. We will put that gift to good
use as Mrs. Tanya becomes our new cook. Mrs. Barbie will move from her spot in the Fireflies to

replace Mrs. Tanya in the Caterpillars, and she is looking forward to loving on itty-bitty ones again! Replacing
Mrs. Barbie will be a brand new member of our family, Mrs. Haley. Mrs. Haley is a double-major graduate of
Meredith College, and has had the honor of working with that institution’s well-known Autism Program. Her
experience there will bring to our Center a wealth of “outside the box” ideas that are proven to help ALL
children, and we are extremely excited to welcome her to our family! Mrs. Tessa’s replacement has not been
solidified as of yet, but we are following the Lord’s leading, and are confident He will provide soon!!
As we prepare to celebrate the awesomeness that is Easter, please read the lyrics to the song “Oh,
Glorious Day” below (and perhaps Google the song so you can hear it if you have not had the pleasure of doing so
before now). I know we will talk about it next month as well, but Jesus did such an amazing thing for us, I don’t
think we can stress it enough if it was all we did for our entire lives!! If you don’t already know how much He
loves you, how much He sacrificed for you, and how much He desires a real relationship with you, talk with any
staff member in this building—we are happy to share with you! We love you so much!!
Rejoicing in our Savior’s Resurrection,
Mrs. Lori, Miss Debra, and Mrs. Amanda
One day they led Him up Calvary's mountain
One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me.
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose, over death He had conquered
Now He's ascended, my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him
From rising again!
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He's coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day!
Living, He loved me
Dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He's coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day!

Spring is just around the corner and snow is a fleeting thought now. I’m sad I wasn’t able to see the
beautiful snowflakes falling down, but I’m moving on and getting excited about the flowers and warm breezes!
Every season has its beauty, and we can thank the Lord for making all things wonderful and beautiful. “I will
bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.”
Asher celebrates his birthday this month and says goodbye to us as he moves over with his long-lost
friends, Marlee and Noah. The three musketeers will be back together again! Paislee and McKenna are our
newest little friends and we welcome them and their families to our Caterpillar class.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, happy Spring, and happy Daylight Savings Time to everyone!
In His Service,
Mrs. Bernice, Mrs. Barbie, and Miss Ashley

Well, February has come and gone, and now March is here. I can hardly believe the first day of spring
is at the end of the month! This month, we will focus on the last three letters of the alphabet and review each
letter. Our color this month will be yellow. Our Bible lesson will be on how God helps us be friends with
others, focusing on the Bible character Paul. The Bible verse will carry over from February: “A friend loves at
all times.” Proverbs 17:17.

happy day.
“Smile” by Jessica Dillinger
If you’re feeling down, turn your frown upside down. Put a smile on your face; take the world in your
embrace. Ask for a little help from the man up above. And remember you have your best friend’s love.

We plan to start this month learning about Community Helpers. We will having Pastor Ed to do
Chapel for us on March 2nd. We also will have a firefighter, a mailman, and a nurse or doctor. We will be
ending the week with a surprise visit from a K-9 police dog. We are looking forward to having a great week.
We would like to ask each child to please bring in one egg carton by March 13th. These will be used
for an Easter project. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child’s lives. We love them all and
enjoy each day we have with them.

Happy Birthday to Tristein and Layla!
The newness of life is this month’s theme as we anticipate the first day of Spring on March 20 th and
are reminded of the new life we have in Christ when we respond to His love and choose to come into God’s
family. We kick off the month with Community Helpers week, where we have planned visits from friends in
the community. When the local postmaster visits, children will be mailing letters to themselves. Plan to
dress your child in the color green on “Green Day”, Tuesday, March 17th. Finally, beginning the last week of
March, we are excited to explore the foundational Bible truths of our Christian faith.
Our Bible verses are, “Every child is known by his doings” (Proverbs 20:11), and “Be ye kind one to
another” (Ephesians 4:32).
Bible stories in March include: Ten Lepers (Luke 17:11-19), The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), The
Lost Lamb (Matthew 18:12-14, Luke 15:4-7), The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32), Jesus Loves the Children
(Matthew 19:13-15, Mark 10:13-16, Luke 18:15-17), The Rich, Young Ruler (Matthew 19:16-22, Mark 10:17-22,
Luke 18:18-30), Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10), Friends at Bethany (Mark 14:3-9, John 12:1-8), and The Triumphal
Entry (Matthew 21:1-9, Mark 11:1-10, Luke 19:29-38, John 12:12-15).
March songs are “He is King”, “The B-I-B-L-E”, and “Zacchaeus”.
Alphabet names and sounds of Qq (Quentin Quail), Rr (Rusty Rooster), and Ss (Seabreeze Seal) are
introduced. Corresponding letters for names of God are Quiet Jesus, Rock, and Savior. In learning about
numbers, we are counting 1-25 with recognition/concepts of 1 - 13.
Thanks for sharing your children with us!
Serving Him,
Mrs. Laurel, Mrs. Haley, Miss Nikki

You’ve heard the saying…March comes in like a lion? We are doing just that—heading into March with a
bang. We are going to start our month off with Community Helpers week. The first week we are going to have
our very own Pastor Rose come in and conduct our Chapel time. We will also have a firefighter, a mailman, a
nurse or doctor, and then end our week with a surprise visitor—a K-9 police dog. Our Bible accounts and verses
for the month of March are as follows:
 Week 1 – The Little Lost Lamb & the Prodigal Son (I John 4:19 and Proverbs 20:11)
 Week 2 – Jesus Loves the Children and The Rich Young Ruler (Ephesians 4:32)
 Week 3 – Zacchaeus and Friends of Bethany (John 14:6)
 Week 4 – Triumphal Entry and The Last Supper (Review verses)
We will be continuing with our numbers 12, 13 and 14, and our letters for the month will be Q, R, and S.
Our Theme for the month of March is “Making All Things New.”
Happy Spring!!

It’s hard to believe that Spring is almost here. Spring is a time for planning, and we find ourselves
planning for the Fall. Our little ones will be starting school soon! We find that many of our friends are
excited about kindergarten in the Fall! Please make sure you have enrolled your child for school. We know
Wake County started Kindergarten registration in January. Our class has started to prepare for the
Graduation service. We are learning different songs and scriptures. You may hear your child coming home
singing different songs and quoting scriptures. This month we are going to have International Day. We will
choose a couple of countries from the curriculum to learn about. Please look for more information about that
day. Some of the countries in our studies include Mexico, Africa, Israel, and China.

WELCOME SPRING!
Academic Focus
Letter: Q and review
Numbers: Counting to 100
Biblical Accounts: Review Miracles of Jesus, Parables Jesus Taught, and Easter Stories
The countdown to graduation is upon us. Can you believe it?! The date for graduation is Friday, May
29 , so mark it on your calendar. More details to come.
Easter will be earlier this year so we have some information for you regarding the Easter egg hunt
and class party. The hunt and the party will be on Thursday, April 2nd. The hunt will be in the morning and
the party will be at 2:30 in the afternoon in our classroom. There will be a sign-up sheet to bring goodies so
be on the lookout. There are some items we will need from you by Monday, March 23rd. They are as follows:
* 1 dozen eggs filled with nut-free candy for the egg hunt
* 1 egg carton with 1 dozen plastic eggs that open and fit when lid is closed
Easter is much more than egg hunts and candy. We celebrate Easter
because of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Jesus gave
His life that we might have a new life in Him. Rebirth! "Therefore if anyone
is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new
things have come." 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB). I pray if you do not know
Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, that He will be who you hunt this Easter.
Love in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Gold represents the golden streets and glory of heaven, where we will spend eternity with Christ if
we believe in Him. God wants everyone to go to heaven. In the Bible it says: “Be faithful, even to
the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Revelations 2:10
But we can’t get to heaven because of our sin, represented by this Black color, which separates us
from God. In the Bible it says: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
Red is for the Blood of Jesus, shed on the cross for us.
In the Bible it says: “...while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8b
When we ask Jesus to forgive our sins and come into our hearts, our sins are washed away.
We sometimes say we are now White as snow.
In the Bible it says: "...the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin."
1 John 1:7b
Blue represents baptism, being immersed in water to show our "death" and "resurrection" in Christ.
Baptism does not save you, but we do it to follow Jesus’ example. In the Bible it says: "Then Jesus
came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John."
Matthew 3:13
Green is for all growing things. It represents growth as we study God's Word and become mature
Christians. We can grow in the Lord by reading our Bible, praying, and attending church services.
In the Bible it says: "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
