Intermediate and advanced- level players will learn advanced tactics and strategies of the game. All players will learn and enjoy the social aspect of badminton. Transition to Independent Living and Employment-Level 1 $1,000 This is the first course offered in the Life College Transition to Independent Living and Employment curriculum. It focuses on the Business SoftSkills required to acquire and maintain gainful employment (listening, adaptability, teamwork, judgment, integrity, work ethic, communications, positive demeanor, etc.). The curriculum is instructor-delivered with comprehensive materials including video, print materials, and computer-based certification. This combination promotes lively discussion. Our own biorhythms can be tracked for how they affect our health, interactions with others and career. This course will be the first of a series designed to help students reach their highest level math possible with Certificates of Achievement awarded for use on resumes and interviews. It is designed to inform students about their sexuality and how to be successful in this part of their lives. The course explores interpersonal skills required for everyday living and developing good friendships and relationships. It includes building self-esteem, demonstrating the knowledge of appropriate public displays of affection, appropriate versus inappropriate flirting, and purposes and stages of dating. Dating excursions along with financial obligations of dating will be discussed, as well as identifying the stages of dating, how not to get into trouble on a date, and the meaning of abstinence. A curriculum is used that is instructor-delivered and enriched by videos. Role playing allows each student to develop skills necessary to succeed in this realm of their lives. In addition, students will explore appropriate general behaviors when making friends and developing relationships.
