Welcome, Mrs. Pando! - Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls
Re-Echoings Newsletter for the Alumnae & Friends of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls SUMMER 2016 Welcome, Mrs. Pando! It has been a whirlwind of activity since I was appointed President in April and I’m happy to say that I have been wrapped in warm welcomes ever since. St. Hubert truly is a very special place and our wonderful students are at the center of it all. My previous jobs with the Miraculous Medal Shrine and World Meeting of Families have uniquely prepared me to step into my new role as President. My devotions are to my faith and family. At the Miraculous Medal Shrine, I found a deep faith in Mary Immaculate and was able to use my professional talents to further that faith for myself and others which was immensely rewarding. Working for the World Meeting of Families and bringing the Holy Father to Philadelphia was such an honor and I hope to leverage all of the contacts I made during the Papal visit to sustain and grow St. Hubert. My husband of 27 years, Jim, and my two beautiful teenage girls, Cyndi and Jenna, are my greatest joy. I hope that my most important role of wife and mother bring something extra special to my new leadership position at St. Hubert. I feel as though each girl who walks our halls is like a daughter to me and I find myself thinking "what would I want for her here in her education and spiritual life?" The new school year will be an exciting one as we celebrate our 75th anniversary! At our Graduation for the Class of 2016, Archbishop Chaput officially kicked off the festivities by blessing our special 75th anniversary logo (pictured in the top left corner above). In our diamond year we will be "Bringing Forth Brilliance" with the four facets of our beloved school – scholastics, sisterhood, service and spirituality – all of which is beautifully commemorated in our anniversary logo. During the celebration year, we will walk together through the storied and strong history of the last 75 years with such activities and events as special Masses, prayer services, school assemblies, regional reunions and a Gala on November 18th (see page 3). I look forward to meeting you and celebrating 75 historic and wonderful years of St. Hubert. I always enjoy hearing from alumnae and friends, so please feel free to contact me as your input is so important to the future of our great school. Blessings, Lizanne Magarity Pando President Golden Girls Congratulations to the Class of 1966!
