This newsletter is one of many means of communication we use to provide information. It is our goal to send a newsletter in January, March and May. The other sources
of communication are: St. Huberts’ website www.huberts.org, School Reach, SMART tuition and Grade Connect. Each one of these vehicles will be used to their fullest intent.
The website provides a variety of links. Daily announcements are posted on the website,
athletic events and schedules are posted and the handbook is also a resource for information on the website. School Reach is used for email, texting and voicemail. Announcements have been the primary reason for the use of School Reach these past two
months. During the winter months School Reach will be used to notify you of a late arrival or school closing due to weather. Both the voice and texting options will be used for
those notifications. SMART tuition is your resource for checking your tuition and fee balances. You are able to view your daughter’s grades and assignments on Grade Connect.
Stay current with all the means of communication. We do not want any parent to say “I
did not know”.
Throughout this newsletter is a recap of what has occurred and a preview of upcoming events. Please take note of the letter involving iPad insurance. This is the route
we needed to access because of the volume of iPads in the building. As of this date, the
Pennsylvania State Budget has not been passed. We are dependent upon State monies to
buy the freshmen class their iPads. All the students have written a letter to Governor
Wolf about the need for the budget to be approved.
It is my hope that I will be able to inform you of the appointment of a new President of Saint Huberts Catholic High School for Girls in the very near future. All the
teachers and administrators have worked with me to provide all that is needed for St.
Huberts to run effectively and efficiently. Thank you for your support in making this
school year the best it can be! Every morning I end the daily prayer with: “What you do
matters.” and “Make yourself proud.” Let us work together in building this pride.

Progress Reports: Progress Reports will be posted to GradeConnect on Friday, 10/23. Please be
sure to check your daughter's progress regularly using that site. If you have not yet created a
parent account for GradeConnect, please go to www.huberts.org/gradeconnect for instructions.
First Quarter: The first quarter ends on November 13th. Report cards for the first quarter are
given out in homeroom the week of November 16th. Report cards are only mailed home at the
end of the semester and the end of the year.
ID Cards: All students were provided with an ID card and a proximity card which allows them
access to the building. Both cards are to be kept in the plastic holder and worn around neck
with the St. Hubert lanyard. If your daughter loses either card, they are $10 each to replace. If
the cards are lost or misplaced, please inform the Academics Affairs Office immediately so that
the proximity card can be deactivated.

Welcome back, Bambies! September and October have been very busy months at St. Hubert. As you
can see through the pages of our Newsletter, we will be busy into the coming year. Some of the highlights this year have been our Student Council Installation, National Honor Society Induction and the
Bambie Ambassador Pinning Ceremony. We are proud of the leadership role many girls have taken at St.
Hubert and know they are preparing well for their future.
A memorable event for all of our Catholic schools and parishes was the visit of Pope Francis to Philadelphia and the World Meeting of Families. St. Hubert Bambies were well represented during the World
Meeting of Families as our Bell Choir played in the opening ceremonies and a group of volunteers participated in the Day of Service at the Convention Center. Senior, Lilli Resto, was chosen to address the attendees on behalf of the Archdiocesan High School volunteers.
We were treated to a visit by the University of Dayton’s Orchestra in early October. Members of the St.
Hubert orchestra joined them for a number of songs including a beautiful rendition of our Alma Mater.
We are certainly looking forward to hosting the All-Catholic Orchestra Festival in March.
Our fall semester fundraiser is now under way. For more tickets for our Ten-Week-Club raffle, please

Seniors—At this point, approximately 10% of you have applied to a college next year. That is a
good number but you can do better! Keep the applications coming in and keep the questions
coming in as well! Also, please keep in mind dates for any early action applications you may be
doing. Many of the dates are in November or December. Stay on top of deadlines!
Coming soon you will be emailed a scholarship log. Utilize every opportunity for money that
you can. An excellent scholarship website to register at is www.fastweb.com. This is a FREE
website and, once you register and complete a profile, you will be emailed scholarships that
you may possibly qualify for.
Use any days off as opportunities to visit colleges. Visiting a school is the only way you will truly know if it is a right fit for you, ESPECIALLY if you plan on living on campus.
If at any time you have any questions pertaining to Naviance, the Common Application, or colleges, don’t hesitate to come down to the guidance office or email any of the counselors. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR HUBERT’S EMAIL!
Juniors-- Please make sure you are regularly accessing your Hubert’s email and make sure you
are familiar with Naviance. If you haven’t done so already, start pulling together your resume
on Naviance. This way, when next year is here, you will already have it done and will just need
to add senior year activities. Plus, teachers will be able to start writing letters of recommendation for you based on your resume. Look at the career interest inventories on Naviance and
take them. These may help you in deciding what to possibly major in when you apply to college.
Also, now is the time to start gathering information from various colleges. Before you know it,
September 2016 will be here and it will be time to apply. If you gather your information now,
you can have it organized and ready to go for next September! Also, keep on top of your classes. Junior year is an extremely important year and one that many universities keep a close
eye on. Falling behind now will only put you at a tremendous disadvantage.
Sophomores—If freshman year wasn’t your best year, don’t worry! This year is the year to pick
yourself up, work hard, and boost those grades. If you haven’t already done so, look into some
clubs or activities you can join in school. Not only do they look good for colleges, but you may
meet some lifelong friends!
Freshmen—Get familiar with your Hubert’s email account because it will become your best
friend throughout your four years! In this digital age, emails are always being sent, whether by
the guidance office, teachers, or administrators, and failure to check your email may mean you
miss out on something important. Look into joining a club or partaking in an activity! Senior
year probably seems far away, but it will be here before you know it, and you definitely want
to be able to fill in the “Activities” portion of a college application.
Parents—Don’t hesitate to call the guidance office with any questions. Sister Belle, Sister Meg,
and Mrs. Cunningham are here to help you!

Campus Ministry
We hit the ground running this year with lots of great things. There is a new Chapel
near the school cafeteria dedicated to Our Lady of the Angels. It gives the students a place to
pray and every Friday we are saying a Novena to Our Lady. October is Respect for Life month.
We had a special Mass on the Feast of the Guardian Angels and a Community Baby Shower to
collect new and gently used baby items for a local Catholic Social Service Center. We also sold
Tiny Saint charms and bracelets to raise money for the Blessed Margaret of Costello Home for
Crisis Pregnancies. We had sign-ups for our Senior Kairos Retreats. If anyone would like to
sponsor a student to go on the retreat, please contact Father Check.
Fall Musical
A Celebration of Our Times is a musical revue that extends through the seven decades
that St. Hubert High School has been open. What makes this compilation so unique and special
is the meaning that these songs have for the students, past and present. These songs were the
hits of the times and are intended to bring you back to memories of your adolescence. Our
extremely talented St. Hubert, Father Judge, Roman Catholic and Holy Ghost Prep students
are ecstatic to be paying musical tribute to artists ranging from Frank Sinatra to Taylor Swift.
In addition to some wonderful vocal talent, there is a wide array of dance numbers with which
you will be compelled to tap your feet. Please come to support these students on November
13, 14 or 15. Pre-order tickets by contacting [email protected]. Pre-ordered tickets
are $8.00 for adults/$4 for students will ID or senior citizens. Tickets at the door are $10 for
adults/$5 for students with ID or senior citizens. ALL SAINT HUBERT STUDENTS RECEIVE A
TICKET THROUGH THEIR ACTIVITY FEE. We hope to see you there.
Fall Sports
The fall sports season is winding down. Morgan Kodluk became the first golfer in St.
Hubert history to be named First Team All-Catholic. We are excited about this young golf
team and are anticipating amazing things in the future. Our soccer and volleyball teams
made the playoffs this year but, unfortunately, tennis and field hockey just missed out on a
playoff spot. Cross country has been preparing for Catholic league and districts; two of our
top three runners this year are freshmen. As always, cheerleading has been working hard to
prepare for Nationals. They make us proud every year. All Catholic votes for fall sports are
now being cast and we are sure to be well represented. Winter sports season is less than a
month away and we are sure to have exciting news to share about these amazing Bambies.

The annual bus trip to the Christmas Spectacular at
Radio City sponsored by the Faculty Scholarship
Committee is going to be on Thursday, December 3,
2015. The bus will leave St. Hubert at 2:00 pm and
we will see the 5 pm show. There will be time after the show to get a bite to eat, to shop or to just
see the Christmas sights in New York City. We will
return to SH around 11:00-11:30 pm. The cost of
the show ticket and bus is $87. To reserve your

SAT Course
St. Hubert will once again offer the after-school SAT
course in the second semester. The classes will meet
twice a week until the October test. The fee of $250
includes a copy of the official College Board textbook
and all handouts. Freshmen and sophomores who enroll in the course will receive all future courses free.

Technology News
Dear Parents/Guardians,
St. Hubert will no longer be offering iPad insurance or handling the repair of the iPads from this
date forward. In addition, any iPads submitted for repair up until this point in school year will
be charged on the student’s tuition account unless you purchased the school’s insurance for the
2014-2015 school year. The iPads are the responsibility of the students and need to be functioning properly at all times.
In an effort to better support your daughters’ iPads, we have teamed up with GoCare to provide discounted insurance. GoCare has created an online portal to sign up for the insurance.
The portal will open on November 1, 2015. Purchases made 30 days after the portal opens will
require photos of the device(s) to activate coverage. iPads must be 100% functional and undamaged in order to be eligible for insurance coverage. Please see attached sheet for insurance
pricing.
Formerly, students were able to purchase yearly insurance for $55 a year, for a total of $220
over four years. If the iPad was damaged without insurance in place, the student was responsible for the full cost of the repair. This could have cost anywhere from $175-$225 per incident,
or $400 if it was necessary to replace the iPad
If you opt not to insure the iPad, then you will assume all repair costs and have to use an Apple
Authorized Repair Shop such as MTG http://www.247tech.com/ They are located at: 520 State
Road Bensalem, PA 19020 (215)-247-8324. In the event that the iPad is not repairable, you will
need to provide a replacement iPad for your daughter to use. St. Hubert may have extras for
sale at Apple’s education discounted price, depending on inventory.
