About Transport Group Theatre Company Jack Cummings III, Artistic Director Lori Fineman, Executive Director Transport Group is a non-profit, off-Broadway theatre company in New York City that stages new works and re-imagines revivals by American writers. Our visually progressive productions of emotionally classic stories explore the challenges of relationships and identity in modern America. In 2007 Transport Group received a Drama Desk Award recognizing our “breadth of vision and presentation of challenging productions,” as well as a Village Voice OBIE award for excellence in the theatre. LIZ MIKEL (Heterai) is elated to be taking this journey with Dan, Doug and Lewis again. She previously played the role of Heteria in the world premiere of Give It Up!, at the Dallas Theater Center, where she is a Resident Acting Company member. She has been a staple in Dallas' theater and music scenes for the past 20 years. In addition to performing locally and regionally, Ms. Mikel has toured both nationally and internationally to rave reviews. New York performances include: Blind Lemon Blues at Summer Stage and Eve Ensler's OPC at The Daryl Roth Theatre. As a vocalist, she has opened for Erykah Badu, Branford Marsalis, Issac Hayes, Gennifer Flowers and Joan Rivers. Ms. Mikel played Corinna Williams for 3 seasons on NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” and Maggie, Ty's landlady on LOGO's, “Sordid Lives The Series.” Liz was Ruthie Jenkins in the blockbuster comedy, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and will be appearing in the WWE movie, Bending The Rules, being released later this year. PATTI MURIN (Lysistrata Jones) Patti is absolutely thrilled to step back into the cheerleading uniform after originating this role at the Dallas Theatre Center last year! She just returned from playing the title role in Emma at the Old Globe Theatre, written by Paul Gordon. Favorite credits include Xanadu on Broadway (Euterpe/Kira u/s), Waverly in Next Thing You Know by Salzman and Cunningham (Berkshire Theatre Festival), Nicole in Band Geeks! (Goodspeed Opera House), Belle in Beauty and the Beast (Atlanta TOTS), every production of David Zippel's Princesses (Goodspeed, 5th Avenue Theatre), Samantha in The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown (OCPAC), and originating the role of Sharpay Evans in the premiere professional production of Disney's High School Musical (Atlanta TOTS, Dir. Jeff Calhoun). Other than appearing on two episodes of “All My Children,” Patti has not been on TV, but she really likes to watch it. Patti holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. This one is for Curtis, the best cheerleader a girl could ever have. KAT NEJAT (Cleonice) Just finished the Broadway revival of West Side Story (Fernanda) where she understudied and performed the roles of Maria and Anita many times! National Tours: Disney’s High School Musical, Joseph…, and the 50th Anniversary Tour of West Side Story (Maria u/s). Regional: Paper Mill Playhouse, 5th Avenue Theatre, Theatre of the Stars, Fulton Opera House, Theatre Under the Stars. Favorite TV: “Law & Order: SVU,” “One Life to Live,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Sondheim: The Birthday Concert,” “PBS Great Performances: Dance in America,” “The Tony Awards,” QVC On-Air Spokesperson, and back-up vocalist for “Britain’s Got Talent” winner Paul Potts on “The TODAY Show”. Thrilled for her Transport Group debut but even happier to be a newlywed! For B+G. JOSH SEGARRA (Mick) is thrilled to be working on his first production with the Transport group. Getting to put two of his loves on one stage, theatre and basketball, has always been a dream and now it’s finally coming to life. He can currently be seen every day on PBS’s “The Electric Company” as fun-loving Hector Ruiz. He’d like to thank his family, his dear, dear friends, and his team for putting up with his ups and downs but most importantly for reminding him this is what he’s made to do, so never give up. “Some people succeed because they are destined to, while others succeed because they are determined to”. In addition to the arts HS she also was a company member at The Dallas Powerhouse of Dance and The Centre for Dance. She was the honorary numerous awards from NYC Dance Alliance, Jacobs Pilliow Dance Fesitval, Broadway Theatre Project, and the National Foundation for the Arts. Upon graduation from the Arts HS she went to train at the North Carolina School of the Arts as a contemporary dance major. Biti feels incredibly blessed and thankful. In addition, he has been a guest artist at Cornell, Dartmouth, and Princeton University. In the world of TV and film, he recently wrote the themes and music for "The Power of 10" with Drew Carey for CBS/Sony and "Million Dollar Password" with Regis Philbin, also for CBS. His numerous commercial scores include campaigns for Microsoft, Life Cereal, SAAB, and the AFL-CIO. A longtime collaborator with fashion designer Zang Toi, he has composed and performed runway music for over 14 collections. LORI FINEMAN (TG Executive Director) Prior to Transport Group Lori worked in management consulting for Andersen Consulting and Capco, a financial services consulting firm where she was the Global Director of Knowledge Management. As a producer, Lori was a founding member of a New York-based theatre company, Muse of Fire Productions, and the Executive Director of the Philadelphia-based National Women’s Theatre Festival. Lori has worked professionally as an actor, choreographer, and yoga instructor. Lori is also the President of the board of directors of the Jewish Community Project in Tribeca. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Lori holds a BA in English & Theatre Arts and a BSE from the Wharton School in Management. Lori’s favorite roles: mom to Dylan, Spencer, and Nathan and wife to Steve. KRISTINA CORCORAN WILLIAMS (TG Dramaturg/Literary Manager) is the resident Dramaturg and Literary Manager for Transport Group. Other recent credits include the world premieres of Boleros for the Disenchanted and The Unmentionables at Yale Repertory Theatre where she also served as Literary Associate. She has served on the summer theatre faculty at Interlochen Center for the Arts and holds an MFA in Dramaturgy from the Yale School of Drama. About the Gym at Judson: The Gym at Judson is a new workout space for the arts in the heart of Greenwich Village. A sanctuary for emerging artists in theater, dance, music and visual arts, The Gym will draw on Judson's rich legacy of presenting challenging, groundbreaking work. A full-size gymnasium with 30 foot ceilings, the space is being converted into a multi-use theater facility, complete with state of the art lighting and sound equipment, and flexible seating for up to 200. An extensive renovation of the public restrooms is planned for this summer, for which funds are now being raised.
