In March we appeared in the cover of SAF's Floral Management Magazine: 3 That is Baronesse (or a Mariatheresia) arranged inside a white hydrangea. How easy and beautiful is that! They also featured our Alabaster in the fresh choices page: Thank you Kate and Katie! In Florists' Review's March Edition we had some Pink O'Hara in the cover and some Wanted (Hearts inside): 4 Thank you Talmage and Lisa! And in Florist's Review's April edition we included a 14x21 poster with all of our varieties! The poster includes a key to show each varieties vase life as well as fragrance. Just reply to this e-mail if you'd like a copy of the poster! Finally, in the April edition of Flowers& magazine we were featured again! 5 You can see Romantic Antike and Baronesse featured in this article, although they were misidentified as David Austin varieties: Rosalinda and Darcy. And below you can see some of our newest varieties as featured in the same magazine: 6 Best Impression, Golden Tower, Lemon Pompom, Pink O'Hara (already in production), Pink Piano (already in production) Great Whites & Creams for Weddings 2011 At last, we have a great set of whites for wedding season for the US, UK and Japanese markets. Book your needs early to guarantee availability: 7 Alabster Caramel Antike White O'Hara Vitality Mythos We have excellent availability of all of the above! A different tone of white for every bride! Alabaster is a rosette shaped rose, with a good fragrance. Goes well with Baronesse and Mariatheresia because of the similar shapes. Caramel Antike has the shape of old Cabbage roses and the color of, well, Caramel! It has no fragrance but will grow in size as it takes in water. It looks lovely with its dirty pink sister "Romantic Antike" White O'Hara is our newest white variety. It was developed in France by the Delbard company and it has all the attributes we like 8 in garden roses: the quartered shape, the intense fragrance, a great vase life, a large head, and a delicate white with a bit of ivory in the center. It also ships very well! Vitality is of course a dream! The most fragrant of all our varieties, it has scalloped edges for romance and a buttery, bone white color. Mythos is the ivory work horse. Lasts long in the vase, ships very well, is the hardiest white/ivory rose we carry. But alas it has no fragrance and does not open too far in the vase. We also carry in smaller numbers: Jeanne Moreau, and Comtessa. Incredible Head sizes! Although our varieties look small right out of the box, they become huge after a few days in water. Leave lots of space for them to grow into when making arrangements! And keep them 4 - 5 days in water before an event. (If they get too open, simply set them back in the cooler to slow them down) Alabaster Romantic Antike Baronesse White O'Hara Visit our New Facebook page! Besides planting hundreds of thousands of bulbs that flower at the same time, they display different cut flowers throughout the spring. Thanks to De Ruiter's help (a Dutch Rose breeder) we were able to display our varieties in the Rose pavilion. See pics below: 10 11 12 13 For more pics visit our Facebook page. Best Wishes for Japan We want to extend our feelings of support and hope to the people of Japan. We feel for you, for the incredible loss of life, and for the extensive damage your country has received from the earthquake, the Tsunami and the escaped radioactivity. We wish you the strength of spirit to reconstruct swiftly! If anybody would like to help in the reconstruction efforts, below please find three links to reputable charities that are making a difference in Japan: 1. American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee 2. Americares 3. American Red Cross Greenwings, one of our customers in Japan, had scheduled a promotion at the Tamagaya Takashumaya Shopping center in Tokyo. In a demonstration of Japanese discipline and perseverance, they made sure the event took place even though it was two weeks after the devastating earthquake. Here are some photos: 14 Thank you Kazuyo for your efforts!
