About the Constellation Awards
The Constellation Awards are Canada’s only awards dedicated exclusively to
celebrating excellence in science fiction film and television. The Constellation Awards
are presented annually to the actors, writers, producers, and technical teams behind
the best science fiction productions of the year. What distinguishes the Constellation
Awards from other similar awards is the fact that the Constellations are based on
nominations and votes received from the Canadian viewing public.
Canadian
As more of the international film and television
industry looks to Hollywood North as an
important venue for production, more and more
Canadian actors and producers have become
involved in popular science fiction movies and
series. Furthermore, Canada has become a
world leader in areas such as Visual Effects and
3D animation, cornerstones of science fiction
film and television production. To recognize
these Canadian accomplishments, one of the
goals of the Constellation Awards is to highlight
Canadian contributions to science fiction film and
television production. This is particularly reflected
by the inclusion of the Outstanding Canadian
Contribution to Science Fiction category, one of
nine awarded categories.

“Doctor Who”, and “Iron Man”.
Actor/comedian Gavin Stephens (“Comedy Inc.”, “Nerdgasm”) hosted

Nomination Process:
The Constellation Awards accept nominations in any

do nominations need to be submitted in every category.
However, an individual may only nominate each work or
performance once per category.
