Department Of External Programme
The Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) part-time programme, is one of the signature programmes of UTM,
offered by the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FKA). This provides the apportunity of a good undergraduate
civil engineering education to working technical assistants to achieve higher professional positions in the
construction industry. Since 1995, this part-time programme has been given full support by the highest
management of the university and has been offered at various learning centres in Malaysia. FKA, the owner
of the programme and SPACEUTM, the administrative manager, work together in running the related
activities. FKA and UTMSPACE are committed to provide the highest standards of quality in delivering
the part-time civil engineering programmes to achieve the mission and vision of the faculty and university.
The programme is monitored continuously by various stakeholders to maintain the quality of the education
and subsequently, as part of the quality measurements, the Self-Assessment Report is prepared for the
accreditation of the programme.
To ensure that the part-time programme can be carried out smoothly, the university has set up a special
office known as the Department for External Programmes, located at the Ground Floor, Block M46, FKA
building, UTM Skudai. This office is led by the Head of Department for External Programmes and he is
assisted by 9 coordinators who are appointed among the lecturers of FKA.
