for independent travellers. Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in
Sandakan. End the tour with 4 nights in Kota Kinabalu, to tour Kinabalu Park
World Heritage Site and the bustling gateway to Sabah’s capital city.
Itinerary
Day 1: Australia – Sandakan. Fly from Australia to Sandakan via Kuala Lumpur. Transfer to the hotel.
Accommodation: Four Points by Sheraton (Deluxe Seaview Room), Sandakan – 2 nights
Day 2: Sepilok. Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. After lunch proceed to the Australian War
Memorial and proceed to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Take a bird view of the centre from the canopy
walk and hanging bridge before exploring the botanical garden, home to various species of.

Day 3: Sandakan – Kota Kinabalu. Transfer to airport for the flight to Kota Kinabalu. Transfer to the hotel.
Remainder of the day at own leisure in Kota Kinabalu.

Accommodation: The Pacific Sutera Hotel, Kota Kinabalu – 4 nights
Day 4: Kinabalu Park World Heritage Site. Drive 2 hours overland (88 km) through paddy-fields and
Dusun villages over the ridges of the Crocker Range to the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu at 5,000ft. At Kinabalu
Park World Heritage Site, visit the Education Centre and Mountain Garden, home to various species of the
flowering rhododendrons, carnivorous pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, oak trees and birds. Continue 40 km
overland journey to Poring. Return to Kota Kinabalu.

Day 5: Kota Kinabalu City Tour. Commence the tour with a scenic drive to Tanjung Lipat en-route to the
iconic Tun Mustapha building. Continue for a cultural experience to visit one of Malaysia’s most beautiful
and majestic mosques, the “floating” Kota Kinabalu City Mosque and to the colourful Puh Toh Tze Buddhist
temple that proves quite a hit with most guest. Drive back along the coastal highway, to the city lookout point
of Signal Hill for a bird’s eye view of the city, before visiting the nearby historic Atkinson Clock Tower and
Australia Place to learn about some of the history of Borneo. Thereafter, end the tour at the Sabah Museum
that houses a wonderful collection of Sabah’s heritage.
Day 6: Kota Kinabalu. Days at own leisure.
Day 7: Kota Kinabalu – Australia. Transfer to the airport. Fly from Kota Kinabalu to Australia via
Kuala Lumpur.
