Rules changes for AHRMA 2014
Rules change for AHRMA 2014 08 May 2013, 9 pages submitted via email to [email protected] Discipline & Current Rule #(s) Roadrace - FAIRINGS 9.7.10 b) Name: Michael Moore Member # : 1226 Current Rule: FAIRINGS 9.7.10 b) The front wheel must be visible from the side and it must be possible to see the rider completely, in the normal riding position, from either side and from above with the exception of the forearms. Proposed Change: add “and hands” to the end of the sentence so it reads: The front wheel must be visible from the side and it must be possible to see the rider completely, in the normal riding position, from either side and from above with the exception of the forearms and hands. Discussion: Various fairings that obscur the rider's hands as well as forearms were in use during the 1960s and 1970s in Europe, Great Britain and the United States. Fairings that obscure the rider's hands have been used in AHRMA competition for many years. Examples are the Peel Mountain Mile fairing, John Player Norton F750, and John Cronshaw BSA Goldstar. The rule change will bring the rule into alignment with both history and long-established AHRMA practice.
