NEXT-GENERATION LIVE MUSIC VENUE AND RESTAURANT
OFFERS NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT AND SUPERB DINING
The Hamilton, in downtown Washington, DC, just steps from the White House
W
ashington, DC — The Hamilton is Clyde’s Restaurant Group’s hybrid music and
dining concept located in the vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood of Northwest
Washington, DC. The three-floor property expands across a 37,000 square feet
venue and opened the evening of December 18, 2011, creating hundreds of new
jobs in the District and a new outlet for dining and entertainment in downtown DC.
This dual-purpose property features a superbly engineered subterranean music venue complemented by a beautifully
designed, street-level restaurant comprised of four dining rooms, a sushi bar, and three upstairs bars—each showcasing
their own unique artistic environment. Guests of the music venue also enjoy a menu of creative dining and beverage
options, surrounded by a private portrait collection spanning generations of musical icons.
The Hamilton restaurant is open seven days a week (except on December 25 to observe Christmas) and is spearheaded
by executive chef Anthony Lombardo, formerly of 1789 Restaurant. The restaurant accommodates 500 guests
with the venue’s space seating and serving an audience up to 700. While the music venue’s menu is available before
and during performances, the restaurant is open Monday–Thursday 11 a.m.–2 a.m., Friday from 11 a.m.–3 a.m.,
Saturday from 11 a.m.–2 a.m. and Sunday 8:30 a.m. until 2 a.m. Washington offers up few options for late-night dining,
making the property’s after-hours menu an exception to the rule that kitchens close early in D.C.
Chef Lombardo’s menu is focused on seasonal & regional American fare, fresh ingredients including Clyde’s signature
farm-raised produce, and their locally-raised, hormone-free beef and antibiotic-free chicken. Guests enjoy a delicious
variety of noshing options; including fresh charcuterie, oyster bruschetta and delicious sliders, to more substantial
standouts like Maine lobster rolls, Rigatoni with house-made sausage and ricotta, Alaska Halibut with olives and potatoes
to Heritage Berkshire pork tenderloin. “Late-Night” options include anything from steak frites to swordfish and burgers.
A variety of house-made milkshakes (including some boozy concoctions) and sweets like Chocolate St. Louis Gooey
Cake and Summer Berry Shortcake can be ordered until close.
Expert executive sushi chef Jason Zheng and his cadre of sushi chefs prepare bento boxes and several original creations
including the Fire Cracker—spicy jumbo lump crab, fried shrimp and tempura flakes, and the Rock n Roll—tempura
oyster, yellowtail, and jalapeno. Dinner items range from small plates to large platters to share, with sushi available at the
13-seat sushi bar or throughout the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday–Wednesday, 1 a.m. on Thursday, and 2 a.m.
on Friday and Saturday. We offer a daily Sushi Happy Hour with half-price sushi from 3–6 p.m. and from 11 p.m. ‘till closing.
Our wine list is dedicated to limited production wines that are food friendly, yet drinkable on their own. Wines offered
on this ever-evolving list are produced by both large and small wineries all over the world. These wines express the
true nature of what artisanal wine embodies in a glass. Our regional craft spirits list is built with a heavy emphasis on
distinctive American gins, vodkas and bourbons. Guests may also choose from a comprehensive sake list and over 20
craft beers on draft, as well as can and bottle selections.
Below street-level is The Hamilton LIVE, a popular listening room for music and entertainment in downtown
Washington. The venue celebrates the talent and passion of America’s new and best artists and offers local and visiting
musicians from around the world the unique opportunity to entertain fans—all within earshot of the White House.
The Hamilton LIVE’s official opening night show welcomed gospel legend and GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist Mavis
Staples to Washington with a capacity crowd. From New Orleans brass-bands to country/folk singer/songwriters, to Latin
funk, The Hamilton LIVE is never short on surprises and up-and-coming artists.
In keeping with Mayor Gray’s One City, One Hire—10,000 Jobs Campaign (www.onecityonehire.org), The Hamilton
added over 300 new jobs in the District of Columbia.

ABOUT HAMILTON SQUARE
Hamilton Square is a landmark building that was originally constructed in 1929 and operated as the flagship store for Garfinckel’s
department store until 1990. From 1997–1999, the property was redeveloped into a modern office building behind a restored historic
facade. The award-winning renovation was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and features state-of-the-art systems, exquisite
finishes and details that were reminiscent of the building’s original construction. The old-style craftsmanship is evident immediately
upon entering the lobby, which features vaulted ceilings and marble, stone and wood finishes, accented by unique wall sconces, elegant
commissioned paintings and sculpture, and a marble fountain.
Hamilton Square is located on the northwest corner of 14th and F Streets in the East End submarket of Washington, DC. The property
enjoys superior accessibility both by car and mass transit, and is conveniently located one block from the U.S. Department of Treasury
and less than two blocks from the White House.
