For its inaugural evening, the library is proud to welcome Jeremy Gorelick, class of 1997, who is the World Bank’s expert on affordable housing in sub-Saharan Africa in his role as the Managing Director of the Affordable Housing Institute’s Financial Markets division, among other accomplishments. Most recently, he co-wrote the UN Capital Development Fund’s global policy document on municipal finance and served as the City of Dakar’s Financial Advisor on a program supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as it prepared to launch one of Africa’s first municipal bonds. He strongly believes in the power of education, as demonstrated by six consecutive years of teaching classes on innovations in international finance at the Johns Hopkins University and enjoys coming back to Long Island to play with the Huntington Community Band over the summer when possible. Alumni interested in speaking should contact the Young Adult Desk. The iPad has changed the way people use computers. You can read books, take pictures and videos, play music, watch movies, and more.
