dancer. If you don't know me well,
you will probably not understand
my humor. Therefore, I apologize
ahead of time. Thanks for listening
to my ramblings of my everchanging life and trusting my
kitchen mishaps. Your trust in me is
appreciated.
There is a lawyer in front of me at the coffee shop who loves complaining. He’s talking about making over
$203,000 last year and is complaining about rarely sleeping. Well no sh*t. You made what I’ll probably make in my
lifetime, I’d hope I’m getting a little bit more sleep than you. You chose that life sir, live with it. And look at your
damn pant leg, it’s tucked into your sock. You’re a mess.
I love my new car. I loved my old 1997 Honda Civic, ‘the red machine’ if you will, but she just wasn’t fitting into my
life anymore. We grew apart. And even though both of us are getting uglier as time goes on, we just are on
different paths. So now, hopefully she can light up someone else’s life. I know my new car is lighting up mine. We’ve

bonded. I’ve already used the seat warmers. She warmed my butt. She’s the best.

some cooking videos? Well, Again Faster has been posting those videos more and more. I can’t watch most of them
because I instantly think of things I could do better on video. And there’s a lot. Like smile more. Have you ever

watched Giada De Laurentiis (definitely had to look up how to spell that name) on her cooking shows? She never
stops smiling. I don’t get how she does it. Probably because she has at least 106 teeth to work with. But either way,
it’s damn hard to smile ALL.THE.TIME. I obviously haven’t mastered it, but I’m getting better. I’m thinking about
getting more teeth implanted in my face to help with that issue.
Ok, I need to pimp out a product I just recently tried because I LOVE IT. It’s called Epic Bar. It’s a jerky bar that has
the best quality meat and other ingredients such as cranberries or cherries. My favorite is the bison, bacon and
cranberry bar. It is epic. And it’s the perfect mid day snack when you’re unsure of what to eat. Seriously. You have
to try it.
So I made this recipe and Laura thought the pepperoni was great, while the boyfriend thought it was better
without the pepperoni. So this is what I’m going to recommend. If you like pepperoni, eat it in the salad. If you

don’t, then don’t. And add avocado. Or just add avocado anyways because it’s delicious in anything.

1 Tip of a flat belly :
Serves: 4-5
Cut down a bit of your belly
every day by using this 1
weird old tip.
Ingredients
For the garlic crockpot pork
2-3 pound pork shoulder (I used bone-in)
4 garlic cloves, peeled
1 yellow onion, sliced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
salt, to taste (more is better than less)
For the salad
Print
2 hearts of romaine lettuce, roughly chopped
1 red bell pepper, cored and diced
1 (4 ounce) container of button mushrooms, sliced
2 cups pineapple, diced
½ cup pepperoni, diced
Tessemae's cracked pepper dressing (optional)
2 tablespoons fat (I used grass fed butter, but you could use bacon fat or coconut oil)
Instructions
1. First you gotta cook your pork, because it's going to take about 8-10 hours.
2. Place the sliced onions in the bottom of your crockpot then add the pork shoulder. Take a sharp
knife and poke 4 holes in different places in the pork. Press the peeled garlic cloves into the holes.
3. Sprinkle garlic powder and salt on the pork and onions.
4. Cover and let cook on low for 8-10 hours. Then shred directly in the crockpot. You won't need any
liquid for this meat if it has enough fat on it, it will render a good amount of liquid into the
crockpot.
5. Once your meat is shredded, start making the rest of your salad.
6. Place a medium skillet over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of fat, then add the mushrooms
with a pinch of salt and cook down until soft and brown.
7. When the mushrooms are done and the everything else has been chopped, add it all together.
8. Top the salad with any dressing you like. I didn't use any dressing and didn't think it needed it.
Delish.

THIS SALAD LOOKS AWESOMMME. So I bought a Groupon for a month of
CrossFit, which I don’t think I ever would have tried if I didn’t read your blog like a
fanatic, and I LOVE IT!! So, just wanted to say thanks!! I only wish I could afford to
keep it up after my Groupon runs out!!!! Oh being poor.

Thanks for the tip on the Epic Bars. I’ve just ordered a sample pack, but I’m thinking
these will be great fuel for backpacking (and I’m always looking for great fuel for
backpacking :).

I was just thinking this morning…what can I make for a paleo picnic?? I want to go
fishing with my friend and need some eats that are awesome at room temp or

Everything about this post was awesome. I lol’d reading the first paragraph, and it
puts things in perspective, hey?
Secondly, my mind is blown by those Epic Bars. That seems delicious! I hope they
ship to Canada. They’d be great for hiking and post-run snacks.
And lastly I love the idea of a hawaiian pizza salad! I make pulled pork quite often
(the meat is cheap, makes a lot and is easy when you have a crockpot), and it’s nice to
try different things with it.

The salad sounds delicious, and I just happen to have leftover Kalua Pig!! Guess who
just added pineapple to the shopping list for this afternoon…
Also, the Epic bars sound so good that I just ordered two of the sample packs. I have
some travel coming up, and they sound like the perfect take-along.

Thank you for the link to the Tessemae’s Salad Dressing. I have been looking for a
dressing that did NOT contain vege oil of any sort and I don’t have a Whole Foods in
my immediate vicinity (Wegman’s is awesome, but doesn’t carry that brand). I can
now order online – yay! – and try this brand. I looked at the site and it even sells
BBQ sauce and Hot sauce! That would be awesome on pulled pork!

Funny that you mention how much Giada smiles. I saw her Chefography on Food
Network a few years back and she was NOT a natural in front of the camera! She
didn’t smile or talk much about what she was doing. She HATED being in front of the
camera and really had to work at smiling and talking, etc. She’s definitely got it nailed
though, doesn’t she?? I still refuse to believe she eats anything that she makes.
Correction, I refuse to believe she eats anything.
I’ve tried smiling while I’m chopping and stirring and preparing. It’s friggin’ hard.
Definitely unnatural.

Thanks for the delicious anti-lawyer recipe. It sounds divine, and when used with
leaner cuts of pork roast, quite healthy as well. A little pepperoni may go a long way,
especially when augmented by grilled pineapple. I am sure I will also try the Epic bar
you recommended.

Thanks for the divine recipe. Anything Hawaiian with pork is bound to be delicious.
Perhaps the Epic Bar you recommended is the trick, but then again, lean cuts of pork
grilled slowly can be quite healthy. Pump up the grilled pineapple and you definitely
have a winner! It is always a challenge to find healthy recipes that everyone likes.
This particular pizza salad recipe created a world of opportunity. Thanks for the post
and I will definitely come back to get more tips.

I had some shredded pork in the freezer so I was able to throw this salad together
tonight speedy quick. Yay for pepperoni! Beautiful salad, I can taste the rainbow!!

I’m adding this recipe to my menu for this long weekend (in Canada). I got your
cookbook a few weeks ago and loving it – the Sweet Potato meatloaf recipe in it is
delicious. Of course, sweet potato anything is good. Great cooking video too – will
you be doing more?

Loved it. Husband loved it. And the crockpot filled the apartment with deliciousness.

Made this tonight for dinner with left-over pulled pork and it was delicious! I put a
dressing on it, but probably won’t next time. It’s plenty rich enough without it. I also
sautéed the chopped red bell pepper with the mushrooms (in coconut oil).
