BIOGRAPHY
Called “effective, funny and imaginatively presented”
by the New York Post, RING OF FIRE: THE LIFE AND
MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH was created by Richard
Maltby, Jr. and conceived by William Meade. The jukebox
musical tribute salutes the late six-time Grammy winner,
who charmed generations of music lovers and ruled music
charts with I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues, Man in
Black, Give My Love to Rose, and Solitary Man.
Primarily celebrated as a Country singer, Cash’s style
also spanned Gospel, Folk, Rock, and Blues. Touching
on the life and times of one of the world’s most legendary
musicians, Ring of Fire features a company of performers in a
presentation of Cash’s storied life and legendary music, from
the cotton fields of Arkansas to the Grand Ole Opry. Tales
of faith, family, redemption, and humor set the stage ablaze
in this musical extravaganza, which features Cash’s biggest
hits, such as A Boy Named Sue, If I Were a Carpenter, I’ve
Been Everywhere, Jackson, Ring of Fire, and Daddy Sang Bass.
The production has garnered praise from critics and
audiences around the country, with the Associated Press
hailing it as “touching and exuberant.” The Star Tribune
said the “staging is homespun, [the show is] confident in
voice and well-executed.” It added, “The cast finds the right
twang and heart of songs about heartache, humor.” n

BIOGRAPHY
In AN EVENING WITH SMOKEY ROBINSON,
the music icon presents the timeless hits that made him a
legend, such as Just to See Her and The Tracks of My Tears.
During the course of his longstanding career in music,
Robinson has created more than 4,000 songs and continues
to thrill sold-out audiences around the world with his high
tenor voice, impeccable timing, and profound sense of
lyric. The Los Angeles Times raved, “[He makes] music with
enough grace and passion to transcend any era.”
Once pronounced by Bob Dylan as America’s “greatest
living poet,” Robinson has amassed a long list of honors
during his career. A recipient of the Grammy Living Legend
Award, NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award, Kennedy
Center Honors, and the National Medal of Arts Award,
Robinson has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, a teenage Robinson
founded The Miracles, which was the first vocal group
signed by Berry Gordy for Motown. Robinson’s Shop Around
became Motown’s first No. One hit on the R&B singles
chart. The Miracles also climbed music charts with You’ve
Really Got a Hold on Me, Ooo Baby Baby, Going to a Go-Go,
More Love, Tears of a Clown, and I Second That Emotion.
Robinson also wrote and produced hits for other
Motown greats, including The Temptations, Mary Wells,
Brenda Holloway, and Marvin Gaye. Iconic songs that
Robinson penned include The Way You Do the Things You
Do, My Girl, Get Ready, You Ain’t That Peculiar, and My
Guy. During his solo career, the crooner garnered more
success with Just to See Her, Quiet Storm, Cruisin’, and Being

BIOGRAPHY
In 1999, Alton Brown reinvented the food show
with his award-winning Food Network program Good Eats,
which the Los Angeles Times describes as “a unique blend
of cooking meets entertainment meets mad-cap science.”
Good Eats was recognized as a Peabody Award winner, a
distinguished prize presented for excellence in broadcast
news, education, and entertainment.
A regular on Food Network Star, Iron Chef America,
and Next Iron Chef, the gourmand now takes his winning
recipe for entertainment on the road in ALTON BROWN
LIVE – EDIBLE INEVITABLE TOUR. Audiences will
be amazed, amused, edified, and perhaps a bit terrified as
the television personality whips up his quirky humor and
culinary-science antics on stage. The show is a unique
blend of stand-up comedy, food experimentation, talk-show
antics, multimedia lecture, and – for the first time – live
music. Audience interaction is anticipated throughout the
evening, and those recruited to be culinary assistants for
onstage food experimentation are warned that things could
get a little messy.
Winner of the 2011 James Beard Award for “TV Food
Personality/Host” for Good Eats, Brown is also the bestselling author of I’m Just Here for the Food, I’m Just Here for
More Food, and Feasting on Asphalt.
A three-book series on the Good Eats program
showcases everything Brown’s fans have ever wanted to
know about the popular television show. The first book
in the series, Good Eats: The Early Years, landed on The
New York Times bestseller list for 13 weeks. The series’
second tome, Good Eats 2: The Middle Years, is chock full of
behind-the-scenes photographs and trivia, science-of-food
information, cooking tips, and recipes. It also earned a spot

BIOGRAPHIES
A spin-off of Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, the
music-based variety show Where the Action Is dominated
television sets across the country in the 1960s. Taking audiences back to that time, the WHERE THE ACTION IS
tour features Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Association,
and Mitch Ryder.
Celebrated for the singles Indian Reservation and Kicks,
the Rock group PAUL REVERE & THE RAIDERS
served as the de facto house band for the popular televised
program Where the Action Is. The band’s many hits include
Hungry, Just Like Me, Louie Louie, and Steppin’ Out. The
group’s current lineup consists of founding member Paul
Revere, lead guitarist Doug Heath, bassist Ron Foos,
keyboardist Danny Krause, lead vocalist and Vocal Group
Hall of Fame inductee Darren Dowler, and drummer Tommy
Scheckel.
The lineup also features THE ASSOCIATION, who
masterminded the Gold hits Windy, Cherish, and Never My

Love. One of the most successful bands of the 1960s, the
group has sold more than 80 million albums. Its discography
includes six Gold and two Platinum albums. The Los
Angeles Times Magazine named The Association as one of
the top 50 bands formed in Los Angeles. The ensemble’s
current lineup includes original members Russ Giguere,
Larry Ramos, Jim Yester, and Jules Alexander; drummer
Bruce Pictor; keyboardist-guitarist Jordan Cole; and bass
guitarist Del Ramos.
Known for his dynamic high-octane performances,
veteran Detroit Rocker MITCH RYDER is set to deliver
his timeless hits, which include Sock It to Me, Devil With a
Blue Dress/Good Golly Miss Molly, Little Latin Lupe Lu, and
Jenny Take a Ride. In 2012, the singer released the R&Bflavored The Promise. The musician’s raw autobiography,
Devils & Blue Dresses, is a candid account of his tumultuous
life and career and the Soul-Rock sound that helped to
establish the foundation for the Detroit music template. n

of All Time,” Sir Elton John has produced 50 Top 40 hits,
including I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues, Sad
Songs (Say So Much), Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me, I’m
Still Standing, Rocket Man, and Little Jeannie. The GrammyOscar-Golden Globe-Tony award winner has sold more
than 250 million records worldwide and was inducted into
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Queen Elizabeth
II knighted John in 1998, honoring his commitment and
service to music and charity.

BAND, featuring Craig A. Meyer as the musician,
celebrates Sir John and his decades of chart-topping hits.
With uncanny resemblance and outrageous costumes
(including platform shoes and fur coats!), award-winning
performer Meyer brings to life the Rock legend’s colorful
persona, charisma, and chart-topping songs, including
Benny and the Jets, Philadelphia Freedom, Crocodile Rock,
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daniel, and Candle in the Wind.
Meyer is “a top-notch performer!” cheers Daily Variety.
Meyer’s other theatrical projects have included
Broadway roles in Meet Me in St. Louis, Cats, Starlight
Express, and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. He
choreographed Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living
in Paris, which won a Suzi Bass Award for “Best Musical
Production.” Meyer’s work in the original production of Brel
earned a Suzi nomination for “Outstanding Choreography.”
Meyer’s many roles have led to collaborations with
the entertainment industry’s biggest names, including
John and Tim Rice on The Lion King and Alan Menken on
Disney’s Aladdin. Barry Manilow praised Meyer, calling him
“one of the most talented people I have ever worked with.
He can do anything!” Meyer has appeared on television’s
Will & Grace and General Hospital. His cinema roles
include Necessary Roughness, Leatherheads, Joyful Noise, and

BIOGRAPHies
With darkness as a canvas and light as a brush, LUMA
performers paint dazzling, sparkling images that tell stories
and spin a visual magic, evoking awe and delight. The San
Francisco Chronicle has praised the luminescent production,
calling it an “enchanting touring theatrical light show.”
MICHAEL MARLIN (Creator), who has been
touring his Luma show since 1999, was an aspiring comicjuggler in the ’70s and ’80s. He performed in street acts, the
circus, and a belly-dance troupe, and he headlined for many
entertainers at comedy clubs. Despite an appearance on the
’70s show Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert, which highlighted
comedy and musical acts, Marlin grew increasingly
disillusioned with the fast-paced Los Angeles lifestyle and
his stagnant juggling career. He sold his belongings and
moved to paradise.
On the Big Island of Hawaii, he lived in a tree house,
where the only light at night emanated from the moon’s
glow, glittering stars, or fiery volcanoes. Inspired by the
natural beauty and the splendor of the night sky, Marlin
created a riveting production that has enraptured audiences
of all ages by bringing to life what previously could only be
imagined: mind-boggling, magical realms of light, color,
motion, and music.
With the help of eight-time Tony award-winning
lighting designer Jules Fisher, Marlin fine-tuned the
production to incorporate physical disciplines and hi-tech
illuminated objects. The result is a “techno-circus” that
has audiences sitting on the edge of their seats, mesmerized
by natural, artificial, and metaphysical light depicting
dancing fireflies and shooting stars on a darkened stage.
Add flashing screen savers and imaginary carnival rides, and
Luma becomes an “engaging show with some truly magical
moments that play creatively upon our age-old fascination
with the wonder that is light,” proclaims the San Francisco
Chronicle. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin notes that Luma “had
the kids’ attention from start to finish, and even many of the
adults in the crowd oohed and aahed at some of the more
elaborate geometric lighting effects.”
Luma has been featured on The Tonight Show and
in theaters throughout the United States, Japan, Italy,
Scotland, Holland, India, Venezuela, and the Dominican

ALAN HOWARD (Performer) has performed
comedy-juggling acts in casino revues, concert halls,
colleges, cruise ships, and comedy clubs around the world.
His career in show business began on Romper Room.
Howard has won several honors from the International
Jugglers Association and is publisher and editor of JUGGLE
magazine. He resides in Las Vegas, Nevada.
GERALDO DITTER FLORES’ (Performer) career
began in his native Mexico. In 2000, he moved to the
United States to pursue theater arts. Flores’ credits include
Hello Dolly (national tour), Aida (LA Opera), and Chicago
Festival Ballet (Chicago, Illinois).
BECKY CASTELLS (Dancer) is originally from
the East Coast. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s
degree in dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue a
career in dance and acting. Her credits include Shaqtacular
(Universal Studios), Magic Redefined (Southern California
tour), L’effleur Des Sens (Hollywood), and Luma (China
tour). Castells is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
MELISSA STAROSZIK (Dancer) created Pop
dance crew Sinfully Sweet. She is the company manager
and choreographer and has performed with the group for
six years. Staroszik has shared the stage with Lady Gaga,
Akon, The Black Eyed Peas, and Cascada, and has toured
the world with Luma. She is a champion rhythmic gymnast,
dancer, and aerialist.
LAUREN FRIAS (Dancer) received her bachelor of
fine arts degree in dance and choreography from California
Institute of the Arts in 2011. Since graduating, Frias has
performed with Pacific Ballet Theater, Szalt, Blue 13,
The Lotus Dancers, Jordan Saenz, and Joshuah Michael.
Recently, Frias performed with Luma in Israel and Spain.
LISA ALLIN (Dancer), a five-year Luma veteran, is
pleased to return to the stage after becoming a mom. Her
credits include Francesca in Westside Story at Moonlight
Amphitheater, Tango dancer in Evita at Candlelight
Pavilion, The Tales of Hoffmann with Opera Pacific, and
The Unsinkable Molly Brown with Santa Barbara Civic
Light Opera. Allin dedicates this performance to Isabel, the
brightest light in her world. n

BIOGRAPHY
With a résumé that highlights a successful music and
acting career and stints as a talk-show host, artist, and boxer,
“CHRIS ISAAK may be the closest thing popular music has
to a Renaissance man,” observes the Washington Post.
The singer-songwriter shot to prominence with his
brooding Country-Rock ballad Wicked Game, which was
featured in David Lynch’s 1991 film Wild at Heart. An
influential Atlanta radio programmer happened to see
the film and began playing the song on the air. The tune
skyrocketed to the Top 10 and became what the Los Angeles
Times called “the year’s unlikeliest hit.” Another track –
Don’t Make Me Dream About You – from the same record
also earned significant airplay, turning the Heart Shaped
World album into a multi-Platinum seller in the United
States and a hit internationally.
Isaak’s Platinum-selling album Forever Blue yielded
the popular track Somebody’s Crying. Both the song and the
record were nominated for Grammys. Another single – the

intense and bluesy Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing – was featured
in Stanley Kubrick’s final film, the box-office hit Eyes Wide
Shut. His follow-up album, the largely acoustic Baja Sessions,
struck Gold. Isaak’s recent album, Beyond the Sun, features
his recordings of music by his greatest influences, including
Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Roy Orbison. Other albums
include the well-received Chris Isaak Christmas, the critically acclaimed greatest-hits collection Best of Chris Isaak,
Always Got Tonight, Mr. Lucky, and San Francisco Days.
Aside from his prolific music career, Isaak has appeared in the movies Silence of the Lambs, Twin Peaks: Fire
Walk With Me, A Dirty Shame, The Informers, and Little
Buddha. Essentially playing himself in The Chris Isaak Show,
he charmed audiences with a humorously offbeat take on a
Rock star’s life. The Showtime program featured guest appearances by many in the music industry, including Michael
Bublé and Green Day.

Tickets to all performances at the Cerritos Center for
the Performing Arts (CCPA) are available exclusively
through the theater’s Ticket Office and official website
www.cerritoscenter.com. The CCPA does not work in
conjunction with any other ticketing organizations or
websites. Purchasing from a ticket broker, scalper, or
unauthorized website is never a good idea because:

You will always pay more than face value for each
ticket. In many cases, the tickets you purchase from
a broker are not as good as what is available directly
through the CCPA Ticket Office.
We cannot guarantee the authenticity of the tickets.
If there is an issue with your tickets or they are found
to be inauthentic, we cannot help you because you did
not purchase the tickets from the theater. You will be
asked to purchase new tickets for the performance or
leave the premises. The face value on the tickets you
are holding cannot be applied towards the purchase of
new tickets.
Ticket brokers often purchase wheelchair locations
and sell them as regular seats. Not only does this
practice prevent you from attending the performance,
it also prevents us from selling these seats to patrons
who need wheelchair accessibility.
We cannot replace lost or stolen tickets.
We cannot contact you with any information
regarding show cancellations, performer lineup
changes, or rescheduled events. All correspondence
will be made to the original ticket purchaser, who may
not notify you of changes made to the performance.

organizations that work hard to put on the events
that you enjoy, you are rewarding people and
businesses that only make it difficult for real fans like
yourself from seeing your favorite performers without
being charged a premium.

and knowledgeable staff will be happy to help with
ticketing questions or needs.
Do not use a search engine (Google,Yahoo, Bing, etc.)
to find our website. Many search engines make money
by listing various website addresses before ours. These
other websites are unauthorized to sell tickets to our
events. Instead, type www.cerritoscenter.com into the
website address field.
Make sure that you are purchasing from the official
CCPA website. Look at the website address and make
sure that www.cerritoscenter.com is at the beginning
of the website address listed. If it is, you may safely
continue with your transaction. If it is not, close the
page and start over as you are on an unauthorized site.

THE TICKET OFFICE is open 10 AM to 6 PM Monday
through Friday and 12 Noon to 4 PM on Saturday. Hours are
extended until one-half hour past curtain on performance days.
TICKETS can be charged to Visa, MasterCard, Discover or
American Express by calling (800) 300-4345 or (562) 916-8500,
or at www.cerritoscenter.com. Mail orders are processed as they
are received. Tickets cannot be reserved without payment.
LOST TICKET AND TICKET EXCHANGE policies

GROUPS of 20 or more may purchase tickets at a 10%

CHILDREN’S PRICES apply to children twelve (12) years of
age and under. Regardless of age, everyone must have a ticket, sit
in a seat, and be able to sit quietly throughout the performance.
We do not recommend children ages five (5) and younger
attend unless an event is specifically described as suitable for
that age.
Out of courtesy to the performers and fellow patrons,
CELLULAR PHONES, PAGERS, AND ALARM
WATCHES should be disconnected before the start of the
performance.
DOCTORS AND PARENTS should leave their seating
locations with exchanges or sitters and have them call
(562) 916-8508 in case of an emergency.
THE COAT ROOM is located behind the Grand Staircase.
CAMERAS AND RECORDING EQUIPMENT ARE NOT
PERMITTED in the Auditorium and must be checked at the
Coat Room.
LOST ARTICLES can be claimed by calling (562) 916-8510.
ELEVATORS are located near the Grand Staircase and access
each level of the Lobby.
PAY PHONES are located on the Orchestra level behind the
Grand Staircase and near the restrooms on the Gold Circle level.
PARKING is always free in the spacious lots adjacent to the
Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
PHONIC EAR LIGHTWEIGHT WIRELESS HEADSETS
for the hearing impaired are available in the Coat Room at no
cost. To obtain a headset, a driver’s license or major credit card
is required and is returned upon receipt of the equipment at the
close of the performance.
FULL-SERVICE BARS are located in the Grand Lobby on
the Orchestra level and on the Gold Circle level. Refreshments
are not allowed in the Auditorium.
WHEELCHAIR locations are available in various areas of
the Auditorium. For more information, call the Ticket Office at
(800) 300-4345.
SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED in any City facility.
LATECOMERS will be seated at the discretion of the house
staff at an appropriate pause in the program.
FREE PUBLIC TOURS are conducted by appointment only.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL technicians are on duty at all
performances. If you need first aid, contact an usher for
assistance.
RESTROOMS are located behind the Grand Staircase on the
Orchestra level and at the Grand Staircase Landing on the Gold
Circle level.
CLOSED-CIRCUIT TELEVISION VIEWING is available in
the Lobby of each seating level and at the Lobby bar.
THE CERRITOS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING
ARTS’ Auditorium and Sierra Room are available for special
