SERIES Enjoy the entire three-event series for just $112.50. In his acclaimed What Makes It Great? series, Rob Kapilow “gets audiences in tune with Classical music at a deeper and more immediate level than many of them thought possible,” hails the Los Angeles Times. In a three-part format, Kapilow introduces composers, unravels the beauty of their music, and helps listeners approach and appreciate the works in new ways. The conductor-composer first dissects a musical composition. The pieces are then presented by guest musicians from The Colburn School. A lively Q&A concludes the evening. “You hang on to every word and note,” says The New York Times. www.robkapilow.com Over the Rainbow: The Songs of Harold Arlen wed, dec 4, 2013, 7:30 pm Lyric Configuration: $50 The Piano Music of Chopin: Mazurkas, Nocturne, and Polonaise Featuring Ray Ushikubo, piano wed, jan 8, 2014, 7:30 pm Recital Configuration: $50 BEETHOVEN — String Quartet, Op. 18, No. 1 Featuring Calidore String Quartet wed, apr 2, 2014, 7:30 pm Recital Configuration: $50 To place an order, call 800-300-4345 or go to www.cerritoscenter.com 21 CCPA ENDOWMENT FUND Since its opening in 1993, the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) has been recognized as a landmark cultural destination for the Southern California region.
